Shaw in my opinion is the reason Styx were successful ❤
Tommy's voice is absolutely flawless in this.
I didn't think anyone could outdo Blind Faith but Tommy Shaw's voice is made for this song.
Beautiful man singing a beautiful song.
Dang, this is a beautiful song. Tommy never fails. Love this mans voice so much!!! Planning my first Styx concert in Jan, 2023 at the Venetian Theatre, and I can't wait!!!
30 years later and Tommy Shaw still has the pipes for this? Dude was talented back then and still is today. Having seen them in concert, I am always amazed how much they sound like their recordings. It just goes to show that REAL talent doesn't need to be processed through a computer.
How many singers blew out their voice by misusing it for many years? The fact that Tommy (and JY, for that matter) can still sing the high notes means they had good voice teachers and still practice good technique.
I miss brad delp
He still has his pipes.
@@thumper1302 Many good voices are already gone. Like Brad, David Byron , Jimi Jamison just to name a few
Unbelievable 65 + years for Tommy Shaw ❤
Seriously, maybe one of the most overlooked, underappreciated guitarists EVER!! Rock on Tommy!!
In covering Steve Winwood, particularly with this song, they've shown they've got an exceptionally keen musical taste. A classic that is always a great pleasure to listen to. .
Scott Jones Good points and this is a very good cover.
It took great love & desire to even cover such a/an ________ put it this way I can't describe how much I love this song.
As much as I respect Tommy's singing, thank you for saying "they." It's a group effort, and in the concert footage apparently JY is playing the acoustic 12-string, the very backbone of this song.
I was surprised that this cover of "Can't Find My Way Home" was so good...and I must add that people get better with age. Absolutely beautiful voice...still.
time has only seasoned his voice and he is still a top shelf guitarist.
Tommy's voice is still fantastic. And by the way, styx should be in the rock and roll hall of fame. (The beastie boys? come on!)
Word
beastie boys are the opposite of rock fuck the critics
Tommy has been so under appreciated for decades as one of the great men of rock
Shaw still has it. Great voice, and damn him, great hair too.
He's still HOT !!!! LOL!!!
JoAnn Rabitoy I'm still NOT!!!
I actually think hes better now, his voice was Flawless at our Outdoor FREE Concert at Memorial Park, OMG, He was soooooo Great!!!
Wht about the beard and moustache
bob bobo Yeah, and it's not his fault he lives in sick times and with wrong generation. People, musicians, everyone is a big fake shit. JJ Cale passed away 2 years ago, there won't be any bigger tragedy since, to both of our "normal" and "music" worlds, friends. Enjoy your days
How the hell can Tommy Shaw be so amazing for so long? Does this guy age? Another one of my all time favorite singers...and guitar players.
Always a big fan of Tommy. Love this version
My favorite rock band in the whole world
Styx
Love hearing comments from younger people in their teens that love and appreicate good music. I fell in love with Styx sneaking in my older brothers room when he was gone putting on a Styx album at age 8. They just don't put out good music like this anymore.
Incredible voice, Tommy Shaw!
Todd S agreed
Shit yeah.
How did I not know about this album??!! 😮 it’s as good as “Shaw Blades Influence “ just saw them in concert with h REO . Both bands still sound incredible.
Does anyone else think Tommy looks so much better now than he did in his geeky days back in the 70s?
Gawd!!! Tommy NAILS this song!!!
Tommy always had that beautiful high voice and was the main reason I listened to Styx and I just found this song today and he NAILS it!!!
J adorrrrr c'est un ange
"You are the reason I've been waiting all these years "
Love this band he's my crush for 40 years :)
He was mine too for several decades. The very reason I became a fan. Two out of my top 3 favorite Styx songs are ones that Tommy wrote. The other one is from JY, *(Miss America).*
I’m still in love with him for over 40 years! He’s still cute as ever and a voice like no other!
Tommy continues to show his talent… totally underrated artist!
After all of these years, Tommy still has a magnificent voice! ❤️❤️
and one who stuck to what e wanted to do...watch the "Behind the music" of STYX.....Tommy stuck by his guns for what he needed to do...great guitar player, great songwriter, great rock-n-roller...one of my all timers.....STYX and DAMN YANKEES
I've lost track Of how many times I have seen this band, I have traveled Far and wide at times To see them perform, I could watch this band every night and never get tired of their music, Wishing secretly I was a star like the song says, So glad they are still touring, I will be going to see them this summer at least twice
GREAT performance by a great vocalist and a great band.Tommy Shaw deserves much respect!!
