It would help if the person doing the demo was using proper micropipette technique (aspirating at a vertical angle and then dispensing at an angle with the tip touching the receiving vessel).

1ml is not equal to 1gm

For water, 1 mL equals 1 gram. That is how pipettes are calibrated.
