  • Baseus was kind enough to send me its large capacity 30,000mAh, 65W power bank to check out and review on the channel. This will be the largest capactity battery I've ever looked at.
    Naturally, I'd be interested in putting it against the Steam Deck and the Asus Ally (see if we get the magic 30w Turbo) as well as running testing how long this battery will parallel play with your Deck (play while charging) and how much it will charge the Deck from dead to full (and how long).
    We're gonna break out the USBC multimeter and put its through its paces.

    I have two of these that I bought a year ago and still work great. They are great for charging my steam deck or switch and in a pinch my laptop. Batter is 114 Watt Hours, but you can take up to two of these size batteries on most domestic US Airlines.

    Cant wait to get this for my rog ally :)

      @@sefferjacint2431 Hello! Sure bro, i can do a full test on how long it takes for it to empty the battery at 30w. Havent really accurately measured how much time it takes before it fully runs out, but id say at least 2-3 hours at 30w (maybe 4 if the ally is fully charged too). I can test it if you want accurate info on it👍

    I really appriciate the real world test. Just doing the napkin math of watt hours in the bank versus watt hours in the deck's battery doesn't take the efficiency loss in converting 3.7v from the battery to 15 or 20 volts that a deck under load or charging my ask for.

    • @Darkuni
      @Darkuni  10 месяцев назад

      I'm really not a fan of napkin math. I usually do a sampling of 25 or 50% but I thought you know what? Let's do the full enchilada for this one. I'm glad it was helpful.

      you can just calculate rog ally has 40wh battery, baseus 30000mah= 30ah. 30x3.7 ~ 111wh. For example im using 15w. (plus 15w because of display/fan, etc.. consumption your power) so it means baseus using approximately 30w. now using 111/30 ~ 3.7 hours before baseus 100%-> 0%

      It is PD3.0, so it will work with any of these handheld PCs. But I don't have a Go, so I cannot test it for efficacy - 65W out SHOULD be enough - but I'm not familiar enough with the device. If you're in question? Go with the Anker 737. I have a review of that too.

      Are people with short lifespans using it twice a day for a commute? Draining and charging twice a day? I dunno.

      I attempted to do a sort of "average" parallel play solution. The testing doesn't run the game at 38w the WHOLE time. It goes up and down - if you're playing something that has that same draw the ENTIRE time, of course you'll get less parallel play time. My goal was to get a sort of average. You may also have been charging WHILE playing - which may give you a number that doesn't quite look the same. So many factors ...
