    Back in the days when the whole family watched TV 'together', were entertained, laughed out loud & enjoyed each other's presence. Great days...Fast forward,...now 2021 Covid/Corona era, all family at home due to lockdown, but everyone in their room on social media, detached from whoever is sitting next to them and trying to connect with people who are not there.... sad reality.
    I prefer the old days.

    I'm an Aussie, born in '61, grew up with Hoges, i always tell Americans the country of Australia stops for 3 things, Melbourne Cup, 11/11, and The Paul Hogan Show!!!! And its very true!
    Plus the Australian government should be ashamed of themselves for going after him for tax evasion, the man has done more for Australia than pretty much anyone!
    They should've made him "tax exempt" for his contribution to Australia's profile!!!!!!!!!!!

    At least one Crocodile Dundee film was shown on British TV every month when I was growing up and my mum used to say that Paul Hogan had never done anything on film or TV before and the producers discovered him in the outback and told him to just be himself. Now I discover that he was a comedian and big star in the 70s lol!

    • @MarcPiery
      @MarcPiery 2 года назад +4

      That’s not true. In order for that statement to be true, there actually has to be comedy today. I’m sorry, but nervous laughter from watching and listening to some idiot swearing enough to make sailors, long shore men, and construction workers blush isn’t comedy. It’s what stand up “entertainers” do when they have nothing.

    Brung up in the UK and educated in Aus, I loved Paul Hogan, he was the one to watch, he cracked me every time I watched him. But what happened to The Norman Gunston Show? from what I can remember he was a bloody good interviewer, he took the piss out of Paul Mc Cartney, Gough Whitlam and Paul Hogan. Sadly I see nothing today that can compare. Please if you know of any decent Aus comedians let me know, I`m always on the lookout for a good Aus laugh without pointless swearing or political agenda`s.

    Live to see the full series seasons on this. It was a damn bloody great show. Over the years, I've tried finding it on 'peer-to-peer sharing platforms', but to no avail. So maybe, we'll never get to see them in their full glory again. 😤

    This also includes one of the nicest men I have ever met. Mister John Blackman. The voice of Dickie Knee. (gets messed up on the beach and does nearly all of the voice overs as he was GTV9's announcer). I love the guy, and wish him well.

    That was great, thanks for posting this. He was a mix of Benny Hill and Dave Allen. The Benny Five O spoof was barking mad!

    Maybe I'm too young, but I've not heard of this guy. But he really is quite the comedy genius. Meant to joke and take the mick good ol' Aussie style. Love him.
