      I actually have already completed the project and I am just editing the videos now. If you can be more specific as to which parts are difficult to follow, I can do some videos on those points. Also, you might check out the Yoda videos because they were the first I did and I think I went a lot slower there. Many of the stitches are the same in both kits. I can’t refilm Harry Potter, but I can certainly make some short videos on certain points. Thank you for writing

    • @CraftingwithNana

      I would suggest that since you have the kit, follow me on the Dobby videos. I can’t go back and film Harry Potter again but I have tried to slow it down in Dobby. That will help you with some of the basic stitches and practice to them go back and make Harry Potter. Another good practice video is Yoda from the Lucy Collins Star Wars kit. I have playlists for both of these. Also be patient with yourself, you may have to just go over and over a video a couple times. I’m so sorry that I can’t go back and film it again.

      I thought I posted already but I don’t see my reply to you so if this is redundant, I’m sorry! Please check out my magic circle video. It is only about 3 minutes but it is slow and shows how to do it easily. I don’t always use that on a project. For instance, next week on Dobby’s ears, I use a slip stitch to start. I think it is easier to do the beginning 6 using the magic circle.

    • @CraftingwithNana
      @CraftingwithNana  3 года назад +3

      Hi and welcome! I used a 3.5mm hook also sold as E. Sometimes the hook says one or may have both stamped on it. If you use a bigger hook or larger yarn you will just get a bigger Harry Potter. I hope this helps!

  • @lauraharms1502
    @lauraharms1502 4 года назад

    Help needed... I am making Hagrid from this book and was hoping you could help with one part. Round 29 after changing to black yarn they are asking for a sl stitch. When I make this stitch it goes on the inside of the work. Should I be going through both loops? Just doesn't seem to work

    • @CraftingwithNana
      @CraftingwithNana  4 года назад

      Hi and welcome! Yes...you will start on the outside of your work with one loop on your hook. You will insert it into the next stitch (through both loops of the stitch) yarn over your needle, pull back through the stitch and through the loop on your hook. At this point you will be back to the outside of your work with one loop on your hook.

    Hey Nana! After browsing through your videos for this kit, I think they will be very helpful. However... can you please confirm that I'm not losing my mind... the authors head proportions pattern is off right? The pictures show a small almost ping pong ball size head. But once you add rows 5-11, it's so much bigger! Like too big! It looks basket-like instead of round. Maybe this is the issue with the hair not fitting too?
    I wonder if this was a typo. Do you think it's possible to eliminate 3-4 rounds and get better looking results? Sorry for the long comment.

    • @CraftingwithNana
      @CraftingwithNana  2 года назад +1

      Hi Jill! Yes, I agree. The head does seem out of proportion. As I went through the kit, there are several of her patterns that don’t make a great deal of sense and I modified them. But when the overall projects are finished they are cute 😊.

    • @CraftingwithNana
      @CraftingwithNana  2 года назад +1

      Also, you could certainly try to eliminate round three and four. The worst that will happen is that you tear it out. If you eliminated and like the look… Would you post a picture on Instagram and share it? That would be great for those who are still making it. Have a great day!

    I can’t really see what you’re doing to start off. I feel that’s where the most detail is needed in a tutorial because the first few rounds are so tricky because you can barely see the stitches. I couldn’t tell if there were two single crochets in each stitch or only in the first stitch and then it’s single crochets all around… 😢
