Hey! Good to know that you like it! Have a great day! Peace ✌🏻
thanks for the video! my ML sub still works but make a rattling sound, do you think I can repair it with glue? and for the time being I want to disconnect it from the amp, by unpluggin via the amp. Do you know which wires (colors) are for the sub?
Hi buddy! Thanks for watching the video. I was checking on my old photos and I can see it clearly. Sorry for that buddy.
What is the black wire called you used to jump it from the end to the middle? And what did you use to make the wire stay in place?
Hi lexus7627! I used a 16awg stranded wire. I solder it with 40/60 tin lead solder. Hope this helps!
Is this the same method for a 2016 Lexus IS????
Hi! I haven’t try it on the new models. But it has to be mostly the same. Thanks for watching!
I have a 2013 gs450H, what can I replace my sub with? It’s not blown or anything but when I have it turned up to 58 it sounds floppy when deep bass hits.
Question u have a 2008 isf ? I noticed you have the 2011 steering wheel controls with the sport button did u get the sport button working?
Stay Humble I haven’t done it yet! As soon I do it I will upload a video for that.
Hey man it’s hard to get to the third brake light to get it unplugged I did every step but I can’t reach to the third brake light and I can’t unplug it how you showed me any other way I can do it?
Hey I saw where u said ur friend put a upgrade subwoofer in did he put it on a aftermarket amplifier
Hi Erick! He kept the oem amplifier.
Thanks for the great video! What is the height of the factory subwoofer? Wondering if I can fit an aftermarket sub in the factory location.
Hi thanks buddy! Its less thank 3in. Yes, theres a 8in subwoofer that people that have this car used. Mb Quart DS1-204 400 watts shallow slim sub 4ohm.
@@prestigeautogang291 hey I was looking into doing this mod with the same subwoofer. Do you know if it’s a direct swap or would I have to do any mods to sheet metal ?
Hey @@Loudbasshead_ ! I did it to my friend Isf. Its not and exact fit. You will need to bend the sheet metal for a perfect fit. I saw another in Lexus ISF owners in facebook that cut the sheet metal.
Thanks for watching!
Great video!
Thank you so much Francisco! Hope it help you too.
So I just bought a 2006 is250, when I turn on the radio, I have sound but no bass at all. How do I figure out if the Amp is bad or if it's the subwoofer? Would I not have sound at all if the Amp is bad?
Hi Matt! If the amp its damage it will not received any sound at all. But I will firsts check the subwoofer that its the easy way. Take it out and try to solder 2 cables to each end. Put ir back and see if it works. The other way its if you have any speaker in your house try it and if works it the subwoofer that the coil may be burned.
If it doesn’t work at all the amp 2.5ohms channel for the subwoofer may be crossed. For the subwoofer to work the amp channel needs to be fix or replaced.
Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
Thank you !
Part number for the subwoofer?
Hi @carlosalfaro6618! Lexus p/n:8616053300. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
sorry to ask but what wheels are you running?
Hi! Vossen Wheels CV3R Graphite.
All I want to do is unplug the factory subwoofer. I won't have any issues right, by unplugging the connector?
1JZGaming hi buddy! No nothing will happen!
Can i replace those 2 small speakers with something a little bigger. Will it fit and how is the wiring. My left one is rattling
Hi Eemil K! Sure you can. But you will need to make a hole in the body to make it fit. What do you mean how its the wiring?
@@prestigeautogang291 is the wiring just two wires. Plus and minus?
Eemil K yes!
Great video! 🤙🏻
Frank Diaz thanks ✌🏻
why was this repair completed was there an issue with the sound not playing?
Hi! The issue was the subwoofer didn’t work at all. The problem was that the connection ground was broken.
@@prestigeautogang291 nice do you guys have a diagram of where that ground runs to? also why would that be the problem did lexus not tighten properly
@@polakowm905 no we don’t have one.
best men
Thanks buddy! Hope it helps you too! Thanks for watching.
What size of speaker is that ?
Its a 8in. Thanks for watching!
What color are the sub wires?
Somphoth Siratsamy they are copper with no sleeving.
What are those two speakers in the back called? i cant find them at all
You mean Part number or brand?
What size is the subwoofer
Hi! Size 8
What size speaker would I be able to fit as a replacement?
Hi Jose! To use the factory space needs to be 8in. I have a friend that I installed the Mb Quart DS1-204 400 watts shallow slim sub 4ohm from ebay. And used the factory space with longer bolts without modifications to the body. The only difference will be the top black cover will 1/2in higher. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching.
No way I'm 😳 not taken out the seats I'm going to try just lifting the the back panel and the 2 sides what a Hot mess 😂
My subwoofers make static. Don't know why
Hi The2Coolest2. Check all your wires, they may be touching the metal.
@@prestigeautogang291 Found out its not the subwoofer but a small accompanying speaker next to it. Gonna investigate soon
I can't be the only one who cringed everytime he tossed a piece of the trim on the floor. If you know how expensive those parts are lol. On another note, my Lexus is at 196k and the sound system still sounds amazing. Toyota really does know how to make quality cars.
Hi Jedi! Thats true LOL! Thats good to heard that yours still good! Mine start making that sound at 80-82k and was really annoying. But it was a really simple fixed. Now I sold it to my friend and still at 89k and still sounds good. They really do how to make quality cars.
Thanks for watching my friend!
Mine is on 176k and it's blown. My audi had 384k when I replaced it with this shit box I have now and the subwoofer never stopped working.
@@covisko These definitely aren't shit boxes. If anything Audi are money pits. I wouldn't give my enemy one of those 🤣
@@Jedi_Luke haha Yea I know everyone says Toyota are great but my 2004 Audi A4 was much better than this 2012 IS 250 that I bought a while back. All around better. It's an embarrassement for this lexus. I know it's hard to believe but I'm serious. Audi are much better even the older one shockingly. Now, for the reliability, well that's a whole different story, but overalI, I was quite pleased with audi. It did requiere regular maintenance but it was worth it in my opinion for how well it drove and how well engineered everything around the car was. When I drive my lexus I feel like it's an older car than my older audi. And that's how crazy this sounds but it's true. My gf feels the same way too! So I don't know what to tell you man. I wanted to believe Toyota were the best thing out there but in opinion this models sucks hardcore compare to a similar compact luxury car like audi.
@@covisko Yeah I definitely don't know what to tell you. Lexus is basically a luxury Toyota and parts are pretty easy to find. Audi on the other hand most parts need to be ordered or are only at the expensive dealership. I don't know if you bought a dud or what but my 2006 IS350 rides perfect. The 250 you has direct injection which causes carbon buildup on the valves and makes them run like crap. My 350 doesn't have that so it's a pretty reliable low maintenance engine. Change the oil on time and it's pretty much a tank. Granted I'm not still riding around on old high mileage parts, nor did I buy it from some young kid who dogged it out either. Audi probably rides better or whatever, but Lexus is definitely less maintenance and easier to work on with cheaper parts. I work on both and I had way more Audi come in for repairs. Any car brand is gonna have issues. Like Dodge is probably the worst brand, but some people have had good luck out of a few of them. Toyota on the other hand the majority are good, but there's a few people that have had bad luck with them. Some people put ride quality first, but I put reliability and ease of access to engine repairs first.
The subwoofer seems to be still rattling ... Shouldn't be doing that
Hi! Thats true. On the video show the rattling. Thats why I said almost at the end that now I need to proceed to install the screws so it stop rattling. Its not shown in the video. But it works fine. Thanks for watching.
