what truth it is nonsense there is no murder in milk products and I can tell you the best because I live in a farm and the animals there are happy and have a beautiful life and are well cared for so there is nothing of truth in this video
@@jelleromme8680 We do not deny that cows have a beautiful life on some farms. But we steal their babys, we kill the babys for veal (most of the time) and ultimately we slaughter the cows when they aren't profitable anymore. That is true of all dairy farms. That is why we say that it is murder.

Me too. I found out all the information about standard practice and the industry labels associated with those products and it was the slaughter house footage that cemented the decision to go vegan.
My boyfriend said they are dumping more and more milk to waste each day.

The second guy was such a lovely chap. A gentle, open minded soul. Listened politely and didn't have any mental gymnastics or cognitive dissonance.
He was open to things he didn't know. Amazing to meet people like him. Gives hope in people. I'm certain he had a huge seed planted in him and possibly even went vegan.

Went vegan three months ago and now my gf who's mostly vegetarian with the once in a blue moon bit of chicken has even cut down on cheese big time and switched to oat milk for her cereal. It's nice to see my influence spreading to loved ones. What can I say, she's a great gal

months before I came vegan i actually stop drinking milk. something didn’t feel right with my body whenever I drunk it even though I had no history symptoms of lactose intolerance
I stopped drinking milk in 2005. I never liked it and I finally asked my doctor if I needed it. He flat out said "no. Do not drink that stuff. Try soy milk"
Back then soy milk was pretty much all there was. I'm so glad for all the different options now!

This activism keeps me hopeful. I need to get over my anxiety and do this too
I am also quite anxious talking to people, but I started going to the cube of truth in my city and I can really recommend it as a way of starting out with activism. I was so nervous, but once you just approach people, it is so easy to talk to them, also because you have the farming practice footage and everyone (except maybe the occasional psycopath) will admit that it is terrible. Most conversations I've had by far were positive
loved those first two:)) came so strong then changed so fast.. love people who are open to new information

I had that 'wake up' moment too, Joey, thanks to you and Gary Yourofsky. That's the moment I went from unenlightened vegetarian to ethical vegan, when I saw what happens in the dairy and egg industries. So grateful I made that change :)

A tiny but significant word slip-up at 1:06, where you called the cow an "it". But then you quickly corrected yourself. Thank you for doing that! I know you understand that truthful language is important in activism and euphemisms exist to cover the ugly truth. In our animal advocacy, it's SO important that we shine the light on the victims whom we're taught to view as mere "things" for our use, no matter how much discomfort this might bring into the conversation.

I was vegetarian for about three years. While watching tv, I saw a stable full of dairy cows in tiny pens, attached to milk machines. I was eating frozen yogurt. I looked down at my bowl and was like “Nope”. I put it in the sink and went vegan on the spot.

Hiya Joey. Yeah. That is what I used tae think. That there was a breed of cow that produced milk through eating grass. When I was in primary school we used tae get free bottles of milk and when I asked the teacher "Where does milk come from?" She told me that cows eat grass and then they chew the cud and that process produces milk. Finding out how milk is really produced. The cruelty involved. That has totally blown my mind.
She's definitely one of the 25% of the population that thought goat's milk was vegan

LOL, Was that girl at the end giving Mufasa's speech about the circle of life saying cows eat the grass we eat the cows, but she can't say we become the grass when we die. Our remains are just so precious they need to go into indestructible boxes and special little areas where said animals can't graze.
I live in a heavily populated area, and the only green area around here is the local cemetery. We use it as a park; we sunbathe, we drink beer on the grass, we walk our dogs, we even go on dates there. I literally wouldn't have any trees around if not for this special little area.

The cows are pregnant all year around and the estrogens, growth hormones, enter the milk and increase hormonal dependent cancers; breast, testicular, prostate cancer etc. Some kinds of milk can induce type one diabetes (auto immune disease) according to John McDougall
