  • We will complete Dobby from round 11 though the completion and attachment of his ears. This videos take a little longer than the straight crocheting because any time you add sewing with a needle things just take longer!! The ears are use a couple different stitches but I go slowly and explain them. This is a great project to increase your knowledge in some of the other stitches that are used in crochet patterns. My kit was a bit short on yarn so I am using a yarn that I had on hand. If you find that you don't have enough yarn or any of the other staples for this project in your stash, I have included some affiliate links. Happy Crafting!!
    Harry Potter Crochet Kit: amzn.to/363QKEJ
This kit is on sale right now!!
This is a nice selection of light weight yarn for a great price. You get a variety of colors that are great for these kits: amzn.to/3089wHf
Here are some additional items that are great to have on hand. You will need the eyes for Dobby unless you want to use what comes with the kit. If you are planning to make more than a couple of items, you will have to buy additional eyes at some point.
This is a nice set of crochet hooks with a bonus of large eye needles to do the embroidery with: amzn.to/33TOVHK
This set of stitch markers has 100 pieces in a variety of colors:

    Safety eyes: amzn.to/2RYnFCt
This will give you enough for many projects!

You are so helpful. Thankyou ❤ before I watched your videos, I was so confused and almost gave up cause I could find anything. Once I found you, you explained things so much better. Thankyou

This is my first time doing amigrumi - first time crocheting at all actually!! I've been learning the basics of crocheting over the past 2 months before starting this project. And even still, it's been confusing. I needed a visual guide, and you came through! Thank you! My partner is going to loooove this gift for xmas. Wish me luck!

@@CraftingwithNana I successfully completed the project with the help of your videos!!!! It's not as perfect a Dobby as I hoped it would be, but it's still super cute. My bf will love it.
      So thank you again!

Thank you so much for the videos! I'm not sure I would've been able to follow the pattern without them.
I just wanted to let you know that I think your ears diverge slightly from the pattern and are attached backwards. (the double crochet step is trying to create the pointy tips of dobby's ears I believe.)
Also for the sock in video 4: I found more success getting a result that looks like a sock by following the pattern with the thin wool they provide for sewing the mouth instead of the thicker black wool (they provided just enough to make the sock)
    Thanks again!

Thank you so much for your videos! Could we start these ears with a magic circle instead?

    • @CraftingwithNana

Yes I feel like you can almost always use a magic circle rather than a slip knot. I’m so glad you are enjoying the videos. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any more questions!

What should i do if the nose protrudes out quite a bit from the rest of his face or is it even a problem at all? he's kind of got a snout 😂

    • @CraftingwithNana
      @CraftingwithNana  Год назад +1

That’s funny!! You can take a yarn needle and some yarn and make some stitches that will soften the protrusion. Let me know if that works! It is what I would do
