into Kösem's cup as well. Loosing İskender was the biggest shame in the series... Murad was a great sultan under the given circumstances however the whole course of dinesty would have been different if İskerder took over his well deserved throne.
Poor Iskander. He loved Humasah his loyalty was to Kosem and his country.
Humasha is his sister in this series. He never existed. When he found out who he really was, he became power hungry, like his mother.

The Sulfiye Sultan was for the Ottoman Emperor, but he eventually acted for power and drove his grandson to death. So I can't sympathize with Safiye's death.
Not really. That is not historically accurate. Safiye had no power in the Ottoman court as Mehmed III had ascended the throne at the age of 28. She never poisoned him either. He died of natural causes. There were no signs of poisoning.
I refuse to believe that a Sultana would be buried in a simple grave, and not a family tomb.

This series distorts the real history so much. Safiye NEVER held power in the Ottoman court. She was the wife of Murad III. After Murad died, Mehmed III ascended the throne as an adult.

@@alexpaul5341 Do you realize that she had no political power? The only time the regent would rule from behind closed door is if the sultan was a child. Based on the policies he enacted, the scholar he appointed and such, Murad IV was very clearly in power. Even documents from that era say he was an actual Sultan in power. Meaning that the status of wali al 'amr. Like I said, some people unfortunately take history from dramas.

Rest in peace The great sultana of the sultanas. Saying she did all for the sake of the supreme empire is just a feel good sentence for her own wrong doings.All had their own agendas and motives. But she chose to kill herself else it would have been worst like kosem.Poor kosem or mahpeykar was all good and kind in the beginning but the power tussle made her corrupt and greedy to the extent of scheming the murder for her grandson.For me the most dishonourable and horrible death was kosem's, after ruling the empire for so many years this was the worst to happen to the mighty Valide Sultan.

As the sultanas aged they became obsessed with power. This happened with kosem and safiya but ya'll only call kosem cruel and call safiya elegant while safiya was equally power hungry. She tried to kill ahmed, his two princes (osman and mehmet when they were toddlers) and put mustafa on throne in the start and then she did kill sultan ahmed. Her daughter poisoned sultan and safiya hid it. She has a lot of blood on her hands too.
