Dog eating is a thing up north with Igorot people, I've seen it and I have to admit tried it too. The reason is when Americans colonized PH the Igorot people were treated differently, it was more of a friendly relationship. But was Ahole found the igorots "ancient people" and took some of them to america and displayed them in a zoo. To make them look like "savages" they gave them dogs to kill, prepare and eat for people in America to witness. In Baguio it's pretty easy to find a restaurant that sells dog meat. It's not legal of course

There is actually a law prohibiting the sale of dog meat that carries a hefty fine AND/or imprisonment. In fact there is an act (Republic Act no. 8485), which protects and promotes the welfare of all animals in the Philippines...

I'm so guilty of "eating dog meat", my friends eat dog meat several times and they love adobo the dog meat because they said it's the perfect dish for a dog meat. Not only was Tagalog mixed with other dialects to create Filipino but some words were also standardized.
Almost of the Filipinos speak English because almost of our subjects in school is in English language.
