Having watched some of your videos I have just successfully taken out an old shower and tray and replaced it with a new bath and shower. The waste pipe was the dodgy bit, I came home from the bricomarche (France) with a huge bag of plastic bits and a can of solvent cement. All new to me. It was much easier than I thought it would be, and I had to do it, there aren`t any plumbers round here. Many thanks.
I used powerful neodymium magnets on a wooden bath panel 5 or so years ago. Still holding strong and looks much better then screws with caps on :D keep up the good work
Hi mate. I'm just refurbing my bathroom (a quick job) and removed the old wooden/laminate panel. It had a little lip at the top where the panel lip would fit into the groove under the bath. What I don't get anout your method is that you've not added any silicone at the top of the panel (where the plastic clips are). Wouldn't that mean water could get through this area via capillary action. Thanks very much for the inspiration btw...
What about adding a bit of polythene around the battons where they run on the ground to prevent any potential water ingress from rotting them over the years? Use a stabler to pin up four side of the polythene.
I'm about to fit mine with magnets but in a completely different way. I've bought a kitchen door panel that fits perfectly and some round magnets that fit in the door's hinge holes. And it will all stick to the metallic frame I've built under the bath. Under the panel I have about 10mm gap, so I'll add some small feet to keep it from sliding down.
Love that magnet idea dude,I’ve been using Velcro pads for years, done a wooden yesterday in fact finishing off the bathroom I was doing but going to give that a go next time 👊🏻
Never been a fan of plastic bath panels but I guess with a curved bath you don't have much choice. I've never bothered with the provided clips either, just use silicone. Not much point in those magnets if you're just going to silicone it in place anyway.
Easiest way to cut bath panel is an angle grinder with a tile disc cuts through like warm butter. You dont need no wood supports. No jagged edges. 1 mins and your done. Try it next time.
@@stuntmanwill the wall ones were screwed so he could carry on fitting the panel without it moving.he only put silicone on it as cos why not it’s belt an brace’s. He only siliconed the floor cos he was leaving it over night as he had to wait for the magnet latches to dry on the panel before he could continue,it’s a 2 day process
I was wondering exactly the same about siliconing the bottom of the panel to the floor to stop water leaking from outside onto the floor (eg splashes while you’re in the bath/shower falling into the floor outside of the bath, then running under the panel and under the bath). I was planning to silicon as you describe, however I also wanted to allow a way for water to escape in case something leaks under the bath (e.g. the taps leak or the waste connection for example). I wanted to allow water out of underneath the bath, but not in. I’ve no idea how I could achieve such a solution. Anyone ever achieved this?
that big old gap at the bottom. I wouldn't stand it knowing how wet my floor gets every bath. Sealed pannel or no pannel at all. not bad but not perfect either
As the face of plumber parts you influence a lot of people ,no good wearing gloves to protect your girlie hands but not wear hearing protection or eye protection ,we should all lead by example . Brilliant videos
Great Video James and nice trick with the magnets. My Father in Law has asked me to watch this video because he's wants me to put a panel on his bath. I think I'm screwed !
Mate just get 2 hardboard panels and bend 'em around. Joint it up with a 25mm nozel on tthe sillicone gun. Honestly, why do bathroom supliers get away with not giving all the the basic bits you need. Bogs have gaping 10mm holes now at stupid angles. Pretty sure you are sposed to use the massive amont of clips they gave you on the bottom aswell.
Bought this ruclips.net/user/postUgkxVoi3B4CB6Oygq1-vo4OTL1M_M5JkrXif tub to use in a photo shoot and it is so cute. Looks just like a picture and is easy to assemble.
I wish I could be your 40 year old apprentice we'd have a right bath, I'm mean laugh! "Hold it" is what we use to say to eachother growing up. Your "hold tight" is mighty similar. Laterzzzzzz
I'm not tiling under my bath as I don't want the bath any higher and the floor is already water proof. I don't want any plumbing cut in to the floor, I want everything easy to access and repair and I want to meet all regulations.

I love how your tile line in floor is inlibe to you bath panel. Perfect job

Too stuff mate!
Thanks
I love forward planning and future proofing for easy access for maintenance / repairs. Nice work James!!

Great workmanship, love the use of the magnets.👍👍
Do you seal round the bottom of the bath as well? You didn’t show that in the video but said you would be doing some more later on?
How do you stop water getting through the lip at the top of the panel ane especially the bottom. Thanks
love the magnets idea. many thanks.
Magnets. A great idea. Far more attractive without visible screws
Great video! Do you have a link for the magnets used in this?
Great vid buddy. One question though so I’m not going mental… did you mean parallel, not perpendicular?
A very good Sunday morning to you all from Wellington Somerset

Yup, can't believe he didn't seal off the bottom edge of the panel for the exact same reason, untreated softwood plus water =rot.
Put a bead of silicon behind the panel to act like a dam
Thanks for all the vids. Fitting my ensuite next week. Wish me luck
How does the bottom lip get under those cemented blocks.
Where is the rest of this series? Did you finish it?

Great video James, lovely and easy to understand 👍🏻🍻
Can't see the magnets on your store, can you pop a link up?
Hey what type of laser did you use for lining up?

Awesome timing, I'm currently in the middle of a DIY en-suite refurb and will be fitting a J bath exactly like this one in the next couple of weeks

Can you reccomend a good quality but not ridiculously priced concealed shower kit?

Have you tried an angle grinder with a tile cutter or metal disk? Quick and clean 😀
Where do you get the adjustable corner supports?
What glue did you use to fix the wood onto the tile? Tia
Hippo pro 3.
Amazing work James have a great weekend mate 👍🙏
Nice job James.
I'm not finding the adhesives in your store, that you use in the video !!
Are you going to do anymore videos of this series?
Yes I am! 😎

Brilliant work ill remember this 👍 it may take abit longer this way but its done right
You are the Don!
Why do those wooden battens need to both be screwed and glued? Seems like major overkill. And does the bottom of the bath panel not need sealant?
Don’t be a mong
The ones on the wall were screwed, the ones on the floor were glued.

Great video James, hope your well mate 👍🏼👍🏼
Great video you got that all in 16 min 💪 Wish i had your editing skills. Maybe a video
Looking good 👍👍👍

Great video! Bathroom looking great but please can you remove the label from the side of the toilet bowl!
Brilliant
Come and do my L shaped panel for me 😅 I’ve already got a massive gap between the top of the panel and floor 🙈
But James, spiders will come out under the bottom 😫. I’m just a home owner trying to avoid a heart attack 😆
Those particular magnet catches are weak as p*** whenever I've used them

Did you run out of tiles to do under the bath? Also get yourself a dustpan and brush so you can sweep up all the rubbish that you left under the bath.
great job james. £500 to fit the bath. £5000 to fit the bath panel. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

used to do this with tiling panels so the whole thing look hidden.

Can't beat a 4" angle grinder with diamond blade for cutting any plastic! Can do it one handed! As long as you've got a steady hand 😊

I hope you removed the crap left around the bath before putting on the panel!
With the thumbnail in mind, Be careful, those magnets might electrocute you, they got unlimited power or something :D

Did you leave all that rubbish under the bath🤔
Why didn't you tile under the bathtub, such shoddy work it amazes me the standard of uk bathrooms compared to European bathrooms.

This is the way to fit a bath thb panel but this can be a way. Not impressed with these panels always flimsy and woobly.
So much more complicated than it looks
still not perfect that is why you cover it with rug 😁😁😁
Not a great finish. Looks pretty cheap
You mean parralel noy perpendicular. An error like this throws the rest into doubt.
