    Another risk in regards to leaves on the line in track circuit block signalling areas is that the film that builds up on the railhead can also prevent the trains wheels from shorting out the small current through the rail which lets the interlocking & signallers know where a train is.
    This can cause a range of wrong side failures, imagine for example a train has stopped in an auto section and fails to short the current through its wheels it essentially "disappears" the auto signal in rear would then instantly show a proceed.
    This is just one of many examples of potential wrong side failures that leaffall can cause to signalling systems.
    So we all love RHTTs 😁
    Some perspective from a grade 9, mainline TCB signaller.
    I love your videos, it's great to learn what drivers deal with and their thought process .
    Cheers Bobby

    Before I came to GB as a TMO, I shunted these for DB Cargo. Can confirm, they’re awful to shunt, handbrakes can be a real nightmare because they get caked up in grime, and the dirt on the pipes, couplings and such like make it a very messy job, and it stinks 😂

    Nice video I have seen Matt mention on the TSW forums that the water particle effect will be updated in a future update and that it will be layered into other DLC in the future. See the posted titled TSW 3 Loco DLC first impressions under the TSW PlayStation Discussion section.

    Make me wonder if the some of the infrastructure monitoring trains will be add to the game in the future, also if a coop mode existed I feel these would be perfect one being the driver and another being the operator.

    it does say in the release that low adhesion on the rail is not simulated, which is a bit of a shame

    The leaves on the line thing you're talking about, you saying people only say it's exclusive to UK is extremely ignorant. Where I live in Brisbane, Australia, an electric passenger train crashed through train station due to the exact reason. There were eucalyptus leaves on the railhead and the train applied full service braking but it just slid along the track, through the stopping buffer and into the station building. This was in Cleveland. ATSB (Australian Transportation Safety Board, Australian version of NTSB), determined due to wet weather and eucalyptus leaves on the railhead. When they examined the trains black box they determined the driver did everything correctly in terms of the procedures of the braking and approach to the station and particular platform.

      Hi Jason, indeed people in the UK like to say that it doesn’t happen abroad. As you’ve highlighted it 100% does and if not managed correctly can be very dangerous indeed

    It does look like another rush job as they could have easily used some of the steam effects from the kettle to make the jet spray look good and she shed looks clean compared to a proper RHTT shed.

      They have said the particle effects will be upgraded, which means they know they are not great. I suppose you then ask the question, why release it if you know?

    That is DB because EWS is not a TOC anymore and all the EWS class 66 and other train owned by EWS when to DB and put the DB sticker on them.

    • @DadRail
      @DadRail  2 года назад

      You are correct, however EWS was a FOC and not a TOC. All EWS locos are now DB Cargo as you rightly say.
