Awesome! Being born and raised in Idaho, all the bush strips on console are fantastic so far. I had a problem with 85U and Bijan trees packs over loading with trees in the sim on Soldier Bar making unusable so had to uninstall them. I use the McCall airport as my base of ops and fly the mail and milk runs to all the various strips in the area. I think you’d really enjoy the Yellowstone National Park and Yellowstone airport scenery if you haven’t got it or flown it. I was up there on way to. Shinedown concert in Bozeman and we took a detour so I could see the actual airport. 👍👍🫡 Thanks for another awesome video and making today a “Wilga” day. Now I need to finish my coffee, fill the air tank and grab my go bag and GO. Bush camping with //42 camp out and Wilga. I also have found that on console to eliminate the annoying ramp rabbits showing on my bush trip strips, I turn airport personnel down to zero. Keeps there from being the giant pushbacks on top of a mountain or valley from showing up where they don’t belong.
I started my powered licence in a Wilga. You had the Fuel selector set to close near the Left tank selector. You can see it has a closed selection near the right selector as well. After take off you should pull the prop back to the correct rpm and then pull the power back to the correct setting. Just FYI. Love your videos.
Yeah it's one of my favourite areas to fly in. Just one small pilot note.. in those tight canyons you can decrease the radius of your turn by using flaps into the turn. It won't upset the aircraft.. what it will do is lower your stall speed during the turn making it even safer.
I simply love the Idaho back country strips! Ever since I discovered Lower Loon, I purchased a VFR map and constantly fly these strips for challenge and practice. So much fun! Im currently 11 hours logged towards my private pilot. Hopefully I can one day visit these true locations. Thank you for sharing this video.
Someone will have said this already, but i must get it out: You couldn't prime her because the fuel selector was, in fact, closed. Seems there was a bug with the tooltips. I'm guessing you went by the checklist this time to avoid another CTRL-E start, so that's just the worst luck. :p Don't feel bad though. While you can't start her, i still can't seem to land the Wilga without bouncing. I don't usually have any issues with taildraggers, but the Wilga is stubbornly refusing to let me land softly.^^
Gorgeous airports and a great video AV. I think your starting problem was caused by having the mixture restricted, if you think about this the primer is trying to pump fuel through a restriction which makes it a lot harder. So I prime on fully rich mixture then set the mixture for start. I have found this to work the same on the FI Mk9 Spitfire as well. Not being a irl pilot I am unsure if this is normal or a quirk of Msfs 2020. p.s. I love the Wilga and fly it a lot Thanks again.
@@AvAngel Ah. Maybe I should have watched the whole thing before commenting. The same reason I usually check your page when I'm looking for pointers. Thanks.
@@AvAngel It looked to me like you never touched the mixture and skipped it in the checklist and when you did auto-start the mixture went in slightly :)
Everything about flying involves problem-solving. I think what impresses me so much about the community is that there are so many good people in the metaskies.
Great area to fly - you're right, that ORBX airfield isn't overly expensive... I think you've landed at the last airport in previous vids, when you were doing STOL distance measurements/approximations. Flying down the valley I started getting the whole dejavu sense about the airfields. Stunning place to fly (again)
Ohh Lower Loon, not pulled in there since FSX, what a difference in the new sim! I was quite young, only had keyboard and mouse controls and insisted on trying it in the Baron, didn't end well. Should give it another go now I know a bit more perhaps and have a proper setup 😄
Fun Video! Thanks AvAngel! As far as your original engine start, you had your Fuel Selector in the left "Off" position. This is because you are in "Legacy" cursor mode and not "Native/Lock" cursor mode that is default to the sim. I'm assuming you changed cursor mode because the Blue Highlight gets annoying after a while. This is a common issue in all aircraft when using "Legacy" cursor mode. Hopefully Asobo fixes this in the future so people using legacy don't get the wrong tooltips. Some boring knowledge for you! Haha Cheers! Enjoyed the video as always and thank you for flying with Got Friends today :)
unfortunatly the real Draco went destroyed in a take off with side wind (a stupid incident) and I doubt Got Friends will develop the aircraft further, but the new aircrrat in development is really stunning even if unknown to most of simmers. There were only four on buildt and only one finished but it is really wonderful with twin engine on the uppper wing and an all glass cabine like an helicopter. I think the builder is died but not sure.
@@antonioiozzi291 Microsoft also holds rights to Draco now apparently. So, it probably wont be developed further because of licensing. I speculate that MS will probably do an official Draco X when Mike starts building on that. Also, they put an Ascender into a lake, but I did a little snooping through FAA records and their medicals were all renewed years after that and appear to be current. So, unless it was recently. I think they are all good. A lot of those backcountry guys just aren't very open with their lives. Understandably.

Super flight. Thank you for the links to the great bush airports.

Love the little phrases you use from time to time. As always, informative and entertaining. The wooden bars are to prevent erosion, not for grip.
Thank you ! i love idaho . My favorite place : Johnson Creek🤩

Yeah I figured I’d selected the tank, weirdly otherwise times it worked fine , I must have moved the selector those times
Trick Landing is to go much slower than you think
Thank you Avangel ! hope you enjoyed taylor ranch!
Love it!
Making me wanna go there after my day job ;) Thanks Rach

Mix to full rich on start. I was hoping to see you to put the Wilga through its paces. It still intimates me, but I love it.
Not full rich starting at 5000 ft

I enjoyed the fashion evaluation!
thanks, hope to get the Wilga on the next marketplace sale
Ty for showing off my 85U Soldier Bar. I think you’d love Orbx “Idahos Deadly 3”. You’d have a ball, there!
Oh I got‘em!
Awesome vid (as usual). Great flying! 👉👍
Thanks for showcasing Otter Bar! 🔥🦦🔥 So awesome!
It's always enjoyable to watch you fly! Another awesome video! Have a beautiful week!!!👍👍👍
I love your videos have you ever thought about doing a series on different places to fly out of and two. I'm always looking for new places to fly

I don't own many airports outside of BC, but I have a few of the Idaho additions. They're great!
Actually showed off Taylor Ranch in a live stream and forget one of the needed Libraries :D A few ghost buildings appeared which was embarrassing :D
This is where I live!!!
Ever noticed anything wierd in the woods? People going missing or wierd feelings about the dark woods? Idahoe creeped me out

Cool! : p

Fuel tank selector indicator was wrong… it said left but it was actually off.
Damnit XD Thanks :D
Sorry to bug you but how do you hide the hud? Like the compass and airspeed and all that stuff that’s in the corners of the screen
Settings can turn it off
We definetly need Draco
yes!

@@Rotornut44 ah, interessant. Did not knew about the right of Asobo/Microsoft. However I doubt that the real Draco will be rebuild again...
How did you get the gps?
What is the ICAO abbreviation of the last landing site?
Avangel running a checklist! This is the end of the world foretold by the prophets! :D j/k
Anotther Spot on video and perhaps Angel can make a 206 I'd buy it
As much as I like the Wilma the beaver is the one for me.
You worry too much about what other people think, I'd do the same thing too. Love the videos.
😂😂
You’ve got fuel valve closed, that why it didn’t start 😬
Yeah it showed as on left >>
