Hi Tarika, as a Turkish I really liked how you cooked. We don't actually use cumin for this egg but will try that way too, it looks good. We use dry mint leaves for butter sauce instead of cumin. The rest is all same. Thank you for cooking this dish and showing other people. By the way try also the mint version, you're gonna like it :)

Nice 👍🏻 As a Turkish, I like your recipe. Though foreigners always assume we eat this for breakfast, we usually enjoy Çılbır as a main course dinner for weekdays. Also it tastes much like Mantı so sometimes it’s also made as a substitute
Anam Jamal well it’s somewhat hard to learn for western language speakers but it has similarities with Asian languages in terms of word and sentence structure. As it is with learning other languages you don’t have to be perfect, just keep trying
@@getcurried and a tip for you. You can crack the egg into a strainer to get rid of the watery part. It falls right through. Then when you cook it there's no stringy parts

Hi Tarika ! I am so happy that you are back on the channel, eventhough it'd been some time but I felt like telling you. I will try to make it for the mornings for Ramadan, seems like it's a filling dish. Thank you for your recipes. Have a nice day dear.
Presentation is good..I think it's not necessary to create a whirlpool to poach the eggs. Just drop the egg very gently by placing the cup near the water, so that the white and yellow will not separate..
She’s the best host for me to watch. I love her charisma and she doesn’t sound like she’s throwing in extra words/ phrases like the guy on here. Please make more video with her! She is very natural! That being said... this recipe seems like it would taste horrible.
U should try to get the excess liquid stuff off first by using a strainer and then continue with the making of it. U don't get that stringy whites that look not so nice. Just saying.
Also try not swirling the water for poached eggs. Actually it depends on how smoothly you drop the egg into water . The water being still is the key here actually .. that worked for me. Also I strained the white in a cup and added lemon juice on yolk which helped the egg and but of white stay bonded
@@lolareddy5117 true. Also the quality/freshness of eggs is a huge factor. When you break some eggs, you can see that the yolk is surrounded by a visibly thick white, holding its shape very well. Those are the perfect eggs for poaching.
I hard-boil a few eggs, slice them big, and pour over yoghurt and butter sauce. Lazy cilbir. Or you can mix hardboiled eggs yolks with yoghurt until smooth, again slice egg whites to big chunks, pour over yolk yoghurt and butter sauce. Again lazy style. O I do the first when time is limited, second when I am just lazy. Obviously, poached eggs will be best, but don't need to despair when they didn't. Most of the taste is from yoghurt and butter. Yolk when smoothed in, gives taste. Whites don't taste, they are for body.
Hey..That was nice..I saw same recipe by two other Turkish chefs.. Now, one question and one statement from me.. Q: Is Yoghurt the same stuff we Indians have been calling as curds or are their some deadly differences? Butter when cooked for a long time turns brown and has an earthy-nutty flavour, that's why it's commonly referred to as 'nutty butter' around the world.
