A very good review on the Orient Altair watches. I own the white, blue hands one you reviewed, & I must say, I have none of the paint defects you have. I was surprised as Orient's QC is normally of very high standard, especially compared to their bigger brother company, Seiko. I've looked at mine using a 20X Loupe & not one defect, I tried hard to find one. I am pleased I couldn't find a defect & seems perfect. You should try it on a navy blue leather strap, I think you'd be impressed. I own a few Orients, including two Bambinos & I would buy these over any Seiko 5 alternative, I like the slender profile of the case. As for the screw on back, I actually prefer the matt finish over the gloss shiny finish, as you can see the emblem & watch description details far better, but the glossy does look more expensive & better quality The Matt finish doesn't look as bad when they get sweaty & dirty; I have glossy back watches & they massively show up sweat, dirt & finger marks.
Thanks for such a good review.
    Bless

The second one is my favourite!

The second watch has a misaligned hour marker (10) which looks like it’s pointing at the wrong angle.

It is not so much what I expect, it is what I encounter.
