It may only be 500 pieces, but is this the hardest Harry Potter puzzle out there? This is a lenticular/3D puzzle that came from Costco. The picture on the puzzle pieces changes depending on what direction you look at it. This makes finding pieces near impossible! Can we complete it?

We bought the same puzzle, did the same one, and agreed that it was one of the most difficult puzzles we’ve ever done… Well done, 10 points to Slytherin
Glad you didn't give up and kudos to Tim for the back-up! Thank you for suffering on our behalf to save us from certain doom!
As someone who loves putting puzzles together and has put together MANY, I will say that this looks like an extremely difficult puzzle! The pieces are all too close in shape and size, so it makes it hard to even pick out unique edges of the pieces. Good job Peter! You didn’t give up! 👏
The longer it took you to do the puzzle, the more kinda worried you got and the more funnier the video became 😂😂😂
Yeees! At the beginning he was so excited, and by each day excitement started to wear off 😂
Job Well Done Peter!
Thank you!!!
Well done, dragon!
...I mean, well done, Peter! Haha!
I would frame that if I were you so it'd serve as a reminder of a challenge you almost gave up on but still overcame. Great piece of work, too.
Thanks man! 😄
I absolutely love doing puzzles! Some puzzles I start with the outside first. For example, the LitJoy puzzles, I do the outside first then the inside. Some puzzles like the Glow in the Dark Hogwarts castle, I start in the middle because the outside are all the same color. You can see me filming puzzle videos on my RUclips channel if your interested! I have not done the 3D puzzle before. I plan to someday though. I’m sure I will feel the same way as you Peter as I do the 3D puzzles. Thank you for sharing!
Hahaha you probably will, they're ridiculously hard. (Coming from a puzzle lover myself lol)
Oh my gosh, GREAT JOB finishing it! My heart went out to you toward the beginning.
I’ve never done a lenticular puzzle, but I did do a “3D” one once (with the red and blue lines - it included 3D glasses), and that was difficult too.
Next time: sort the pieces both by color (obviously a little trickier with this one) and then by piece shape. Then, even if you get stuck, you can go through methodically in spots where you know to a certain extend the “nob” placement.
Don’t blame you for skipping the second one though… puzzles are meant to be FUN! The New York Puzzle Co. HP puzzles are much more fun. I loved “Counting the Days.”
That brought back some vivid memories for me... suddenly I could see some of my favourite jigsaw puzzles in my minds eye. Some from over 60 years ago... the last one I did was in the 1980's, a group of open suitcases. From their contents you had to deduce who was the murderer in a back story. Literally a puzzle within a puzzle. Thanks for the memories Peter.
The community will always be behind you.
Man my Aunt just got me one of these puzzles - mine is the Hogwarts Express and it’s so hard! Took it on a family vacation where like 6 other family members were helping but we still didn’t finish before we had to pack up and leave. It’s so hard to see the pieces. The pieces also didn’t seem to fit right, or they would fit in places but they had the slightest of gaps that made it seem like it was the wrong place. 🤯 My brain hurts.
Early! 😁🥰😁⚡️ (p.s. I think you should try the Marauders Map puzzel from noble collection. All the pieces are same colour with some have a pattern on)
Eek! The thought terrifies me!
I've done it... It was a nightmare
Ohhh have to try it
I've done it! It had 1k pieces! It's framed in my room now! It took me and Mum 12hrs to complete.
@@jessicafalzon9985 I'm a puzzle hound. Anything with a challenge
That's a crazy 3D puzzle! It's difficult, too. But I'm glad you've done it!
I’m glad I’ve done it and glad it’s done! 😄
I love how it's just getting progressively darker outside throughout the video 😆😆😆
Ha! And then… day two… repeat. 😂
My grandpa is a puzzle master ,and I love your video's 😍
I work at Costco and I always think of Peter when I walk by this puzzle!
Now when I see it, it has a whole new meaning 😂
Haha!!! Sorry to make it negative now!
@Nina M Haha I meant that Emily had positive thoughts about Harry Potter and how we share that love and now the thoughts are going to be "The Potter Collector HATES that puzzle." ;)
You're a brave man, Peter👏
Complete side note, I really enjoyed the background music. I'm not a music expert, by no means, but it sounded like bagpipes playing. Great job on finishing the puzzle as well!
