Fishing W/ The Googan Toad For The First Time!!!! On The Water Lure Review!!!

  • This is the first time I have ever thrown a Googan Toad! Definitely a productive lure with absolutely insane results!!!! Almost completely perfect in every way (Shape, Size, Weight, etc...), this lure takes a very high rating from me 👍. The only downside is how easily the plastic gets ripped up... a firmer blend of plastic and this lure could be 💰 in the bank!!!
    Joe from Live 2 Fish has an excellent video on how to extend the life of your lures! Check this video out if you plan on using these Googan baits yourself!!!
    Get More Life from your soft plastics
    • Get MORE use out of yo...
    Special thanks to Joe (Live 2 Fish) and Bryan (The Michigan Fisherman) for giving this lure such a high recommendation and putting it on my radar! Go Check Out Their Channels!!!

    Thanks for the shoutout, buddy!
    I knew you would have success with the Googan Toad!
    I agree with everything you said. I LOVE the weight of the lure because the longer you can cast it, the more ground you can cover and the better your odds are of putting that toad in the right spot.
    I wish they would use a firmer plastic as well. Yeah, on the bandito bug or the krackin craw you want that super soft plastic and scent to make sure the fish holds on for that extra time for you to feel it and get a hookset.
    But for a toad, you don’t need that. You’re gonna see the hit.
    Awesome video, Zero!

      Absolutely bro!!! You and Joe put this lure on my radar and the shout out was just giving credit where it's due lol. I was absolutely thrilled with the overall performance of the Googan toad!!! It was really exciting to finally be able to have some topwater blow-ups to show on the channel! The weight of it is incredible... I can cast a mile if I want to and that's absolutely required sometimes. Maybe they will get the idea about using a firmer blend and it will become the most fire topwater bass lure there is!!! They could even use a bit firmer blend on the bandito bug too... I have used some of the firmest plastisol there is on some of my lures and the Bass don't seem to drop it any faster than the softer blends. Although if they used that, there may be a small sacrifice to the action of appendages. Thanks for watching and commenting bro 👍🙏

    You KNOW how I feel about those Googan Toads! Those green pumpkin pearl are absolute BEASTS! It’s topwater, it’s sub surface, add a bullet weight and it REALLY mimics a real toad.
    I was going to suggest the screw lock, but you threw that shout out in - much appreciated friend! It isn’t until you use them that you realize that you can really extend their use with them. I was stoked to have been there for The MIchigan Fisherman’s FIRST toad bite!
    This is why I have SO much hope for the ZMan GOAT Toadz. They have SO much more durability with the Elaztech technology. I can’t wait for the topwater bite to compare the two. The legs get torn up regardless of the screw lock. Loved that first cast and that toad getting knocked off but you getting it back at the end there.
    Great job out there BZ - you just can’t beat those topwater toad chomps! Great video my friend and can’t wait to fish with you here in MI! I’ll make sure the fridge is stocked with Mt Dew! Much love from the mitten my brother! ❤️🎣

      🤣😂👍 That Toad is absolutely awesome 👌! I was looking through the color patterns on the Bass Pro website and when I saw the green pumpkin pearl I knew it was in there!!!! I figured it was time for some topwater because in a previous episode I had a bass chase and smack the bandito bug on the surface lol. Absolutely thrilled with the overall performance of the Googan Toad and I can see why you and Bryan like it soo much!!! There is definitely nothing like that topwater blow-up to get the heart racing! I also remembered your video on how to get extra life out of it so the shout out was completely necessary here bro!!! That is an incredible idea! 🤣😂 you know it's Dew over everything!!! Looking forward to hittin' the mitten with you bro!!!! Thanks for watching and commenting bro 👍🙏

    that is a bait I see live 2 fish use that I want to try, but I'm partial to a hollow body myself. we need to talk to z-man about making a frog.

    • @beardzerofishing
      @beardzerofishing  2 года назад +2

      That is 100% the reason I decided to try this lure... Live 2 Fish and The Michigan Fisherman!!!! These guys swore by this lure and I can see why!!! The Hollow body frogs definitely produce fish and for fishing pads or grass they are hard to beat. They are limited though to topwater only... that's just all you can use them for. The solid soft plastic frogs can be used much more versatility to include subsurface. That would definitely be something if Googan and Z-man could link up on the Toad!!! The same Googan lure with the Z-man plastic and it would be insane!!!! Thanks for watching and commenting bro 👍🙏

      Let's goooooo!!! I was absolutely impressed by the Googan toad! It was an incredible day on the water especially since we had storm fronts moving through, I wasn't sure exactly how the fishing would go lol. I don't mind a little bit of wind but them 20 mph+ keep me on the bank 🤣😂. Sour Bill is not Ocean rated by any means lol. Thanks for watching and commenting bro 👍

    Man, the Googan Toad was on fire! Great job showcasing the bait. You need to find a way to add some toad legs to your custom tubes! Great video.

    • @beardzerofishing
      @beardzerofishing  2 года назад

      It certainly was on fire 🔥!!! I was absolutely amazed by the overall performance, if they just make it with tougher plastic... it would take the lake by storm!!! 🤣😂👍 You must be able to read minds... I have already started tinkering with the custom tubes to see about legs for a topwater version! Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🙏

    Nothing beats some top water fish! I haven't tried that toad. My biggest issue with the Googan baits is the lack of durability. Im a fan of the Stanley Ribbit frogs. But you can't go wrong listening to Joe or Brian. They know their stuff! Great video man!

      I lived in Southern New Hampshire for a few years, we had lots of large pounds and small lakes, mid summer to late fall we had Lily Pads in all the shallow waters, the top water fishing was spectacular, to say the least, you literally got tired of catching bass, if we had that googan frog back then, lights out baby!

    Hey dude, helluva good job whackin em on stillhouse! I tried to fish at stillhouse marina last week, no luck...
    That's a fragile toad, have you tried the strike king rage tail toad, or the zoom horny toad for calmer days.
    You should come down to redbud isle for an urban bank fishing video

    • @beardzerofishing
      @beardzerofishing  Год назад

      Thank you! If you liked this one, then you will definitely want to see my spring fishing on Stillhouse this year. An absolute slay fest with some giants caught!
      The Stillhouse marina is a tough spot to fish and I have never had much luck there. Rivers bend park or Dana's Peak park are much better spots in my opinion.
      I had a ton of fun testing out the googan toads. They are on the fragile side for sure. I haven't tried either of those lures you mentioned but I did try the Stanley Ribbit Frogs that were recommended by several people from the fishing community. Now those hold up very well and had become my new favorite.
      I have never fished in Austin but that will be changing! I will definitely look into Red Bud Isle! Thank you for the recommendation and for your comment 👍

      @@beardzerofishing Starting to get cold here, so I'm living through you guys over the next few months. That seems the biggest difference between the bass and cod, here the fish shutdown in the cold water and are much more active when its hot.

    • @beardzerofishing
      @beardzerofishing  2 года назад

      @@LarrysFishing I almost forget the seasonal differences we have sometimes lol. Bass do actively feed during the heat but they can become hard to find in the Deeper water. They move away from the shallows and hang out in water up to 25ft or so. Since I usually can't see the structures they are hanging out on from the surface it does get difficult for me... never really cared much for using fish finders but I will change that soon 👍
