  • Join me as I go over my top 15 best Game Of Thrones moments. I figured that with the highly anticipated 7th season starting up, that now would be a good time to look back at some of the highlights.
All material used from Game Of Thrones is owned by HBO!
I used this material to support my opinions.

Great list. Of course, mine would be different, lol. I was surprised that you left off what I consider Dany's greatest moment...When the slaver's say her reign is over and she says "My reign has just begun." then mounts Drogon and burns their fleet...Amazing! I would also add the scene where Dany makes Tyrion Hand of the Queen, I get so emotional every time I watch that scene. It's such a rare and pleasant change to be overcome with positive emotions while watching this show. I also would choose the fight with Oberyn and the Mountain, talk about being overcome by emotion...you go from so happy that the viper has won to the dread of his grandstanding to the horror of his defeat, great moment. I would leave out Arya killing Walder Frey, that felt like total fan service and it didn't resonate with me, it came too out of nowhere and just doesn't make sense to me.

Danys moments were definitely the hardest to choose from. She has a lot of good ones. Now that you mention it, that Drogon scene should have been included probably. Only having 15 slots did require some sacrifices but oh well. I understand why you'd feel underwhelmed by Arya killing Frey but to me it was finally getting to the point for her. We spent so much time beating around the bush. We knew that she wanted to avenge her family so it was good to finally see her make good on that. Thanks for commenting though! Great show!

I think that's exactly the problem with Arya killing Frey. We spent so much time with Arya that was "filler" and then we don't see her doing all of the cool shit she learned in killing someone who I was invested in seeing die. Instead of all the time spent in Braavos they could have wrapped that up many episodes sooner and let us see Arya A) travel back to Westeros and the Riverlands; B) choose and kill the girl who's face she wore; C) infiltrate the Twins; and D)somehow manage to kill, butcher and cook two very prominent members of a very paranoid family in a highly populated and well guarded castle. That's a lot of good story that I would have liked to see. For me, not having any of that backstory made it all flash, no substance.

I do agree with all of that. The set up was not very strong. I do think that there is substance there in the red wedding episode. You get the backstory for why Arya wanted him dead. It's just that they should have skipped some of the filler and done more of what you said. But looking at the act itself, I was glad to see it.
