There are people sat on their arse's who do nothing who complain they work too hard. Then there are people like Dave. Be like Dave.
"...are you cut out for this?" No, but I know a man who is and he's doing a cracking job. 👍
Thank you 😀
Digging holes by hand is hard enough without laying on your side in a confined space underground, haha. Dave is a next level hard worker.
You are incredibly resilient.
And so many different capabilities and then sheer…gut?
Loving watching this.
No matter how hard the job I never give up, done plenty worse jobs in my time 😂
After a crap week myself, it's great to see someone else struggling, it put a smile on my face, cheers mate.
I aim to please 😂 in between doing all this I have been chipping cement off bricks 😂
Thanks for the update Dave, great video and ur an inspiration of what can be done practically and realistically for many of us with a handful of skills and possibly an ambition above the norm. Love it!!
I was questioning my own sanity while trying to sort this tunnel out 😂
You're a true eccentric genius in the very best British tradition. Crazy but we're all glad its you not us. Thanks for persevering!
Thanks 😂
well done Dave 👍👍👍👍👍💪💪💪💪💪
Epic realignment and very entertaining - thank-you.
Glad you liked it
Another great video Dave! Thanks for showing the SolidWorks, cutting and bending processes. The speed at which you can produce parts is great!
Looking forward to how you mechanize the log burner, ladder and hatch.
@@keithviolette5870 I wasn’t sure if people would get bored but I found it interesting 😀
@@Tornado_DaveWe don’t find it boring at all everything you do is great and funny as well
Some serious hard work there ... well done super Dave 👍 👌
I can see that winter has finally arrived for you also good job on fixing the tunnel much better now.
@@TheTowerBuilders yes it’s winter now, dark at 4pm and cold 😂
It think that showing things really go wrong and the true strugle to fix it, is brilliant. 100% real
It was a struggle that’s for sure 😂
Thanks Dave, really appreciate the effort you go to make a video. Cheers
Took hours to edit this one but I think it was worth it 😀
Bloody brilliant Dave,,,,,,,just watched you racing a landie with guy Martin that was bloody brilliant too 👍
@@daveminshull8448 that was a while ago, was it back on tv? I still have the Landrover 😀
@Tornado_Dave I watched it on catch-up all of guys programs are on more 4 I think it was , I loved that defender it was awesome glad it's still around 👍
Man that is tough work, great job keeping yourself shored up while modifying the tunnel!
Yes it was! I can move forward a bit faster again now 😀
Well done Dave, that was a difficult task that will make a huge difference when it's all done. Keep up the good work 🎉
Thanks, will do! 😀
Bloody excellent, top job as ever!
Good to see someone relising the struggle and grinding through a job to inevitable completion.
The 1 in 3 process seems safe. Thumbs up!
Yes, Dave another video next week please. The more videos the better.
Fair play Dave, that looked like proper graft 👏🏼
Yes it was a tough one
Both you and Colin dropped a new video on the same day 😲. Such great viewing as always
I probably should of send colin a text first as I would of delayed my video 30 minutes if I had known 😂
awesome update & content as always👍 15:06 safety squints engaged 🤣🤣
Thanks! 👍 yes I was considering getting the proper safety glasses out for a minute 😂
@Tornado_Dave went nicely with helmet.....full of screws 🤣🤣
@@GavMoFo I knew someone would appreciate that as well 😂
@@Tornado_Dave 💯 🤣🤣🤣
Great video two part epoxy resin with grit mixed in, it almost self levels need a bit of troweling (be prepared to throw away any tools you use after) makes a really good floor tough waterproof easy clean and slip resistant
Brilliant video Dave! You are so clever.
Glad you liked it!
20:11 already like and subscribed when this channel only had 1 short video out! Well done always improving!
Glad you are liking the content 😀
After a long grueling day at work and being stressed out, it was a nice surprise to come home to a video from you, Dave. I think it would be pretty cool to put some RGB lighting in the tunnel.
I think you should do the cart tracks as tram tracks are so you basically make an inverted version of the rail and then out that in your tiles or resin, it will leave a far nicer finish than using the rail your currently using
Great video as always Dave.
Glad you enjoyed it
You r doing a grand job, dig it as you want and if people don't like it they can do one.