You singing “where are you little puzzle piece” and trying one and saying no got me 😂
LOL when you filmed your dog and said Jet you're not helping. I was like I'm Sorry! because thats my name 😂
You KNOW your people love you when they are willing to watch you put a puzzle together!😂❤
Congrats on not quitting, Peter. 🏆
We tried to do a HP puzzle the day of the HP reunion. It was the scene where the first years are arriving in boats with the castle in the background. It wasn't lenticular but it was extremely hard. We had multiple hands on it for days before we all gave up. Probably would have left it out but we needed the space. Good job on completing your puzzle and no I won't be buying it in the sale. 🤣
@@KiwiMike yes, with Hedwig flying over. We never finished it. 😂
If you don’t want those puzzles I’d gladly take them off your hands! I love puzzles! Actually have all of the individual diagonal alley shops 3-D puzzles
Peter I'm glad you didn't give up. It looked great. Yay for Tim for helping. I go for both shape and color after finishing the border. We used to do puzzles together as a family when I was younger, put the together and then put the puzzle glue on it and hang it up in the living room. Thanks for the video.
I find that with puzzles, if I hit a wall I need to leave it for a few hours or even a few days. When I come back with fresh eyes, I tend to get a bit more done. It can take me weeks to complete a complicated puzzle for that reason!
6:43 it was at this moment that he knew he fudged up
Well done Tim. I saw you working upside down there!
The hardest puzzle I've ever done was a two sized Star Wars puzzle that was the same image on each side, just turned 90 degrees. I still don't think I did it totally right, but it mostly fit together. Lol. The one that took me the longest though was a 3000 piece puzzle of Hogwarts. I think it took about a month and I had two people helping me for 2 weeks. I start with the edges, then move to obvious colors (like the Harry Potter name), then sort the pieces into similar colors and go from there. Once I get to where all the colors seem the same I sort them into shapes and search that way. I also find lighting makes a BIG difference. I hate overhead lights because they always make a weird glare. This is definitely on my list of puzzles to get now!
I usually go for the frame aswell and then by the shapes on the picture like you did Peter, but when I get to the point where all the puzzle pieces are very similar in shapes or are just colored jn one color, then I sort them out by the shape of a puzzle piece (2 inverted holes, 3 inverted holes etc.)
If your not sure if the pieces actually go together, the key is turning it over. You’ll see a teeny tiny gap or misalignment if it’s not correct!
I’m glad you got the puzzle put together after so much struggle 😂
Also at 11:12 when you sang that was surprisingly really good 😂
I love puzzles. Normally its border first, then faces and objects then sort by color and work on sections. Patience is a virtue for sure. Great job looked amazing and very challenging.
I'm definitely a puzzle person. I once did a 3,000 piece puzzle! It took 2 weeks including breaks for sleeping, meals, my dog, work, & a family vacation
the thing about alot of jigsaw puzzles is to not actually rush to try and get it done in a time frame but just to try and do it in a chill out manor, ive seen people take months to do puzzles because they just come back to it fresh and just when having a bit of free time to ocupy etc so try not to stress about it
Hey 👋, I don’t start by the edges, instead I usually start matching them by pattern or figures from the puzzle image, 😅 that’s probably a bad plan and no wonder it always take me so long to finish one, lol 😂
PS: you should also try the Litjoy puzzles from the other video, or a 4D Harry Potter puzzle!! 👏👏❤️❤️
I wouldn't mind at all have "my day" type of videos more! Like there can always be something hp related as well but who doesnt love watching food videos! :D
Food videos are some of my favorite for sure!
I never had puzzles growing up so when I became an adult i once thought that would be a fun hobby. i asked my friend to give me some puzzles for Xmas. And then i realised that yeah, you need to have too much free time on your hands. And that actually big puzzles give me frustration and anxiety instead of helping to relax. i now cannot understand how people do puzzles for fun - it is pure torture)))
I hope I can find these puzzles for my son! He loves puzzles and is very good doing them!! Congratulations on getting it done!!
You did it...Congratz. I have a puzzle I started then stopped bc I got fed up, but however I did not take it apart fully ,just stored it to finish at another time. It's a glow in the dark Tigers one. I just gotta buckle down an finish it bc I know I'll love it once its done an up on my wall. I however would never do one of these ether.
What a coincidence! I finally put together the HP puzzle I got in a Litjoy Crate 2 or 3 years ago. It was more fun than I was expecting. Not planning to try 3-D or anything fancy though. I ordered a Ravensburger called "Gloomy Carnival" for my second puzzling experience, lol
Excellent job on completing that puzzle. Last month I did a Harry Potter 1000 piece puzzle at it took me exactly two weeks to complete. It shows all of the movie posters on it and in the middle is the golden trio. As for the way I do puzzles it depends on the picture itself. And finally that cake looks delicious, I am a cake person myself.
