- Bitcoin developer Antoine Riard has identified and reported what he believes might be a major security risk in the Bitcoin Lightning Network. In a report recently published, Riard shared that the loophole could potentially endanger funds moving through the Lightning Network. This speaks to a much broader issue in the Bitcoin community and innovation in it's layer-2 projects.

i don’t see btc as a currency, rather it’s a global store of value, and as is works fine for that. it’s when you try to make it a global currency, is when you experience problems.. btc cannot scale to the level needed to function as such.

Don’t listen to them about Stacks. It’s the only SEC approved ICO in entire history of cryptocurrency. Big money like grayscale and blackrock will lift this thing to $80 per coin in a years time.

You bash it and say it is worthless than turn right around and say one day it could work. I think we all forget that the BTC ecosystem is still very young and is having some growing pains. In my opinion the only the only way to give a fair assessment is to ask the question, is the underlying BTC framework and foundation solid? If you say yes than it is not fair to say it is worthless just because there are some current shortcomings that need to be worked out. Now if you think the BTC framework and foundation is crap and not solid and sustainable, it is fair to say that in your opinion it is worthless, and adoption should be halted. This is just one man's opinion, your mileage may very.

Lightening is just a failed software project with no adoption. Just retire the thing. BTCB (BEP-20) and WBTC (ERC-20) are examples of bridged Bitcoin running on smart contract platforms, Turing complete with amazing composeability. An EVM compatible L2 for Bitcoin is all we need. Similar to the BEP-2 / BEP-20 relationship for BNB.
We already have the infrastructure and tps. It’s called L2 transactions. JP Morgan is using Ethereum for instance instead of btc’s janky “lightening” network. Seriously when will people wake up to the fact bitcorn is just a meme…
BS, my friend, BS. WBTC/BTCB are shitcoins. I am not saying LN is the future of BTC, but it's actually pretty close. It will remain forever, or until the BTC remains running. I am sure there will be L2/L3/L4 solution for BTC, but it's not here yet. Drivechains are OK, but still far from secure.
