Love Korra, season 3 and 4 are bangers! But PLEASE consider watching My Hero Academia Dub (basically Harry Potter but with super heroes, but better!), and Hunter x Hunter Dub! Please let us know if it’s possible one day. They are so much more fun than Death Note and Attack on Titan for example.
I always felt Lin is just a bit of an abrasive personality in general. It isn't just toward Korra, she is tough and strong. Toph use to show affection by punching someone in the arm and teasing them. Lin is just a bit more serious I think. Plus though she got her bending back from Korra and obviously appreciated it, that doesn't just completely flip her personality. As for Mako, I think since he expressed how much he was worried and feared for Korra in last season maybe he was trying to be gentle with her, only for it not to work.
i was kinda confused why they thought lin was out of character i mean this has always been her personality regardless of who she's talking to. she's less bitter towards korra but that doesn't take out her kinda sardonic traits
I honestly think Korra and Mako should never got together. It was more of a lust or wanting something they couldn't have? We also have to remember this team avatar is older and live in a time of peace and not world war so everyone is comfortable. Pudgey hit the nail on the head when she said everyone is going their own way and doing as their own stuff we see that this season but we also see team avatar come back when needed. Can't wait for you to continue because from here it goes to 100 everytime now that all the ground work is set.
It’s not so much that Lin has reverted back to her old self but she does have a job to do as Chief and now has to deal with the repercussions of what Korra started. Not to mention being interrupted while in an important meeting with the president by a rookie cop. Also don’t forget, she did give Mako a job. Old Lin never would of let him on the force
I like that Lin didn't suddenly change her whole personality. She is who she is. She's Toph's daughter after all. But I do think she acts a bit softer towards them. She would never have hired Mako or told that little joke about Tenzin breaking up with her otherwise, just to use some examples. I've never seen her as a "best friend" to them but as a mom. Hear me out on this... lol She is more protective of them now in that way moms are, but she gets frustrated when they do dumb things... as moms do. (Can you tell Lin is my favorite character? 😅)
Yes, it's weird to expect her to undergo a complete and total transformation of character - she will always be stern, it's part of who she is. Apparently Sparta doesn't mind strong female characters turning into simps! But as you point out, she has allowed herself to relax to the point where she could joke about her failed personal relationship - and she had previously kept it secret, kept it safe
So Bolin is a rat for suggesting maybe mako told the president, but the actual snitch Mako is fine for telling the president what Korra was doing in order to help her tribe because the president asked him to and it's for his career?
yeah not really fair as Bolin slipped up without any ill intent as he assumed Mako was on their side of things but Mako knew full well what he was doing by telling the president.
Thing is many fans haven't seen the original Team Avatar beyond their times as kids When they grow up to be teenagers and adults like the current team ..They also grew apart from each other

Nah, neither Mako nor Bolin was wrong here. Bolin had no way of knowing Mako would be confronted by the president. And Mako... while yes, it can also be seen as a betrayal, honestly i admire his courage. Because that couldn't have been a decision he made lightly. This is one of the reasons i enjoyed LoK so much. Like atla, a lot of it hits home in that in some situations, like this one, there is a LOT of grey. Mako wasn't wrong in telling president raiko. Korra wasnt wrong for being upset. Now, had Korra asked mako directly herself to NOT tell anybody, that may be different. This is one of those experiences where you as an individual can do everything right and still lose.
Looking back at this episode as an adult, I think this is what really made me dislike Korra this season. As snakey as Raiko is, he is right. Korra's temper and hot-headness was just about to escalate this civil war into a much larger conflict. It's one thing to negotiate and ask for aid but when that didn't work she tried to FORCE Republic City into a war without consent from their leader. Mako should've tried to stop Korra one more time before going to Raiko, but frankly him foiling her plan was the best thing he could've done for her...🤷♀️
Probably one of the worst episodes in the series. Korea retuning to Republic City demand they use thekr army to help stop a civil war she created. Then she's upset with Marco from not following everything she said when the time she did whatever she wanted, she caused a war. She takes no type of responsibility.
Did you just say that korra doesn't take responsibility? Have you seen the series? The entire southern people would be wiped out what would she do but ask for help. and mako just stabs her in the back just because he's a cop. he takes his job as a police officer more important than his girlfriend/friend's family and the entire South Pole
@@warsameyassin5993 I for one have no problem with Mako snitching but he could at least have given her a head's up. like "hey babe something happened at work, i had to snitch, i'm sorry how can i make it up to you" but mans just went right back to work like it was more important. what an asshole lol still love him tho.
Honestly, the thing I hate the most about book 2 is the character assassination of Lin. Frankly, Korra, at least in the first half, isn't too far behind her. I understand that book one was initially supposed to be the only one so they had to "reset" some of these characters but they did it in the worst way possible.
@vgfunman no they are not. Her character in book 2 is completely antithetical to her character in book 1. They turned her into a bumbling idiot that couldn't see clear as day evidence right in front of her face and kept trusting the two most blatantly corrupt and idiot cops on the force. It's bullshit. Plain and simple. And all of Korras spiritual and personal growth was thrown out the window. They made her even angrier and impulsive than she was in book 1!
@@gamingeagle19 Lin respects action over anything - Mako had to prove himself to her. As for Korra, what about her personal growth was "thrown out the window"? She learned to be self sacrificial, which directly impacts her arc in this season. And then...why would Korra in Book 2 be less impulsive when her impulsivity is what won the day in the previous finale? The entire reason she was able to expose Amon was by literally being impulsive, ignoring General Iroh's advice to wait and meeting Tarrlok exactly because of that. So yea, she would be *more* impulsive as a result because that character trait came in clutch and got proven right in that instance lol
@@gamingeagle19 I also found it hard to believe that previously streetwise Mako would have fallen for the bumbling cops' telling him it's ok to walk unannounced into a meeting between the chief of police and the mayor - their demeanour should have alerted the suspicion of even Inspector Clouseau, but common sense should have alerted him first. Dumbing down like Lin and Mako characters so the plot can progress is just lazy writing. Bolin started off kinda dumb to begin with, so his dumbing down has made him a complete clown.

Honestly, the thing I hate the most about book 2 is the character assassination of Lin. Frankly, Korra, at least in the first half, isn't too far behind her.
I understand that book one was initially supposed to be the only one so they had to "reset" some of these characters but they did it in the worst way possible.
Nobody is "reset". Your understanding of these characters is just off.
That's not what character assassination means
@vgfunman no they are not. Her character in book 2 is completely antithetical to her character in book 1. They turned her into a bumbling idiot that couldn't see clear as day evidence right in front of her face and kept trusting the two most blatantly corrupt and idiot cops on the force. It's bullshit. Plain and simple.
And all of Korras spiritual and personal growth was thrown out the window. They made her even angrier and impulsive than she was in book 1!

Lin respects action over anything - Mako had to prove himself to her.
Spartan is so hot 😅