A few people have done one in this video, must of upset them 😂
Great job on the new rise in the tunnel but what a bloody nightmare well done Dave keep on tunnelling mr mole 👏🏻👏🏻
It was a tough 3 weeks down there, I feel I’m on the home stretch now 😀
Great update, definitely wouldn't get me down in the dirt doing that hard graft. 😅
My god that was a hard dig. Great stuff mate. Nice video.
Thanks 👍 it was a tough time 😂
Awesome footage, you have alot of skills and acess to great materials...do you own a metal shop, pretty cool either way! thumbs up mate!
Yes it is my workshop I do all the metal work in 😀
I always look forward to new footage that you put out! You certainly have a fantastic shop to work out of.I used to watch an old tv comedy called Hogans heroes when I was a kid, they tunneled everywhere!!
To be honest I don't think I'd be cut out for it Dave, however I'm glad you are as its making fantastic content
It tested me in those conditions 😂
Go with the tiles Dave. It’ll look better!
And yep- if you can chuck another video up in a week you know we’ll all watch it!
I will try my best to get it done 😀
@ I took my hat off to you mate digging in the cold and wet tunnel and still worrying about video quality!! Top shelf!
Stick to you guns! You are Tunnel Dave! No deeper no higher!
Brilliant work another great video
Thank you! Cheers!
You're amazing mate, a true warrior 💪
Jesus Dave,
What an absolute graft to sort a pigs ear of a problem.
BUT, you’ve stuck at it and cracked it! 👌
Great job 👏👏👏👏
Thanks 👍 yes I have been putting it off but I’m glad it’s ok now, can finally finish the tunnel now 😀
Yeah good luck,
Ps - regarding the floor resin would be easier to maintain and manage, but tiles would look a lot more authentic. Though if you did have an accidents I guess they’d crack easier - but they would be easier to replace too.
I’d say tiles 👍
Or what about tiles with a clear resin coating! 😂
You sir deserve a medal!! Very clever bloke, awsome content 👌 merry christmas dave
Glad you like the content, it’s been hard work this one has 😂
Flippin’ awesome 🫡
My vote is resent. It has been used for years in silos with bottom unloader wheels running on it with little to no wear. A.O.Smith Harvestores in the US. Good luck!
Great update, pal 👍 loving the content 👌
Glad you enjoy it!
Love your videos Dave, thanks.
Glad you like them!
Nice work Dave , keep it going 🏆
great update! Yes more videos the better!
Phenomenal how much you achieve between videos, and a day job too.
I like to keep pushing forward with the progress if I can 😀
It's a dirty job but somebody's gotta do it. Liked and subscribed!
Seriously hard work Dave, definitley earned the like/subs this week! Thanks for the channel shout out :)
No problem 👍 now I’ve done all this I will message you back about the desk 😂
@@Tornado_Dave appreciated!
Mate my backs hurting watching you
Respect mate
I’m still recovering 😂
Great. I like it Dave
Lol you mad man, looks great though Dave!
19hrs on and your at 70k 🎉🎉 well done lad
Thank you 🙌 video had a rough start, I lost more subscribers than I gained for the first 2 hours 😂
love these videos keep it up Dave
Glad you like them!
This was painful to watch Dave !!!! But it came out Great !!
I'd do the digging but can't do the sheetmetal work. It's all awesome.
In about 1990, I used to operate a laser cuter with a bosh micro8 CNC controller.
Your camera work previously did leave me disorientated sometimes, I appreciate the new style.
It’s still got some parts that need improving but I think the next video I might be about right 😀
@@Tornado_Dave lol yeah going down the well still makes me a little dizzy but I'd say you've got it down now mate great job all around on the channel and tunnel congratulations on your success
All of your hair is going to fall out when you get this finished. I wish you the best of luck and a hat.
Yes it’s all the stress of making RUclips videos 😂
Awesome job
Glad you're doing this so I don't have to lol. Up the Rams!
I’m tired after watching this one, what a graft! Could’ve done a video on the conduit install that looks nice 👌
I was down the tunnel while Heath was doing all that sadly, hopefully just over a week till the next video if I can do it in time 😀
Watching this is making me feel so claustrophobic 🙈
It’s not bad once you get used to it 😀
I always hated JDO's and that was one of the narliest I've ever seen. Your attention to detail is verging on OCD but is a super power (I"m more of a 'near enough, good enough' type of person LOL). It all looks amazing.
Cheers mate
Had to throw you a like Dave just for sloggin in the muck mate..
