also another way to screenshot without a app/ extension for chromebooks are you press ctrl, shift and the button at the top that is rught by the brightness on your keyboard (to the left) hopefully this helps!

The bottom should have a box and 2 lines next to it. To take record a video you have to do ctrl, shift and 5th button from the left on the top. Maybe your microphone isn’t on, if so you want to go to the corner where the time is and turn up the microphone so your computer can pick up what you’re saying
It’s a Lenovo 500e Chromebook 2nd Gen. I think they are pretty similar but there are definitely some differences. My chrome book came with a built in stylus which is nice.

You actually don't need screencastify! Just use shift+ctrl+the rectangle with two lines next to it and press the video button at the bottom