This has always been a beautiful song and this is an incredible cover.
STYX........ONE OF FEW MAGNIFICENT MUSICAL GROUP ON EARTH....FOREVER.....
Incredible voice.. .....just saw Styx in St Augustine last night 4/13 and Tommy's voice sounds as good as ever.
So brave to even attempt such a legendary song. Nailed it! Beautiful.
The biggest crush I have had most of my adults life = Tommy Shaw. The voice, the talent, the look. Still to this day (2014), nothing but hotness :)
Terri Fenwick ~ Tommy is who brought me in as a fan too. He was the most gorgeous man for a young girl to dream about. Now though, it's respect for him, & his musical legacy. Everybody wants to talk about DDY, but I've always felt Tommy was a bigger talent in Styx, with all his musical diversity. This man does everything. He and JY don't get enough credit.
Omg, me too! Rediscovered Styx this year after a horrible time in my life, checked out a RUclips video, fell in love with the young boy with the beautiful hair in Boat on a River, one of the sweetest ballads I've ever heard, and I have been falling in love with Tommy ever since. And now my entire outlook is so much better. I like him with or without the beard/mustache. Those eyes! That smile! There's just something so damned endearing about him - Magical.
Tommy's voice is so damn perfect for this song.
Aces, guys. Aces. 😎👍🏻
Beautiful, agreed upon..Do not understand such people whom think they have to glorify "Blind Faith" I love this version as well..makes me smile :))
This was a favorite of our Saturday night jam sessions, sitting around the bonfire down on the b beach, with the final rays of the days setting sun dipping below the waves on the horizon.
I love the little clip of JY playing acoustic guitar. 🤟🏻 JY, He Makes My 💖🫠
Badass version- Tommy's singing his ass off.
Could listen to his voice all night long!!! Hes the Best!!!
plpgto IKR????!!!!! he's amazing >:)
I'm 14 and saw Styx perform a couple of weeks ago in Oklahoma. Best concert I've ever been to. I wish they had been the headliners instead of "Yes".. BUT STYX FREAKING KILLED IT. I'M IN LOVE.
Steve Winwood would be proud of this Styx version.
This track has been covered a couple of times. I wonder what Steve Winwood thinks about all of them?
Just saw them last week. JY is 71 and Tommy is 67. They can still rock! It was EXCELLENT.
Damn that Tommy Shaw! Like a fine wine, just gets better with age....and his voice isn't bad either ; ) ....lookin' mighty fine Tommy.
Best version of this song I've ever heard.
Yes me also!Tommy's awesome!
I would say maybe the best COVER of this song, since I have always loved the Blind Faith version, but that's me.
It's good but I think House of Lord's version is better and Steve Winwood with Clapton and Tom Petty live the absolute best. However, if led Zeppelin were to have done a rendition of it I just can't imagine how amazing it would be with Robert Plants voice and Page with his 12 string.
@@keylimepie210 The version with Bonnie Raitt and the late Lowell George (and others) is pretty awesome, too. All around good song, I guess!
Nice version of Steve Winwood's classic with
Tommy's beautiful voice.
Have a listen.G+
I love it when someone sings a song a makes it theirs! He owned that song with his vocals and his band!! Well Done 👍 👍
What a Great job Styx did covering Stevie's song..Love Tommy's voice..
Great cover of an old 'Blind Faith' song.
Seriously, nobody can play this better than the guy that wrote it. Steve has that instantly recognized voices and what's overlooked is his guitar. He's a living legend.Check out the gig Winwood and Clapton @ 2007? Still had some Blind Faith left in them. Think that could be before your time....
I agree STYX Belongs in the Hall of fame
Aint happenin; Rolling stone contols that an they hate styx
The most underrated band in rock. It used to be Rush, until they got their just do. Now it STYX’s turn.
Styx has found my home for the last 30 years. Rock on boys you’re still fantastic !
Nobody has that perfect voice of Tommy's but Tommy..
Tommy shaw really didn't get the credit he deserved. Sad, such a talented guy.
