Prog, pop, rnb, trap, it's all there. The songs Oh My Dis Side, Maria, 90210, Impossible, Drugs and many more took me to a completely new dimemsion from a musical standpoint. Turned me into a hip hop fan, as someone who's been into metal in my teenage years and indy these last years. Travis Scott ripped away the curtain of preconceptions I had about hip hop, and I'm so glad I'm not the only one it happened to.

I think his lavish production and very unique style (especially in his first album) will really interest you, and he's hugely important in the overall culture as one of the first to shift away from gangster style rap in the early 2000s. Try something like Jesus Walks or Through the Wire from his first album, or maybe Drive Slow or Gone from his second for a good introduction to his early style.

If you want Travis at his most Pink Floyd-esque, you must react to Oh My Dis Side. That's his definitive progressive track and contains possibly the best beat switch of the decade.
