i love hearing these old tracks, i was always in search of the electric boogie , hip hop and so on , in holland, but it was very hard to get these records in the 80's , they were very expensive, and hard or not to get. bless the internet so i can still hear them after all this time, THX for putting this on the tube
The best music of my life I heard in Fresno growing up. I learned to pop hard, too, I couldn't break because of a bum knee I had, so I had to develop poppin' skills. We had battles at the Dickey Center, I remember the attention and the camaraderie, me and my friends even "camped" in the alley near Belmont & Blackstone. Right next to the building where the doctor was tortured and murdered, in fact. That was my neighborhood, sadly.
Hip Hop is an entire culture - Electro music as a style is part of Hip Hop for sure, just as is breaking and graffiti... it's all street level art (Hip Hop).
@3:33 You know it's time to place down the lino! When that beat starts rolling, bam! My favourite part. One of the most underrated electro tracks of the '80s I reckon.
Always loved how these labels like Techno Hop, Kru Cut and Strong Arm looked. Just ghetto & homemade lookin, nothing fancy!!! That's what hip hop is supposed to be!!!!
people post really stupid comments!!, I know very well that its old school, look at my channel you will see other "OLD SCHOOL"electro sound from the 80´s
@rtwow to quote the X-Men "we have heard techno attempted and yet sadly you have failed - let's just stick to vice miami, leave the techno to LA".. (also, you should fix your shift-key, it seems to be stuck)
I wouldn't class Jean Michel Jarre as electro. Yes it's electronic music just as The Human League is but it's not classed as Electro. The Electro sound should have elements such as funk/break orientated drum pattern - example 'Tour de France' by Kraftwerk or 'Rock It' by Herbie Hancock. This is what gives it the sound that breakers can dance to. Thus becoming part of Hip Hop culture.
Early electro was part of the foundations of Hip Hop. More than just a trend.
If you grew up around Djs like I did..You know tracks like this exist..
Techno Hop/Oldschool Electro. Throwback into the year 1991 for me.
Electro! All day long - part of the fundamentals of 80's Hip Hop, especially when B-Boying.. 'breaking' came to prominence in the early to mid 80's.
Let’s Jam takes me back to KDAY Radio Mix Master Jamin Gemini. Techno Hop Music at its finest
