Song's name is "Metali" (metari) which is the combination of "metaru" (metal) and "matsuri" (traditional Japanese summer festival). So it's a "matsuri" influenced song and yes, it's all about hyping the crowd and inviting them to dance and sing along.
Musically, it's very groovy and funky. I love Su's clean yet aggressive vocals here. Really cool collaboration with Tom Morello who commented this: "I am a big fan of BABYMETAL, a band that is both power rocking and constantly surprising with dizzying musical twists and turns. I've been trying to work with them for some time and when they sent me the demo of 'Metali!!' I knew I could rock that shit like crazy!".
I'm very happy for Momoko on her first song as an official member (this is from 2023 H2) and also for her feature on that kabuki (traditional Japanese theater) style interlude.
And, by the way, this is crazy live, specially that comeback after the kabuki interlude... not going to spoil what Momometal delivers in live performances right there... 😁

"Wasshoi Wasshoi Wasshoi Wasshoi!" Great reaction.🦊No, this was all BABYMETAL, they sent the demo to Tom Morello (he said he had been wanting to do something with them for a long time but it hadn't worked out before) and he added his guitar solos, but the song is them.
The song title is 'Metali' or 'Metari' - its a made up word fusing Metal and Matsuri (Festival) together.
Its a metal village holding a metal festival, so we get all the encouraging shouts to people carrying heavy floats and shrines or whatever like wasshoi, dokoisho, sore sore etc.
They are inviting us all to dance - there is something in the lyrics (and in Momometal's kabuki section) about we are all fools - the fools who watch and the fools who dance ... so as we're all here and we're all fools why just watch, we may as well all dance.
You really need to see the live version ... any live version (but the official live from NEX_FEST would be a good one ... oh, just saw the recommendation for Legend MM - great suggestion), they have been sending the crowds wild with this song every time.

Literally the first song I have heard of BM back was "Gimme Chocolate" back in 2014 but I wasn't paying so much attention. Almost a year ago, I listened this song on my cousing playlist and I was ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE with this song. Now BM is BY FAR my favorite band ever. So... for me this is the right song to show to someone who never heard BABYMETAL before.

Good version is from Legend MM concert in Mar 2024. You’ll find it on “For the Fox God” channel. It has Kami band solo intros and Momometal does a growl.

Metali is a staple part of Babymetal's current live set and it always goes extremely hard when they play it live. The live music video is worth a watch because it is a little bit different to the music video and you get to see the crowd go off.

It contains an extra line from Momometal. : )
The masks that appear in the video are Hyottoko masks.
They are used in traditional Japanese dances during festivals.
It's a foolish comic character, which makes it perfect for the "fools dance" in this song.
