I love Rebel Heart too, but they are such different bodies of work. Madame X is a stellar album. And there is a huge difference between autotune and vocoder. Use of the vocoder is a Mirwais staple and has been used by Madonna since Music in 2000. In songs like Batuka, Madonna's voice sounds robotic to create a stark contrast when compared to the earthy Batuque tribal chants she leads. If you're interested in songs without the vocoder, they make up a good chunk of the record: Killers Who Are Partying, Crazy, Come Alive, Extreme Occident, Looking For Mercy, I Rise, etc.

In 2009 her sales here on this video were at 195 million yet Warner Music released a press release that year stating "Madonna sold over 300 million records (including over 200 million albums)" - so at she was at least 5 million higher by 2009 (not sure what were the albums with missing sales on this chart). By 2020 Madonan albums sales are estimated to be over 220 million so the 203.5 million sales number stated here quite low. According to Warner Music "The Immaculate Collection" is already over 30 million untis sold (for a few years now) and Celebration sold over 5 million units. Not sure where the other millions are but Warner Music and Universal did sold them.

What an amazing career run! I see 2 official comebacks based on sales: 1998 with Ray of Light and 2005 with Confessions on a Dance Floor. Even tough Bedtime Stories sold more than Erotica, but difference is just minimal. Public were already kinda warming up to her but completely in full blown awe in 1998!
Oh, Confessions was definitely a comeback, not to mention my fav Madonna album. I remember when it came out, I was 14 and all the teens around my age got (re)introduced to Madonna, were hooked on Hung Up, and were learning the choreo. Before Confessions I'd myself only ever heard Frozen and Music, that was the extent of my Madonna knowledge at the time. Confessions is the only Madonna album I still listen to from start to finish from time to time, even now 15 years later. It's a masterpiece to be honest.

Let's not forget that downloads are just one $0.99 track while physical singles are 2 to 10 tracks each that were sold for $2.99 to $8.99 (Of course that in the case of Mariah numbers are much lower as she had several singles that got to #01 for being available for $0.99 or $0.49 on first week of release. As in UK (and most European countries) there is a price limit for singles/tracks to chart Mariah was never able to pull those kind of tricks in Europe to get better chart results. Eitherway Mariah did sold estimated 140/150 million albums wolrdwide (probably even a bit more) so that's still almost 3 times more than Rihanna on albums sales.

Those numbers you have are from Year End of those album releases (except for Madame X that sold over 516k on Year End Chart for 2019 and over 650k by March 2020 after the tour ended). MDNA (that was best selling album in Russia for 2012 - first time a foreigner artist had the best selliing artist of the year in the country) it's a good catalog seller not only in Russia but also in other countries. The album was already at 2.2 million by the end of 2013 and it's estimated to be 2.4/2.5 millions now. Reblel Heart sales when "Madame X" was released were at 1.2 million (as it keeps appearding on a lot of TOP 100 countries on iTunes it's possible it moved another 75k-100k on the past year helped by a new Madonna relsease and her tour).

No it's not because Madonna sold over 80 million in Europe. You can't prove worldwide sales based off of US sales. Madonna's album sales add up to 200 million and her singles add up to 125 million. Me too but albums aren't selling much lately and most album "sales points" are from streaming. "Madame X" was still a TOP 40 best selling albums of the year 2019 worldwide when we take just Pure Sales are taking into account (and yes Bruce Springsteen 2019 album sold more but he also did a big tour supporting it - not just a Theather Tour for hardcore fans).

In 2009 her sales here on this video were at 195 million yet Warner Music released a press release that year stating "Madonna sold over 300 million records (including over 200 million albums)" - so at she was at least 5 million higher by 2009 (not sure what were the albums with missing sales on this chart). By 2020 Madonan albums sales are estimated to be over 220 million so the 203.5 million sales number stated here quite low. According to Warner Music "The Immaculate Collection" is already over 30 million untis sold (for a few years now) and Celebration sold over 5 million units. Not sure where the other millions are but Warner Music and Universal did sold them.

What an amazing career run! I see 2 official comebacks based on sales: 1998 with Ray of Light and 2005 with Confessions on a Dance Floor. Even tough Bedtime Stories sold more than Erotica, but difference is just minimal. Public were already kinda warming up to her but completely in full blown awe in 1998!
Oh, Confessions was definitely a comeback, not to mention my fav Madonna album. I remember when it came out, I was 14 and all the teens around my age got (re)introduced to Madonna, were hooked on Hung Up, and were learning the choreo. Before Confessions I'd myself only ever heard Frozen and Music, that was the extent of my Madonna knowledge at the time. Confessions is the only Madonna album I still listen to from start to finish from time to time, even now 15 years later. It's a masterpiece to be honest.

Let's not forget that downloads are just one $0.99 track while physical singles are 2 to 10 tracks each that were sold for $2.99 to $8.99 (Of course that in the case of Mariah numbers are much lower as she had several singles that got to #01 for being available for $0.99 or $0.49 on first week of release. As in UK (and most European countries) there is a price limit for singles/tracks to chart Mariah was never able to pull those kind of tricks in Europe to get better chart results. Eitherway Mariah did sold estimated 140/150 million albums wolrdwide (probably even a bit more) so that's still almost 3 times more than Rihanna on albums sales.

Those numbers you have are from Year End of those album releases (except for Madame X that sold over 516k on Year End Chart for 2019 and over 650k by March 2020 after the tour ended). MDNA (that was best selling album in Russia for 2012 - first time a foreigner artist had the best selliing artist of the year in the country) it's a good catalog seller not only in Russia but also in other countries. The album was already at 2.2 million by the end of 2013 and it's estimated to be 2.4/2.5 millions now. Reblel Heart sales when "Madame X" was released were at 1.2 million (as it keeps appearding on a lot of TOP 100 countries on iTunes it's possible it moved another 75k-100k on the past year helped by a new Madonna relsease and her tour).

For example, Madonna's total of singles was claimed at 100 million by 2015 ( it was already inflated ) , for a total of 300 million records sold ( 188 million albums, 100 million singles, 12 million DVD and VHS ) . .Nowadays,they claim 150 million singles sold for her and 203 million albums sold globally.Where did those 50 million additional singles + 12 million albums come from in the 2010's, knowing that she had no new certified single nor album , and small streams compared to Mariah.Mariah earned way more new certified singles and much more streams than Madonna, from 2010 to 2020.How come Madonna's catalog grows faster ( according to you Madonna's fans on internet and the pages you administrate/ edit ) without any sign on chart, on certifications nor streams numbers ? BIAS !
and that's why even she's not that popular nowadays, Madonna doesn't need to prove anything to everyone. She ruled the 80's, 90's and 00's. She's been through a lot that all of these current singer's combined.
