Thank you so much. One side on my 2008 was stuck, and it worked! Next, I want to just remove the top completely, living in Tombstone, Arizona where I rarely need it -- but my girlfriend, conscious of her hairdo, is resisting that. Will tempt her with the promise of putting a REAL SUITCASE in the trunk!

Thanks so much! My buttresses are fine, but after washing the car, the trunk relooks immediately when I try to open it. Of course, this only happens the day before Father’s Day when my husband’s gift is in the trunk! Now he gets to really work at opening his present! 😂😂

Unlatch top inside then hit button till opens worked for me push top back a little helps too.

3 days ago I received my 2009 solstice from the US. I have seen your video how to open the top and did all the way and worked fine. But, there is one problem ad that is the trunk is not completely closing and showing trunk a jar. It’s not closing well. What to do? I don’t want to hurt the trunk or damage it. My solstice is almost new and done only 5300 miles only. Please advice me in my personal email. Regards. Khalid

Just curious- if someone was trapped in the trunk- shouldn't the manual pull cord also release the buttresses? Otherwise what is the point of having one in there..... Make you hate your life more in that situation haha. Not actually funny but just popped into my mind while watching. Good video either way.

The same tool should help in this case, temporarily, but it sounds like the issue lies in either the emergency release cable, or the main release cable not springing back after disengagement.
