I just love the way Rick put so much emphasis on certain words. The way he screams 'boring' and tenses up his body at 1:08 cracks me up every time.
Also the face Rik makes at 0:38 while saying "pathetic!"
Despott watchd them all loved every minute of it 😂
It is 0:39 actually
No no, it's wick it's wick
sqqqqquabbbblinnnngggg... bbbbickerrrrrrinnnggg
"What's happening to us? We never used to be like this!"
"...yes we did."
"I don't understand why people with an R in there name are only allowed 1 card !!!"
My parents and I quote that all the time 😂
“Yeah, he’s right, Rik, we’ve always been like this.” 😜
😪🤧🤮🤮🤮🤮🤧
Yeah, we know, we just watched it… omg
More than 3 decades later, I still laugh whenever I see a packet of Cornflakes.
Oh My God I love this show! The hippie, punk rocker, the weirdo and a yuppie all together in one house. A true classic!!
The weirdo, Rick was a student. They all were all students. Rick was supposed to be an anarchist.
Bickewing like childwen
Neil was a hippie student
Rick was a pseudo-intellectual student
Vivian was a pseudo-anarchist punk student
Mike was a mature student
@@johnnyw525 as none of them appeared to actually have went for their lectures, was Mike the only one to qualify? As he could be seen exchanging money for his in the opening credits
Cornflakes, Cornflakes, Cornflakes | The Young Ones | BBC Studios. 11.4.24. 6 pictures of bemused actors with 6 beds....
The way Rick talks to Neil is hilarious 😂
Was shown this show as a child by my father, who was stationed in germany during the 90s and enjoyed this show very much from his time in europe, bringing this show up to brits has always made me friends. Love you pops
my dad was a blue collar guy but said this was his favorite show. He would watch British and canadian shows via satellite. I really dont get this one tho(also showed me sctv which was brilliant). For Young Ones, I guess you had to be there lol
RIP Rik 😢🙏... 10 years today.❤... You are not boring!!!.... You helped by laughing and warning..... 🙏😢❤️
The best bit is the rozzer speaking to the guy ringing on the door bell.... 🤣😂🤣
Ho ho ho ho, hah ha ha Mister S...... you know the rest......
Vivian's letter to the bank is still one of the funniest things I've ever seen
"Ha! And what makes you think your bank manager is a man?"
"His beard".
And I think it was Neil's letter.
My favorite was when they had to share the bathwater. It was practically a black sludge when it was Neil's turn and he simply complains that "it's a bit cloudy, Rick" LOL It's a phrased I've used for three decades now whenever I saw filthy water.
Neil's letter, but composed by the others.
"Darling fascist bullyboy,
Give me some more money, you bastard.
May the seed of your loin be fruitful in the belly of your woman,
Neil."
@@emedel5772 "Neil how you keeping that plantpot up " LOL
I love the guy laughing all the way through
loveit when rik says "It's only 9 words...!"
Can still resite it word for word 35 years later, I watched it over and over back in the day. Wrick was my fave. Brilliant stuff
OH it's not 35 years ago already?! bloody hell
R.I.P Rik Mayall - Comedy Genius
lol r u kidding?
@@TheMabes69 afraid not.
He really is dead
I absloutley love it when Vyv keeps saying "CORNFLAKES!".
100% legend is Ade Edmondson.
It would be nice if the BBC would repeat some of these great shows
they got into a habit a long time ago where they just play the same old shit on schedule every single day. if they do ever repeat anything it would be at christmas and they'd put something shit on like mrs brown boys or miranda
these shows offend grunthos the flatulent who cant handle anyone having fun.
thats why they are so angry and bitter
It has too many white men in it.
@smint smint pity your online though!
Unfortunately the SJW feminist politically correct cancel culture won't have it.
My all time favourite comedy show! Rest In Peace Rik Mayall.. such a tragic loss! :(
Rest in peace Rick Mayall
Silent "P".
News report says he was fit so what could've killed him at 56 years, same age as me and yet looked a damn sight younger, tragic loss to comedy. RIP and condolences to his folks and family.
That's even more tragic and reminds me of Ozzy Osbourne which reminds me too, not to buy one. Thanks for the follow up, I didn't know that.
***** *15 years ago he had his accident
Goes to show there's danger everywhere parents all over the World tell their kids, then adults come along....