This and the marauders map, the large 1000 piece one, have gotta be the hardest Harry Potter ones I’ve seen. Recently completed the MM one and it took forever
I have done a Harry Potter lenticular puzzle once before. I bought one from Home Goods that showed Ron and Harry driving (flying) Ron’s dad’s Ford Anglia car above the Hogwarts Express train. It was also 500 pieces. I love doing jigsaw puzzles and didn’t find it difficult to put together. I would love to try doing these two puzzles. I loved the fact that after you finish the puzzle you can pick up the whole puzzle without it falling apart at all. I did end up gluing the back of the puzzle with puzzle glue and then wrapping the whole puzzle in the clear plastic gift basket type of wrap.
Lol I hate puzzles and people keep gifting me with hp ones I always smile and thank them but I scream inside lolol 😅😬🤣 good for you for doing this!!! Greetings from Greece ❤️
I'm proud of you for not quitting!
Thanks Jessica!!!
First of all Peter that cake looked delicious 😋, it made my mouth water lol, I'm definitely a cake person over pie. Well done one sticking it out and getting the job done, the puzzle looked fantastic. I'm contemplating buying this for my friend for her birthday as she love puzzles. Much love and Keep Collecting. xx
Cake for SURE! Well, if she’s a puzzle girl now, she may not be after this one. 😉 It is a beautiful puzzle though!!
@@ThePotterCollector She definitely is a puzzle girl and need something difficult as she finds them to easy. xx
Hey Peter love your videos hope you are well keep collecting ☺️
Keep Collecting! I’m glad you’re here. 💚
I love jigsaw puzzles! Although, I have never tried doing a 3D jigsaw puzzle.
That's a crazy 3D puzzle! It looks so difficult, too. But I'm glad you've done it! If you were me even though it was only a 500 piece puzzle, I would take weeks for me to finish!
I have a way I do Is Linti clear puzles Since they moved too much when I put them together right side out right set up I put on one cardboard and put it together upside down side down where you're only looking at the back Of the puzzle and when you flip it over it's altogether it's easier for me that way in case you want to try it on your other puzzle
I have a Harry Potter puzzle of Harry when he is flying around all of the keys in the Chamber of Secrets. It was incredibly difficult, I gave up and it’s going in a garage sale next week. So I can imagine the struggle. Great job not giving up and finishing it! I like cake better than pie.
Peter, your patience is unwavering. Like I said on Instagram, it usually ends up either flipping the table or a few glasses of wine in after trying a puzzle 😳😂
Honestly, this looks like something I'd have fun with. I like difficult puzzles because a lot of them are too easy, but I used tear through puzzles as a kid. I generally start with the edges then put together any parts that are designs or obviously are grouped together. Fill in from there. You did really well! Congratulations on finishing!
I too have purchased this puzzle set. I attempted the trio's other puzzle, I got so far, but the 3-D puzzles are definitely more difficult. You did amazing!
Nice Peter. I have done 3 Harry Potter puzzles during the pandemic, but not this kind just because I haven't found the right image for me. I'm glad you finished it.
I’m glad too! I just can’t not finish something. What images did you pick for the ones you did during the pandemic?
@The Potter Collector the puzzle with the Mary GrandPré books covers, Diagon Alley and Hogwarts's castle at night. The 3 puzzles were 1000 pieces, and I framed 2 of them for my dad; he is 82 years old and loves Harry Potter, but he has poor vision to do it.
3rd puzzle person- Someone who doesn’t do puzzles just for the love of puzzles. But will do a puzzle when the picture is of something they love.
CAKE!!!
I am so NOT a puzzle person but I watched this anyway. My mother adored puzzles and when she passed she donated over 100 puzzles to the hospital unit I was working on. Too bad she never got to do a lenticular puzzle, though. She would have loved it. And I prefer pie.
When Peter is like, "I can't find the eye!" and at 3:18 I was like, "Oh look! There's the eye!" 😅
There you go. With some persistence and good friends you can accomplish anything. Well done. 👍
I love the music in this video! 😍
So happy you are feeling better!
You need to do the other puzzle......that episode had me laughing lmao.......I thought you were going to quit but you proved me wrong..WELL DONE DRAGON!!!!!!!
Oh such fun. Pie is my favorite.
The patronus puzzle was the hardest I’ve done and it took a week for me to finish and there was plenty of tears but well worth it.
Oh what beautiful dogs, Basenji's right? Well done for completing the puzzle, that looked tricky!
You're N.E.W.T. student now!!! Congratulations on completing that exhausting puzzle🧩🧩🧩🧩
Definitely gonna search for lenticular puzzles now. It looks so fun to mess up with
It's been a long time since i have done a puzzle, but I always would pick out the border first to help a bit and build from there.
Im not much on puzzles but I’m a serious HP Lego collector! It’s extremely addictive. I enjoyed your Lego owl video. It’s out of my price range for now. Still enjoyed watching this video though 💛💛💛
Can't believe how many times you referred to the artwork. The first thing I do when completing any jigsaw, no matter how hard it is, is to hide away the box cover and/or any artwork showing the finished puzzle.
