  • In this episode, we tackle the final stretch of the Dogfish River. It still manages to impress us with its beauty while still throwing us some challenges along the way as we flush out into Wilson Lake. We scout out the Naiscoot River as a possible means to move upriver on our return trip, but decide to portage instead after realizing the elevation gain and lack of water would pose significant challenges. After the lung-busting portage uphill, we enjoy lunch and a refreshing swim at a gorgeous unnamed lake before getting into Miskokway Lake. We briefly check out the downstream side of the Naiscoot River before moving on. Late in the day and the lack of water on the Naiscoot relegates us to an island campsite that we passed earlier, as we strategize our plan of attack for the final day. This covers day 3.
