Episode 8 - The Big Lake Crossing!

In this video we make the trek across Lake Michigan to Chicago from St. Joseph, Mi. This was a big deal for us which turned out to be fun and fairly simple. So exciting coming to Chicago!!

Reminds me of when i was in the navy. We were headed to the Philippines Subic Bay. We could smell it three days out.

we are crossing from grand haven Michigan to Chicago in a couple days. how long did it take you and what speed did you go?

We crossed from St Joseph and it was around 50 miles. We ran at 8 knots for around 6-7 hrs

How did you go about to find a mooring ball? Who or where did you call?

The mooring fields are shown on the charts in most cases. Other than that, just talking with other boaters.
