      Thanks Kev, A couple of people have suggested the filters will work just as well as the nexus, If they end up running ok with no issues then maybe i will save myself a grand and keep them, Just depends how much agro the cleaning will be on the sponges lol.

      @@BlingKingMarvellous if the cleaning is a pain, keep the moving bed and stick one of the cheap drums in front of it. About the same cost as a nexus and much better, near maintenance free, mechanical filtration.

      I would hate to think lol, i'll try and have a work out. But just in case the missus see's this reply, It was around £150 for everything. That included 4 skips, all the bricks, the liner, cement pour etc etc, Oh and all the fish. Yes £150 sounds about right mate lol

    • @BlingKingMarvellous
      @BlingKingMarvellous  3 года назад +1

      Hi, thanks for the comments, I think including the filters etc its around 2700 gallons. Dimensions are 4.9m length - 1.9m width - 1.2m depth . Depth wasn't as deep as i would of liked due to the concrete mess up. probably would have been close to another 10 inches in depth if it wasn't for their bodge up.

      @@BlingKingMarvellous l think your pond is nearly the same size as mine. I don't know for certain as I messed up measuring it when I filled for the first time e.g. stopping let a bit out and refilling etc. The only way I will know now is a fully drain and refill

      Hi Gary, Thanks for the comments, I think they are 8 inch or 9 inch discs, running separately on 2 air pumps, a 70L pump and a 60L pump, There is approx 125L of k1 in a 500L box to give you an idea of how much is currently turning over, But i will add more and see if it still moves ok.

    • @BlingKingMarvellous
      @BlingKingMarvellous  3 года назад +1

      Hi Andrew, Nothing special mate. I have a 500L filter box that has 2 x 4 inch inlet pipes from the drains. Both of those pipes have 400 micron socks on them. Easy to clean them once a week rather than the sponges each time. then the box itself has the usual 3 colour sponges, and some cotton wool for polishing. from there it goes into another identical 500L K1 moving bed with approx 130L of k1 in it. Then returns to the pond. There is also an old green sieve that runs off the skimmer for any surface stuff. Will be good to see how it performs in the summer.
