a long time ago, when the middle east and areas near it had the most advanced civilizations, nearly all maps had isreal as the center, and fun fact, you can go to a place in isreal which shows the point of "the middle of world". This just shows how advanced the middle east and nearby countries such as greece egypt and india were.
@@sidneymaster5 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Israel_(united_monarchy) Before you say something, it can't be propaganda if wikipedia also believes Israel did like 50x more war crimes than Hamas.
Because if you take a fucking globe and lay it flat that's the picture that's how we did it they put a flattened picture of a globe then drew a line down the middle
I mean almost all of scientific and important historical events had as the center Europe. Of course important events and discoveries happened in other countries as well but nowhere even close, ancient Greece countless scientific advancements foundation to even today's sciences, spread of culture and knowledge through the great Alexander's empire and then the Roman Byzantine empire. And then there is the explosion of trade which spread England spain an other Europeans countries across the world and also more or less created America. Then the industrial age also took place in the heart of Europe. Then for better or worse 2 world wars both at the center of Europe. Like no matter what point you see if from it would be weird to choose any other places as the central point other than some other existing advantage factor
Also because at the time Britain was the moat powerful nation an Europe was the most powerful continent. It makes sense to stick them in the middle because it’s where most people using maps are either going to or coming from.
New zealand: yay, im in the center :)
West africa and europe:

Well it wasn’t israel unless you go 3000+ years back in history
@idocantasci That's what I'm saying, a long time ago not like 1500s I mean like 1000bc, but that just shows how advance that part of the world was
Israel was never a country

Greece is european
Just use a globe, it's also more accurate
Sure bro just lemme bring my fucking globe everywhere with me 😂😂😂
@Handletoncity well think about it, people don't bring maps everywhere to lol
But at least in your phone it's visible as s flat map@@Iorekzickefoose
Poor new Zealand
Maldives not even noticed. Wow.
Poor New Zealand
New Zealand was populated and modernized by the British anyway. It's not like the Maori were ever going to develop the place.
Prime Meridian no way seekers of the storm reference
You just put the US in the center again (Hawaii)
Or just move the centre of the map to Germany
I mean New Zealand is surrounded by Pacific Ocean so making it the center of any map would not be very practical.
Should we forget Britain and remember such a small country like new Zealand?
Meanwhile ujjain in india is the centre of the world!
Kiwi🎉
Algeria is the center of the current map
Why they say prime meridian, it's Greenwich mean time
All the maps at my school have America at the center.

Bs. It's bc of the pacific ocean
