    Thanks for all your research and willingness to share knowledge. I assembled 2 AR9's with your gentle recoil buffer setup. EPC 9 lower with Glock mags.
    Running the Taccom bolt carrier and enhanced feed barrel, they work flawlessly. Both have Rugged Obsidian 9 suppressors, and the Geissele SD-E triggers.
    Most people I've let shoot them, have liked them.....4.75 inch and 5-1/2 inch barrels. My daughters really enjoy shooting them.

    Great job Doug and thank you for putting this series together.

    I really appreciate all your work, I found your channel about a month ago as I've built many guns but never an ar9. Coincidentally a coworker is having me look at his ar9 for feeding issues. Definitely had the "standard" 308 spring setup installed... Thanks for saving me a bunch of time by telling us what to look for.

    Looking forward to this series. I started out in PCC's with a DI .45acp about 8 years ago that still runs like a top. I built my 1st 9mm blowback AR after much research about 2 years ago and never had any trouble other than the recoil was more than My DI .45. After I duplicated your gentle recoil system I've been satisfied with the recoil issue. Thanks for taking this on.

    Doug, you have been my go to guy for my build. The AR9 can be a booger to get to run 100% and 1 thing you didn’t cover to be suspect is cleaning the damn thing. I shoot PCC open and PCSL 2 gun with mine and have found staying diligent on a clean system greatly decreases the questionable failure issues. I have found a 500 round count regardless of ammo type is the go zone…mileage may vary. For me mentally not to question the equipment running sound is key to success. Your gentle recoil system has been fantastic even after I short stroked the action and my bolt, spring, and buffer are 31ozs. Enhanced the feed cone with Glock mags on a Diamondback DB9 lower with a POF drop-in trigger Odin rifle length stock and she runs like a raped ape. I’m roughly 2k deep in the rig with all the other Gucci shit but the next step would be a JP which start at 3k…..winning! Now figure out how to make a GI system on a 9mmAR then your the complete man. Thanks for your hard work excited to watch your new series.

      Glad it's working so well for you! I do need to do a cleaning video - I'll try to sneak it in between the others.

    No .308 buffer spring? Please explain your opinion. FM recommends exactly that.

      They sure do. Bad idea. Here you go: blowback9.wordpress.com/2024/06/20/f-m-recommendations/ The question to ask is "what problem were they trying to solve by switching to a .308 spring?". Spring noise? A flat wire fixes that without overspringing and causing trigger reset issues.

      @@Blowback9 thamks for responding. Very interesting. I want to install a Law Tactical folding adapter and was thinking the .308 buffer spring would compensate for the additional length. I'll just keep the stansard carbine spring and see how it performs.

    • @Blowback9
      @Blowback9  3 месяца назад

      @@djphillips109 I have a Law folder. It works fine with carbine tube/carbine spring. The extra length inside the mechanism is filled by the bolt adapter plug, so the tube/buffer/spring work just like before.

      @@Blowback9 Cool. I'm going to try it out with a Tubb's flat wire carbine spring then. But my law folder (gen2?) doesn't have that plug to take up the extra space, which is why I bought the Tubb's .308 spring (I bought both). Anyway, I'll try the actual buffer spring it came with first. The setup we're discussing here is a PWS 10" AR-9 that I recently purchased.

    Looking forward to the series as well. Thank you! And again, thank you for your previous guidance on my EPC build, its coming along beautifully!
    Special request... an episode on the EPC proprietary LRBHO mechanism or LRBHO systems in general.

      I recently bought an EPC receiver set. Waiting for a few more parts (Macon mag catch, extra ejector) to put together a bunch of videos. I'll be including the LRBHO in the vids!

      @Blowback9 much appreciated! I went with Macon buffer and mag catch, b kings bolt, and Ballistic advantage epc barrel.. on a few of your recommendations. I can't wait to see how it all runs once its all together.

    My AR lower, BA-EPC barrel, KAK Yellow buffer, using Exomag runs great with ball ammo but with flat tip hp they nose up and jam at top. Do you feel a glock mag conversion would be worth trying or go to a Superfeed with upper ramp? Looking forward to the series!

    • @Blowback9
      @Blowback9  3 месяца назад

      Endomags add another layer of complication since it's like swapping adapters with every mag change. A Superfeed may work, but I'd consider a dedicated 9mm lower instead and remove the endomags from the equation.

    What brands of buffer would you recommend? Every buffer I have been able to find, of an appropriate weight for a 9mm bolt + buffer > 22oz. has been solid, not sliding weights.

    • @Blowback9
      @Blowback9  22 дня назад

      KAK Industry. 8.4oz, or 10oz.

    hi! I recently built an ar9 with gentle recoil system as outlined on your site. I fed it 115gr FMJ and it shot great (extremely soft) most of the time, with some occasional failures to eject, i took slow motion video of the ejection port, and it appears that it was short stroking on some of the lighter loaded cartridges. I have an a5 length buffer tube, h3 carbine buffer, and 2x kynshot weighted spacers. the length of the action seems perfect, and i do get last round bolt open. i put 90gr (lighter load) in and it created the malfunction every time. the slow motion video appears that it is short stroking even moreso. should i lighten the buffer a bit until it gets better reliability? I am only asking because i keep hearing that the heavier the better, but i feel like i am going TOO heavy at this point. thanks in advance!

    • @chriskuzman6819
      @chriskuzman6819 4 месяца назад

      update: i weighed my BCG and it weighs 14.5 ounces, making a total buffer mass of 24 ounces, would this explain why i am short stroking?

    • @Blowback9
      @Blowback9  4 месяца назад

      I'd try moving one of the weights behind the spring in the tube as a spacer and see if it clears up. It may be too heavy for such a light load. It should work fine with that weight, with 115 though. I'd check the ejector alignment, too. See the "4 steps" video for more info.