+david pritchard Amen Bro, probably my favorite all around musician
+david pritchard Did you really give yourself an amen then agree with yourself? haha
+noel curry,
At least he's agreeing with himself..it would have been worse if he/they had opposing points of view.
+oldbutstillrocking ,
The old guy is right and made a good point!
Tommy is worth at least 15 mil. How much recognition does a musician need lol
Tommy still rockin 2021. Love these classics
I used to see Tommy play with MS FUNK before Styx He can really belt out BB KING'S - THE THRILL IS GONE!!!!
Love this so much!
Brings tears to my eyes...
I saw Tommy and his wife Jeannie on Flipping Out last night...I had forgotten about Styx ! He is a good vocalist.
Damn Tommy nails it!
What a voice.
Tommyshaw was always my favorite band member of styx besides dennis de yound when he was thelead singer and john panozzo when he was the drummet
We saw Styx a couple of months ago in Dallas (2023).
ALL of them were amazing!! Tommy sounds as great as ever!! I LOVE Gowan on vocals and keys FAR more than Dennis, all day long. ❤
This band from early albums like Serpent is Rising, through Equinox ,past Mr. Roboto, and beyond Edge of the Century, has gone through changes. Had people come and go, and made good and bad choices. Kinda like our lives. It makes them who they were and are and me who I was and am. Mark of true talent and ispiration.AWESOME!
As I began to listen I am amazed the voice of Tommy and what I hear when Steve Winwood sings this song! 2 Angels for the same heaven!
Dennis is home crying wishing he was back in the band
Absolutely stellar version of this classic song. Beautifully done!
Nice arrangement! Great song! Brother, your band never disappoints me. I've been a fan since the 70s, and we never play a gig without doing a song or two of yours. Thank you so much for everything!
Styx wouldn't have been as great as they were without Tommy Shaw!
One of the best voices of all time> IMHO
Off the chain. Amazing stuff, guys. How Tommy still has his voice is really a miracle. Most rockers blow their voice out, but Tommy sounds like he did in the 70s.
I love this version. Great rendition...
BAMA BOY! WHAT A VOICE!
Styx is my favourite band of all time but Traffic and Blind Faith were pretty awesome. Thanks for covering guys.
My first concert: KISS with Styx as the opening act...Tommy Shaw bouncing all over the stage...He's as great now as he was then....
Incognito21ongwould have loved to seen that show, I was probably too young though. Lol.
Have you found your way home? It took me 63 years but I finally did.
Tommy You did this song justice!!! Love It!!
Love this song! Great singing of it!
Love the rendition!
Totally agree. Great cover of classic song.
Tommy did a terrific job with this. Let us not forget the melodious talent of the others fellows as well
@MrWilliamsworld Damn, I echo your sentiment. Tommy was always a hidden talent in the rock world, briefly emerging on the wings of the STYX hits in which he wrote or co-wrote. The guy has amazing flair for harmony, melody and song structure. Truly one of music's hidden best!!
Nice rendition by one of my favorite bands
They played at my highschool prom. New Trier 1975 Winnetka,Il.
Tommy Shaw one of the greatest
Shaw does. fantastic job of catching that ethereal sound for which Winwood is famous.
Hello 👋 Kent
How're you doing,
it's been a long journey, and I'm nothing without amazing fans like you who appreciate my musical craftiness,
All love to you and yours ❤️
I so love this man and his talented self.
Holy crap for real? This is why I love Styx...alway were able to come through!
I bought "Pueces of 8" and "Cornerstone" when they were released back in the late 1970s. Really awesome albums. But this, along with "I am the Walrus" is the first time I've heard them play great covers. Really nice version.
tommy shaw what a bad ass vocalist!
Love this song so much!!!
So wild to seem older after just watching so much footage from the 70s. Got to see them in 2002, only time I was able to catch them live, a very phenomenal concert, and that's already 20 years ago now, which is NUTS.
Did I mention that's nuts? Time f'kn FLIES. Jesus it really does. Wish I tried to catch them at least one time since then. Guess the opportunity has passed. At least I still have those good memories.
Best version yet!!!
Yes...as they advance in the years....STYX....only get beter....wonderfull cover.
Love this song...
Perfect Cover. Adore it as always.
Beautiful Tommy!!
amazing cover
So beautiful Tommy❤
Real talent
voice like an angel...