One viewing in my teens and I was hooked.
rip rik mayall and thanks for the laughter.xx
Rick was always so funny. I loved the young ones when I was a kid. They were always so cool with the best music guests. When MTV was actually a cool channel
I also remember watching on MTV when I was a kid. I loved it!! My first taste of British humor. RIP RIK
Absolutely! Never got to see them all. But I was probably 15 or 16 and watched every possible episode we could. I always get "corn flakes corn flakes corn flakes" in my head, then I laugh, and nobody else understands. The other episode I loved jad the line "Neil, your bedrooms on fire 🔥!". Lol! Great show
Use to watch the young ones ages ago, gawd how I miss these guys, they were all bloody bonkers!!!!!! Lol😂
Alexei Sayle? Dexys midnight motherfuckers? Whip Wick and Panick?
music guests got better as the series went on, I'd hardly consider the band on the first episode well known and I never heard of Rip Rig and Panic.
That fellas laugh in the background always gets me 😂😂😂😂😂
To think they nearly had Rik Mayall as Peeves in the Harry Potter films. He'd have been 'bwilliant!!"
Oh man that would've been great!
Harry Potter is TRASH
@@ianmangham4570 No it's not
@@malahammer No it's Yes
@@ianmangham4570 I think it's a pretty decent adventure series for kids. I had fun with it in my younger days, even if I don't particularly care for or about it now.
Still makes me laugh 35 years later.
40 years now!
I love that Rick has gone with the Double Rats-Tail here! He without doubt would have been the coolest kid in my school with those... Respect.
A blast from the past, different times indeed.
Yong ones are just so great.
I remember this show when it had 1st aired on MTV when the entire 1980s were incredibly awesome and memorable.
I can hear Murdoc doing his "Hawh Hawh Hawh" laugh
squabbling...bickewing....
Wonnie Pickewing XD
@@donaldderp1602 gotta love wonnie pickewing.
RIP Mayall!! Allways watched this show in Sweden so hilarious and genius!!
I love the person laughing in this, never forgotten him :D.
It's hilarious how Viv starts out saying "All you have to do" and explains the rules only to immediately contradict himself, saying "Only it's not true" before listing further rules to the contest
When this aired in The States I was 14, was a punk skater, expert ABA/NBL/MBL BMX racer…what a perfect time in life that was. We’d get together each week & watch this, it was awesome then as it is awesome still.
Will be missed so funny these were the days rip dude
" Oh that's nice isn't it, that's vewy nice! Coming fwom someone as borwing as you! "
Wik weally kills me when he delivers that line.
Rik's visit to the DHSS is one of my favourite scenes 😂
...Look out Cliff... - Thank you Young Ones for making me grow up with a sense of humour...
Love this series of young-uns.
And to think the BBC has gone to this to Mrs Browne's Boys.
+ROLLING STONE And Russel Howard, it's not funny anymore.
I'd argue these shows are equally bad
Be fair, we can't expect someone like Rik Mayall and Monty Python crew with every decade.
tbh most bbc comedies in the 70s-80s were pretty shit. This was one of the good ones
@@hokayso4530 Think you have the wrong show pal, this is the Young ones
just imagine murdoc yelling “cORNFLAKES CORNFLAKES CORNFLAKES-”
dahm3rrr BRUH I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO SAW MURDOC AS ED AND 2D AS RIK
😂🤣 This show was utterly brilliant
If I was trapped on an island with only shelter, food, and a few dvd's to watch, the young ones would be in my collection.
My god the quality on this is FANTASTIC.
So funny back in the day when TV was good 🤣 😆
Rick is just being SOOO CUUUUTE ♥
He got me at "Cornflakes" 👍🏻
vyvan is so funny lol
Wasn't he in The Last Jedi? The First Order commander that said "Right away, sir." right after Kylo Ren Force pushed Hux.
@@Zoloft77 uh, no. Vivian's actor is Eddie from bottom he's still alive never did star wars lol, Richie passed away in 2015 unfortunately
Loved this show. Even though I didn't understand some of the bits because of the British references, it was still hilarious.
Watching this makes me feel old all of a sudden. Where has the edge gone and the last 30 odd years went.
The edge has disappeared through progressive political correctness which ironically, the Young Ones largely promoted.
This show ended over 30 years ago yet its still popular and I love it, why did they not make more?
They did, they’re called ‘Bottom’
@@oystermouth1971 Bottom is another brilliant show, I love guest house paradisio too
Sir 69 filthy rich and cat flap?????
Because the show was made in the 80s for 20-30yr old college students, then the 90s rolled around are they were all in their 30s and 40s. So they made bottom by taking the two actors with the best chemistry and giving them a show.
@@mildred714happy families is also a good un 🍀
My favorite episode was when he thought he was pregnant 😂
Vyvyan, notwithstanding all his psychopathic proclivities, is such a sweetheart in a way. He's my fav. 😊
Yes, YOU decided Michael!
