      I disagree. We were dominant at the right time. Now we cannot be. Things go in cycles. We can however, still decide who may enter this country, why and for how long. If we choose to restrict potential arrivals, then it is not a crime - the problem with this 'not-so-Cleverly' bloke, is that he should stop immigration immediately and for 5 years, until we have sorted out who on earth is here already.

    I always found it profound that people from other countries look after their own elderly, but here in the UK they just chuck them into care homes and then most of the time refuse to visit them.
    I spent a lot of time in hospital when my nan was sick. The other patients kept saying how lucky she was because she had family constantly coming and going to see her. I even sat down and chatted with some and asked them if they were expecting a visit and the majority said no.
    If you look after your own elderly then you won’t have to employ people from abroad. Unless an elderly person has extreme complex needs that can’t be provided for in the home, or they have no family there’s no excuse for them to be in home.

The pain of that child to grow away from their mum or dad or both! No money sent will buy what they lost! My mum left to work abroad when I was 14, my dad left three years later. Now, 20 years later we are like strangers almost. Our world is breaking up family bonds on so many levels; and time spent with young children is not a priority still. Parents should not be allowed to or have to leave their young children behind. Nor should they have to go back to work to pay expensive care fees to keep a young child in a care institution. They should be encouraged to spend more time with their own family. More flexible part time jobs for parents!

    Why is the Government Immigration department choosing to stop the highly valued overseas nurses from bringing their family members with them when the real culprits to this problem should be tackling the never ending influx of thousands of illegal immigrates and their wives and children.

    • @Jonnyonthespot123
      @Jonnyonthespot123 8 месяцев назад

      That's simple. This government turned off every legal route to come here. They caused this problem. They tell you to get mad about it so you waste your time complaining about them and not the rich parasites at the top of the system stealing all of our money.
      Think of it as slight of hand, look over there not over here

    After Covid my particular heath trust employed international nurses that hadn’t previously happened. It’s not a generalisation to say they are dedicated and caring and less cynical than myself and British colleagues. They supported the nursing unions where we did not. I am impressed and humbled by people who leave their home countries who strive for better lives. Many as you say are mothers and some have left their children to seek better lives for their families. I say I couldn’t do that but I have not had to consider that. To then be told that they can not invite their children/ partners after we have encouraged them to come is cruel and dishonest

    The Tories will always want to have it both ways. We live on an island, which means we have always had new coming here, even when those people were Romans. The two main ways of populating an island are immigration or an increase in the current population. The Tories are used immigration as a weapon for decades and they are also against people getting more help from the government to make having more children easier. They cannot have it both ways. Thinking that they can exposes their views on who they think qualifies as British.

I’d just finished writing in the comment that immigration is a vital part of island life, so you clearly didn’t read it before you commented. If someone comes here from wherever and they have children and raise them in this country, those children are going to be British citizens, it’s been that way for 500 years. We are all from somewhere, far enough back.

    For many poor elderly people the price of social care at home is prohibitive average is £25 per hour - £1,500 per week (NHS website) for those upper middle class too busy or uncaring enough to look after their elderly family/disabled children perhaps will learn by hurtful experience that the word social is a positive constituent of a decent society.

Where would these dependents be housed, schooled ? What benefits would they get ? We've let everyone else in, don't suppose a few more would make any difference.😂
