I remember being a kid on one of these and being thrilled at the train tilting around bends. I think this was the train which ignited my fear of derailing, and then the virgin trains pendolino crashed.
A horrific event that never should have happened, but worth noting the modern design features of the train were credited as one of the factors that saved many lifes
At one of the stations I visited in game, I found a Cat on top of a ticket machine. I couldn't believe it at first. Love the details and fun in this title.
Good tip I learned for stopping at Watford Junction in the 390 is as you pass the speed limit for 110 you pass the station Bushey if you move to brake step 2 as you enter the platform and hold it there you should get into the platform at a reasonable speed also I believe TASS is Tilt and Speed Supervision
I've travelled on the Pendalino quite a few times up North and I must say it does look pretty accurate. The lighting looks a bit off in the interior as it isn't as white in real life. Sounds are pretty good, overall a good route and can't wait to pick it up!
OMG this is amazing. A real train driver tests a train simulator. I like the way u talk and how u talk. Amazing video and definitely gonna subscribe!!🔥🔥🔥❤❤❤❤
I have travelled on the 390's all the working life of the train as I am on the WCML I have even been in the cab of a pendolino when the sets were new well 2 or 3 years old!
I've been holding off buying TSW5 purely because the new versions are coming way too fast - it always seems like the next one is coming out just after I've bought the last one. But then I saw the Pendolino and I'm soooooo tempted! What I felt TSW 3 and 4 were lacking was some really good routes in and out of London, which is also a temptation for me to buy TSW5. I miss the Greater Anglia services from Liverpool Street to Ipswich that were in TS Classic and wish they would put those in a newer version. And also, I'd like to see some longer routes - by that I mean the whole length of the route; in the case of this video, I'd love to be able to operate the service all the way to Blackpool from Euston.
Sorry this is a large comment I was writing things down as they came to mind. Great video. Nice to see a couple of sparks coming off the panto as you left Euston. What are you running the game on, and what version of the game is it? The track does need some debris, works materials and removed track sections. It looks way too new. Also needs track workers here and there. Track shadows are good. Needs a lot more AI in general especially local traffic. I think the in cab bounce is from the drivers seat, the Azuma seat bounces around. Do trains have Air suspension seats like large trucks? There is a fair bit of rubber-banding going on, even when the AI left the Watford Junction. When the Pendo went through the tunnel coming towards you the whole train was lit up. When the 350 came though it was only lit by the 390 lights which is as it should be. The 390 sounds are a little off, but okay. I have a 390 in cab vid from Euston to Manchester and in the cab the track makes more noise than the transmission.
I was watching a video by Dovetail about the train/route and they said they couldn't get a east coast main line recording for the motors sounds ect, so they just carefully manipulated existing sounds they had for the Class 390 😊
12:08 imagine i just mentioned the suggestion of that route and then you go on to talk about it🤣 Hope they add it man, it makes sense! Otherwise why add the 377🤷🏽♂️
Sorry to say. WCML south in train sim classic is so much better: 350 has the TOC livery on. 390 has somewhat decent sounds (get the AP one) The full route
I believe with the Deluxe version you get the class 390, whereas the standard version is the route and the 350. Early access is just one of the perks, but there is more content included.
Regarding your comment about you only sitting in standard, theres been a couple times before where ive shown the TM my staff pass and they send you to standard premium (or first if you're lucky 😉) just a tip! Great video!
Once again a nice video! But track shadows sounds like a TSW5 feature, but as Matt showed us, this is only for new routes available. When using route hopping at Fulda the shorter rendering distance of the tracks were proudly shown as contrast to us on Kassel Würzburg. This fact is showing us the unlucky way the system was programmed. Having such a key parameter in each route based on the included track element although it is such a basic parameter which should be handled separately. Perhaps waiting for a sale on your prefered route is the best way to switch to the new version. Up to now there is so little improvements that even the free version will only cause a heavy download for a photomode v1.1 an improved map and route hopping, which is not relevant for me, playing only single rides each session. Just my point of view watching this and other previews.
I dont get the secretness (not a word lol) around the 377, haven’t seen a second of video time on it, but its cant play much of part from whag im anticipating. I really hope they add watford - east Croydon as a dlc because theres plenty of layers and work already done that could make that route make sense
The correct word here would be secrecy. Also, it would be "because there are plenty of layers" as there's is the contraction of "there is" and is is singular whilst layers is a plural.
Loool thanks for the grammatical corrections. Looking back on it is comical! Lets not avoid my point though, do you agree with it or doesn’t it bother you?
i just bought the class 390 separately and it isn’t appearing for me when I go on the west coast main line, anyone know the fix for this or why it’s not showing ?
@@cauapro08 yes i was able to download it, usually when i download a game, its add-ons download automatically with it but with this one i had to go on manage add-ons and download it separately. bit weird but that’s how it was for me on my Xbox Series X.

I'll check back again in late 2025. Maybe they'll figure out by then how to model objects around the train properly, so they don't change the level of detail when you're 100m from them.
Valid feedback, although I think it’s done like this to save on performance. TSW is already really performance heavy, so compromises have to be made to keep a half decent frame rate.
@@DadRail For sure but let's be honest, this isn't the best looking game out there to start with. And it doesn't offer a massive, open world either. There's only so many objects that have to be rendered at once. They really need to optimize TSW better. I was hoping TSW 5 would finally get rid of these rendering issues but nope.
So a typical DTG route then. Underdone, not as long as it could/should have been, timetable lacking out of the box. The features that TSW 5 brings in are nice, but really there's nothing to justify a new iteration of TSW over TSW 4, it's basically the same game. Also not a fan of the new fad of releasing a route and a loco pack at the same time just to charge us twice. It looks nice enough, if a bit too 'clean', but I'll likely be just grabbing the free upgrade to TSW 5 (that is a decent thing DTG have done at least) and picking up the Preston-Carlisle route when it's released and I'll get the WCML & 390 in a future sale

If the tilt was to be disabled, would your speed then have to be reduced going round certain bends?
Yes, you’d run to non-EPS speeds (110 instead of 125, for example)
Are Watford junction and Milton Keynes central the only 2 stops then? It's a shame if it doesn't at least stop at some of the intermediate stations.
The class 350 does the stopping services as well as the 710 and Bakerloo line trains on the south end of the route.
We know what the west, south & east coast is and also , so what route is considered to be the north coast?
