For those whose donor area isn't enough, I believe the way is combining SMP + hair transplant + fibers. By the way, I believe 70 / cm² is possible with multiple hair transplants. Don't need to rush, just be patient and do multiple procedures within few years. The problem is the limitation of donor area.
The problem is not just the quantity of the grafts that can be harvested from your donor area, but much rather the bioviability of the transplanted hair on your scalp. It's a consensus that 40 per cm2 is the maximum amount of hair which can be transplanted before the risk of necrosis due to insufficient blood circulation becomes too risky. Also fucking lol if you still have to use fibers after combining a ht with smp. At that point wouldn't it be MUCH more sufficient to just wear a hair system?
My father and grandfather have/had great coverage despite the age. My grandfather died with a bit of thinning but great coverage and no receding hairlines. He was 85. My father, 70 yo still with great coverage , no hairline recession, just a bit of lower density overall. So there's men out there that have good hair throughout their life. As for me, I had a bit of thinning and recession, but it is suspected that that happened due mostly or in part, to medication (radical treatment to H. pilory). Nonetheless, at 43 i started using the big 3 (Finasteride, minoxidil, ketoconazole).
First, is your hair loss really noticeable, as in a bald spot and thin, wispy colorless hair from the forehead to bald spot? Or are you just having some receding on the sides of the forehead? On my 19th birthday I noticed that some receding started and by 21 my hairline sides angled back looking like Brad's angled sides. I had great hair, but that little bit of receding made me so self-conscious and I thought I would be bald by 30. At 30 I thought I would be bald by 40. I had slow receding and some thinning overall, but at 50 I have A Lincoln's hairline and Brad's hairstyle with longer hair parted on the side and tucked behind the ears. All of that worrying during my 20s and 30s was a waste of my time and my self esteem would have been much higher and accomplished.
@@riproar11 I started noticing my receding at around 20. First, I though nothing really of it, it was more a "well, i'm getting a somewhat more mature hairline" but suddenly, I noticed my hair stylists stopped asking me if I would like to thin my hair out as I've always had thick and dense hair. That was my seconds warning sign. At around 23 or 24 (don't quite remember) I started using Minoxidil. My hair is still falling out, but not at the rate it used too, thankfully. But it is only a matter of time until I lose more/all of it. I'm still trying to accept it. Genetics are a bitch.
@@reddo6092 Everyone's case is different. Receding and thinness seemed to slow down after my late 20s. I started using Minoxidil foam since 2007 as it gives hair hold and body and no oiliness like the liquid minox. Cheap hair insurance. With minox you're buying time if you're hoping for better hair restoration remedies, transplants over the next decade or two like follicle cloning or stem cells. I have seen so many men who look better and badass with their head shaved really short. They looked goofy with hair on top in their younger photos.
have you tried applying the liquid minoxidil with a qtip directly on your scalp? I would be curious if it would be more effective and less oil inducing that way.@@riproar11
Can you go beyond the 50 grafts per sq cm if the hair is finer? Presumably you can pack more in the same space than 50 courser(wider diameter) graft safe limit.
One of my best friend is a Vietnamese and we always talk about my problems with hairloss as his hair is perfect. I onced asked him if I could creepily spectate is scalp from up close and man....his hairs are so fucking thick. I mean, so thick that he probably has like 35 hairs on 1 square cm and it's still packed as hell. He could easily get like 25 hair per square cm and have an average density :D I couldnt believe it at first.
Do your calculations include fut and wouldn't that allow for more graphs total and what do you think is the highest density with medium hair thickness a person could get with a second transplant thank you for the information
If you have a density of about 40-50 graft/cm2 implanted in the 1st session, can you increase to 70grafts per cm2 in the 2nd session ? So in the 2nd session increase +30grafts/cm2 ?
Great well researched video. This is one I wish I watched 20 years ago. Scalp necrosis is certainly real. I have experienced it myself. Hair transplantation is a long game for guys with more severe baldness. You are better off doing it over multiple surgeries and years. One thing I'd add is if you have exceptional body hair that can help get to the Brad Pitt level of density if your head donor hair comes up short. But after having personally tried a variety of body hair types for transplantation as a Caucasian male I think only chest hair truly matches head donor hair. The other types of BHT can be used for filler but it is not going to be a perfect natural result like Brad.
@@christopherdonovan6475 I have had chest hair transplanted to the scalp and the appearance is the same as head hair for me. Yes it does not appear to grow as long as the other hair but does grow a bit longer than it did on my chest.

Awesome content. Again, your hairline is much better than before. Congrats. Interesting question: Are grizly hair thicker than original ones? Or is that only illusion? If so at least getting older will have an advantage (less grafts required to fill the bald areas).
Love your channel but I'd have to disagree here, 80cm is starting to become common practice in a lot clinics in which the patient can support it with their donor and with the current verteporfin trials showing success with regenerating hair follicles, this should be a done deal to a nearly perfect cure for hair loss. Assuming the doctor can master placement to ensure proper direction of growth.
hi. Disagree based on the sayings from clinics who told you they do 80 per cm2? 80 cm2 is extremely inefficient and time consuming. Thats why none of the TOP clinics would actually recommend it. In fact, no clinic can actually do 80 grafts all over. Most professional clinics actually prefer 40-50cm and then touch it up with extra 10+ grafts during the 2nd session in order to maximize the survival rate of such densely packed follicles. I know the 70-80 grafts cm2 is common to find on the internet but these are just baseless promises that are hard to deliver upon in reality. Too many complications that accompany this high packing in real conditions.
