mega tyranitar does pretty much the same thing as regular ttar i guess dragon dance sets are maybe better with the increase in speed

Tyranitar somehow gets faster when mega evolving while garchomp gets slow...make it make sense gamefreak
Simple, Garchomp's limbs get tougher but more stiff... so it's harder for it to move.
But T-tar's reaction time improves when it's chest burst open and it's nerves are more free...
Funny isn’t it, even if they made Mega Chomp Faster, let’s say like 120 or 130 speed from its Sp Attack it would gain from mega evolving to its speed- so 102-122 or 132 speed. It would be faster now sure but I don’t think it’ll be better than regular chomp if it used Choice scarf. But you can use SD sets with Scale shot however but you’ll lose out on loaded dice. But I do think that’s a worthy trade

@@DarkPikachuYTV I’m just saying that a 102 speed mon can’t outspeed a different Mon basically with 122/132 speed without a scarf. I’m only making an hypothetical Mega Garchomp with higher speed but with lower special attack. I even mentioned that mega garchomp can’t hold loaded dice
I mean there could be different lore or biological reasons just like how regular evolutions can make a pokemon slower or faster
Having sand stream as an ability functionally gave it 1.5x the sp.def whenever sand was up which makes it even more bulky
And you get it again for Mega just to absolutely make sure it's up and running.
Ttar surviving a focus blast from a special attacker with 194 spatk only to have 104 health remaining is big dog status.
FR and figting is its 4x time weakness

Even if it can't win, its still one of those pokemon you gotta make sure is put down.
That's why Ttar is the GOAT. One of the best mon in competitive's history despite having a bad typing.

This mega was... interesting. While it wasn't worse than base Tyranitar, it also wasn't a complete upgrade. Like it didn't feel like Tyranitar really needed it to succeed in OU, it was still good without the mega. This is one of those rare cases, where both forms are viable. But for Mega Tyranitar you will have to ask yourself if is this worth your mega slot or is there something that could benefit much more from mega evolving
Mega Tyranitar was for sure a complete upgrade, the deal was that base Tyranitar was also a pretty good Pokémon without taking the Mega slot. Whenever you used Tyranitar and your didn't have the Mega slot taken, pretty much always you would go with Mega Tyranitar
@@Ropalme1914 I have to disagree here, I really don't think it was a complete upgrade. I mean yes, Mega Ttar was able to pull off DDance Sets, which base Ttar struggled with back in Gen 7, but you can't slap an Assault Vest on Mega Ttar to turn it into a specially defensive monster to check special attackers like with normal Ttar. Thats the problem with the mega stone here in this case, you can't run another item. If you want to use Ttar as a check for special attackers you have to use the Assault Vest or maybe Leftovers and not the mega stone. So I wouldn't say you would always want to use the mega stone, because there are sets that Mega Ttar can't run, while the opposite is also true for normal Ttar
@@_cryskarIt is an upgrade , you can't smh tell me that you don't want a pokemon who can tank A Focus Blast from Mewtwo Y , it's the exact same case with scyzor , if you don't have alr a mega just throw tyrinitar in there , plus he benefits a hell more from mega evolution than any object , like any pokemon rly , +100 in base stat for him makes him have a better base stat than Arceus , Giratina , Primi Koygre/Groudon and mf MEGA RAYQUAZA , 801 base stat is just too insane to even think about complaining about that
@@shuklles7849 I'm not complaining. And I did point out Mega Ttars strengths, like the DDance or the Stealth Rock set which I didn't mention yet. All I said was Mega Ttar can't be used to repeatedly switch into strong special attacks like Assault Vest Ttar can. Theres a reason why BOTH were OU, they have different roles and different things they excel at, that the other can't do.
@@_cryskar Okay i may did misunderstand your Message, my point was that if we look at basic and simple point of view , Mega Tyranitar is a Tyranitar set like any other one , except that instead of using assault vest or anything he uses his mega stone , and imo anything Tyranitar + item can do Mega Tyranitar can do it better , except for lil few things that don't outclasses Mega Tyranitar in it's whole , plus technicly with assault vest you have ofc pros (1.5x spdef) but also cons (Only damaging moves) , while Mega Tyranitar alr benefits from a very very good spdef , if you ask me i'l go mega Tyranitar all day if i don't alr got a mega , like 20% sp def is alr enough to tank any attack, and not like meg tyranitar won't tank any special attack easily , but on top of that you get even more attack , def and speed ? Give me that , i view assault vest for him more like a nerf Mega Tyranitar, a solution to count him in your team even if you alr have a mega , and the fact he can just replace any bulky pokemon you'l only use for stealth rocks and stall is just the icing on the cake , but afterall it's just a matter of preferences and what sacrifices you can do to play him

I have a feeling like the high stats megas cause too much damage but the bulky megas took too damage too. The only bulky mega that really feels like a wall to me is Mega Venusaur.
I'm not too fan of the 600 bst mons getting a Mega but Mega Tyranitar was not even bad, the reg ttar was simply better.
How in the hell does Mega Garchomp get slower while Mega Tyranitar gets a boost to its speed despite the fact it looks a LOT bulkier than its non-Mega counterpart? Gamefreak must’ve been smoking something while throwing darts to find out which Pokémon’s Megas boost them higher, and which Megas bite them in the ass.
they have been smoking since Gen 1, by making Psychic resist Ghost and making all Dark type moves special when the moves are literally named Bite and Beat Up, how do you specially bite someone?

Mega Tyranitar... Probably the greatest mega ever conceived, to be completely unnecessary. But damn if it doesnt look the best: i think it is the best designed mega of all megas, fight me.
Anyway, Tyranitar was already a monster, so what did they do? Made it even bulkier, faster, stronger, better.
Able to cancel weather battles by simply entering thanks to Sand Stream remaining, that same sand raising its special defense, able to buff its speed and outrageous attack with Ddance, a near unkillable Stealth Rock user and Spinblock denier with Crunch or Pursuit, an impressive special attack able to catch counters off guard, and my favorite trait being it can scare away Primal Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, and Dusk Mane, and ruins Lunala and Dawn Wings.
All packed into a walking hunk of angry kaiju so in pain and close to death that only its rage is known. I would wager if it fell from the sky, it would recreate the Chixulub impact.
Wouldn’t say it’s better since it was often considered a waste of using your Mega Slot.
People oddly enough used regular T-Tar more than Mega T-Tar.
Somehow, having its back being split open made its defenses even higher? 🤷♂️

What annoyed me the most about megas is that instead of taking the oportunity the change the way you'd play a pokemon, they just powercrept them for the wow factor. Sableye for example becomes a wall when it mega evolves. Absol could finaly use it's godlike special move set.
Stuff like Mega Tyranitar, Metagross, Salamence or any mon that never needed a mega was a waste.

This is the most forced mega ever. It looks cool, but so does base ttar, and it adds very little when compared to most other megas. It is also on an already good pokemon, and frankly its sometimes worse because ttar likes items like AV, leftovers, or choice band.

I don't like the design of M-Tytar. I prefer the standard Tytar.
I think it would have been better for him to be a pure rock type, this way he would eliminate the many weaknesses he has. I think they would have put crests in a row, similar to Godzilla's. Since it represents this great monster.