Definitely a cake over pie person. I LOVE puzzles but I definitely understand your frustration and I don't think I could do that puzzle either so thanks for the heads-up and thanks for suffering through it for us! LOL it looks great. Loved your door dash mini vlog too.
I just finished one with the train just like that. And yes, it was so hard. But it turned out beautiful!!
Well done Peter! That puzzle looked so tricky - I felt your pain.
We got a similar HP 3-D puzzle for Christmas - it WAS very difficult! It took all four of us to get it done!!
When I do a puzzle like this! Is one off thing! I glue it after to a card board of a picture frame and hang it on the wall and admire it! Or of its any that I like to remake I number them on the back, and if I get over stressed I look for it to get done! 😅 But that first time it's always the most difficult part! 😂😊❤️
Well I think that two people working this hard puzzle Peter, in just two days is outstanding.
I am not really a puzzle person either but I can see all colors and
I would think a puzzle like this would be meant to take at least a month to put together !!
So well done Peter, 10 points to Slytherin.
I'm definitely a puzzle person but that looks difficult even for me. Cake would be my choice as well. Glad you didn't give up!!
I'm proud of you for not giving up.
Yey!!! Love puzzles, love Harry Potter! Perfect video for me!❤️
totaly the same for me
It’s cake and pie! Not one or the other. Both are great. My family tried a Harry Potter lenticular puzzle and even my husband who does many thousand piece puzzles gave up after we struggled to get the border done. On ours the pieces didn’t fit well either. Well done dragon!
I do puzzles by looking at the shape and then sometimes I look at the color but it's hard doing that on that particular puzzle
Shout out to your friend that came and helpt you!
I did a 3D puzzle that was JUST LADYBUGS in different colours crawling over each other. I kept it under a glass plate on my table for a while because it took so long to make and I was so proud after.
Good puzzle. Cute dogs. Basenji is the best dog. I had Three basenji
Amazing ❤️
I’m definitely would say cake is better but pie is great too.
When I’m doing puzzles I start with the edges, and then I try to build in from the edges. So I’ll pick a shape connected to the edge and try to build that.
That looks so hard haha I love puzzles, obviously start at the edges too and then use more the shapes and then color, I find color is too confusing sometimes. I would recommend next time to put something below the puzzle to be able to move it without everything falling apart haha specially if you need to use the table for other purposes in the meantime. Even though it was hard, the final result is great!
I just love puzzling. Everything with a challenge. Currently doing a 1000 piece puzzle with snape, draco& bellatrix.
i do colors when i do puzzles. This was a great team effort. Good job y'all
That puzzle looks insanely difficult. It’s frustrating yet so fulfilling to solve. I like cake and pie equally, but not while puzzling. That’s a bigger thing for a relatively clumsy person.
YAY!!! Potter Collector video!!!!!
Glad you’re doing better.
Seeing this made me want to buy of them to see if it’s actually so hard! Though honestly, I don’t have much patience so who knows how the whole thing will turns out haha
Word of advice: DON’T. It’s actually so hard.
I am a huge puzzle person, and lenticular puzzles are HARD!!! Even though I love puzzles, I too will never do another lenticular...unless someone pays me a very large sum of money upfront lol
Great job! Now I want to try a lenticular puzzle lol. Great job persevering and getting it done!
Cake>pie. I usually sort by color or by section like you did (after doing the edges first of course!).
I feel like you MIGHT be stalling a little bit if you’re unboxing dinner 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Haha!
I was wondering what the beeping sound was.
If you've got the budget (it's not that pricy for what it is) - I suggest the DJI Osmo Pocket! It has upped my photo-videography hobby to a new level, and it may help you with vlogs, timelapses, panoramic shots etc. It's small and convenient to carry with you, and you can mounth it on tripods pr connect to your phone.
I also made a Harry potter 3D puzzle. But mine is the scene where harry and ron are in the car and the train was about to crush them. I love harry potter and I love puzzles, I have already done three of harry potter, 1 of 500 in 3D and 2 normal of 1000 and I have another two to put together 🙈. Don't give up on the puzzles it's very satisfying once you finish them
Hi Peter, I agree this was a hardest puzzle well done in completing. Recently got this and your video helped me a lot. Can you share the image of the puzzle that you completed?
I love puzzles, but I've never done any lenticular ones. You and Tim did it! I am so proud of you both=3
I loved this puzzle so much. I got it for Christmas along with the durmstrang ship 3d puzzle. You should do a video on the durmstrang 3d puzzle
This was great! I'd love to see more HP puzzle videos.