@@aaronale5 thanks for that, I think I earnt it 😂
If you ever turn your bunker into an air bnb, i think you would be booked out all year 😂. People would pay good money to kip in that man cave! 🥳⛺️
mad getting that 4m box down there so smooth
4m is the limit, it’s hard to do these things 1 handed 😂
Rock On Dave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like it.. A child playing... But when the threat comes, you face it instead of hiding... It's called being an adult..
The way you can address people crashing into the end of the tunnel on the cart is by setting up a camera at the end. That way you'll end up with hours of hilarious footage of people crashing the cart
I like your plan, last time it happened I didn’t have a camera there 😂
Brilliant!
I would love to see a more in depth look at the CNC bender!
Yes I will show a bit more next time I think 😀
i love the tunnelling videos! thought i would give you a comment to help you too!
Thanks for the comment, glad you like the videos 😀
Would I do it? Not in a million years! Do I really enjoy watching you do it? Hell yes! In short, you are mucking fental, but don't stop.
Cheers
Crying laughing at the acrobatics @19:50.
One of a kind.
You and Colin should each do a section of tunnel on your builds in the style of each other
I don't know anything at all about building (and I'm in Alberta, Canada, if climate is part of it), but why all the stone and brick building materials? Why not do wood framing for it all? The brick in the lower level looks cool, but I guess I mean more for the floor and what looks to be the walls of the second floor. Sweet video as always Dave!
Maybe in the next video, you could have the camera move a little more. It was too steady in this one. 😉😂 Nice work, Dave. Looks like A LOT of work, but nicely done.
😂
Subscribed after finding this video.
Thanks for the channel. 🙂👍
You could do with some proper eye protection!
Thanks for the sub! Yes I think I should of had some in the tunnel 😀
Dave, how will you protect your water supply in your well / staircase, if that becomes necessary, say something bad?
I like it!!!
5:53 you need an industrial vacuum to suck up that soil instead of shovelling it .
This one must have been so fun…
It’s was a tough few weeks 😂
Have you ever considered using some kind of vacuum to remove the rock and dirt ?
Dave that was a painful episode 😫 to watch. Feel your pain 😢 Once it's realigned you'll be cooking 🍳 on gas ⛽️. C.
I think this is fantastic mate!!! I think resin for the floor . Or reclaimed timber and track in side if that makes sense ?
That’s another option, I think that could look good as well
@ reclaimed scaffolding planks the track would sit like you see at a railway crossing that would look so cool and rustic
Hi Dave. Great video. I doubt you still do all this by hand. I'd love to see what goes on when the camera isn't rolling. Also, won't the ground above the tunnel drop now with the gap above the tunnel sections.
I’ve got rid of the gap above because I have lifted the sections 😀glad you like the content 😀
Please consider taking into account the thickness of any slabs if you intend on extending this tunnel elsewhere, it would have saved you an entire video. I understand you have a high water table but you should have been able to just skirt it with an extra step down in front of that staircase of yours, the area behind the door would have simply been a small square landing instead of the end of the stair case. Also you wouldn't be bumping your head on those light fixtures.
Yes I did consider that option, but it would ruin my lift design that I am making soon, the ceiling height is high enough down here as well. I did consider all options before having to adjust the tunnel 😂
love it
I mean…..I genuinely don’t understand why it took so long to dig the Channel Tunnel
They were just playing at it 😂
I’d go with resin. I know it’s “newer” so it’s not from personal knowledge…just think it could look really good.
8:42 potato farmer? 🧑🌾 lol
Is it worth it to get a vactor and hoses and vacuum out the dirt to the surface
Make the rails come all the way into the room. Or at least most of the way. Especially if they're eventually going to be flush.
Bet colin furze wishes his tunnel was easy to dig as this 😂
You could do with a bigger shovel chief😂😂
if you were to pump the well dry would it depress the water table in the tunnel enough ?
cool video. Could you use a ram pump in there at all? I've just watched Farmcraft101's video about them and they are amazing (possibly running on witchcraft). Maybe you could use it along with the battery pump so that it could boost the potential of it.
I need to have a look at those
Nice. Why couldn't you have dug the new bunker further down to meet the tunnel?
@@benmillington6270 I wanted to but couldn’t fit the stairs in the gap and keep it to the regs so decided to change the tunnel instead
the view to like ratio is crap, sort it out people, hit the bloody button
It’s actually higher than normal for my videos as well 😂, I think it’s the claustrophobic unsubscribers that are hurting the video more 😂
@@Tornado_Dave cowards, the lot of 'em
