I'm Molly, a typical sushi, makeup, and fashion loving millennial girl who just so happens to be blind! I was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa at just 4 years old and began public speaking at age 5. I started just doing motivational speaking, but now I make videos and even model! Even though I can’t see, I know that there are bright spots in everything we face. Let’s find them together. 💕

I trained a guide dog puppy. We had to adopt her when she failed her hip test. I still keep parts of her training going including this one. She stops at stairs with paws on first step. Much better than our other dog who just runs up the stairs pulling us behind her.
when im tired, i thank my dog for pulling me up the hill. i would attach my stake board to his harness and ride, but theres no more flat land where i moved:/
Is it that he puts his feet on the steps so someone can somehow sort-of feel on their dog how high the step is going to be too ?

guide dogs and service dogs are so incredible. The way they're trained to help people with so many issues.
It's interesting seeing little differences and how they're trained. At least in the past, guide dogs and seeing eye dogs or taught to stop just before the step instead of with their feet on it. That may have changed in the years since my parents were alive. But it makes more sense the way Elton is trained.
It's also useful that they put their front paws on it so you can feel the difference in the handle and maybe how high the step is.

French. He like all her previous guide dogs were trained in Quebec where they speak French. The school was the only school on Canada to allow teenagers to get guide dogs. She got her first guide dog at 13.

They are not unnecessarily, she still has Light perception.

Many blind people wear sunglasses for a variety of reasons. Either they have extreme light sensitivity due to their remaining vision, or they just want to keep their eyes protected from UV rays because even if they can’t see, the eyes still need protection. Also, unfortunately, many blind people are to be self-conscious about their eyes and will wear sunglasses just to hide the way their eyes look. It’s actually more of a stereotype for a blind person to wear sunglasses, so basically we can’t win for losing. When we wear them, we constantly get asked why we would need them if we are blind… If we don’t wear them, we get told “you’re not really blind, all blind people wear sunglasses“.

@@vesnaperos1895she's blind....she comes into contact with people every single day...so is she crazy when she meets a new friend??? When she meets a cousin she's never seen before??? Hangs on ut with her friends other friends she's never seen before? Yeah, she ain't crazy, she's BLIND! You kinda have to trust your friends and family to tell ya what something/someone looks like... and THAT, takes a lot of confidence, which YOU could end up defeating someone else's confidence with your misguided comment. It's called "trusting" her family/friends. It's not called being crazy.