This is the best show of all time
Its drop dead Fred!!!! 😍
And Kevin Turvey, Richie, Alan B*stard & Lord Flashheart
Cornflakes, cornflakes, cornflakes, cornflakes, cornflakes, cornflakes, cornflakes, cornflakes, cornflakes!
“I caught cornflakes disease!” -Drop Dead Fred
absolutely brilliant. y'all should post more of these guys.
God love tv in the mid 80s.....
I loved watching this as a 9 year old boy, my parents went mad the first time they saw it. Had to watch it round a mates on the betamax
The backings of those star studs go all the way through to the inside of Vyvan's skull, don't they?
Nah, just stuck on with Superglue.
Though that would explain a few things.....then again the Superglue story also clarifies a few things
He did once refuse to go out in the rain because "my head will rust"...
Brilliant comedy...so watchable ...
RIP Rick xx
i'm only 18 y/o but when i was a little kid this series still played in catalan tv. I loved the young ones!
Adrian Edmanson is my favourite carachter in the Young Ones to play Vyvyan.
rik mayall... super missed
Comedic genius.
Rick: Sanguine
Vyvyan: Choleric
Neil: Melancholic
Mike: Phlegmatic
Nice
I love the young ones there so funny especially niel best character ever
This was the best time in my adult life! ❤️🤣
Takes me bk to the good old days,Benny Hill, the young ones, Mrs brown boys, stand apart English comedy 😋😋
The Irish are to blame for Mrs Brown's Boys not Britain
Anyone else think Mike looks like Simon Cowell...?
'Mike' is actually attractive and has non offensive features and expressions.
yea
"THE MOST BORING MAN ON EARTH'S GETTING A TASTE OF HIS OWN MEDICINE!"

Thank you Rik and Ade, now I can complete my Amazon reviews... cornflakes, cornflakes, cornflakes, cornflakes, cornflakes, cornflakes, cornflakes, cornflakes, cornflakes......... cornflakes
I always think of this every time I have a bowl of Cornflakes
Lol at the guy hackling in the background. :-D
Smashing series
I love this show
watched religiously in auclkland as a kid
NOW WHO STOLE MY LAST COOKIE FROM MY COOKIE JAR SIMON WORK? LOVE U2
Everyone I've met in life says they have never seen this show. It was in syndication but I use to watch this on PBS friday or Saturday nights in the early 90s
I love that these geniuses were a part of my childhood. Th EV 80’s fxking kicked ass!!
Great comedy watched it when first aired RIP rick
THANK U SANITARIUM AUCKLAND HEAD OFFICE FOR DINNER TONIGHT LOL
I've actually done Cornflakes with beer instead of milk. I was young and impetuous. Now I'm 58 and impetuous and escorted home by the pigs for chasing my GF around a bin in a public park with a flick knife because she is VERY LOUD and attracts unwanted attention when I'm getting pissed cause I'm banned from all the local pubs! True!
I love the cornflakes bit. There's a corn refining plant nearby which smells like cornflakes when the wind is blowing in the right direction. I always have to giggle when driving by it.
"Cornflakes" is my go-to whenever I'm filling out some stupid survey and they want me to state in more than X words why I think Y
I like Stork margarine because I've only got one leg.
R.I.P Rik Mayall
I love that show
Saddened to hear Mayall has past... Young Ones always a little part of me.
I met him once when he came into our local pub which was in partick glasgow couldnt believe it looked so tall
the one the only young ones these guys made british sitcoms great😍
Hey guys do you get it? He had to write about cornflakes, so he just....he just wrote cornflakes! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA
they'll never be another one like u RIP RIK xx
Squabblingggggg..... Bickeringgggg!
He's my favorite
The Young ones was Excellent
Rik Mayall such a tragic lose
Sitcom-wise this was the most brilliant thing I've ever seen come out of England. I mourned for a month when I went back to my (remember this?) locally owned rental store only to find one season existed. I was aghast! It made no sense. Makes it all the more valuable I suppose. Never had the chance to, so to say, jump the shark.
I know this may be six years too late, but there were two seasons
Monopoly?
Yes.
Rick reminds my of Stewy Griffith
Another character Rik Mayall played might remind some people of Quagmire and would definitely be a rival for him in the sex-fiend department except that he doesn't have to roofie anyone to get her to sleep with him - look up Lord Flashheart.
*Griffin. But yeah he does have an air of Stewie.
Anyone else used to watch this late at night on YTV in the 90's?
yup
Cornflakes, Cornflakes, Cornflakes, Cornflakes, Cornflakes, Cornflakes, Cornflakes, Cornflakes, Cornflakes.
Opps Cornflakes,
R.I.P. Rik. I enjoyed this back in the day.
