I'm pretty lucky to have a lot of Jazz available in Greenville, but I usually don't see Obi Jazz and I've never come across The Third World Byrd album. That's a longtime want. Nice score for the store.
Had to stop looking long enough to wipe the drool from my keyboard.. that is some seriously nice stuff! Wish I was close enough to make a drive, but Louisiana is a bit too far away... Think you will have some very satisfied customers come this Saturday....
Wow you've got some great records there. Phenomenal stuff. Check out Helen Merrill if you haven't already. Excellent singer. She does a great album with the legendary Clifford Brown.
One interesting thing about CTI is that hundreds of these albums were recorded by Rudy van Gelder. It looks like CTI was van Gelder's biggest customer in the 70s and 80s. You've also got a little audiophile jazz in there - I saw a Reference Recordings, a Sheffield, and an Opus 3.
Yo- Check that Pat Metheny/Luke Miles lp you blew-over. See if it’s the Quiex transparent brown w RL in dead wax. Worth $$$. YUP- that Robert/Bob Ludwig
Don't sell that Mingus Wonderland! Thats the coolest version, the amazing abstract rainbow portrait cover is exclusive to that version! Rare and cool....of course the record kicks ass. Astonishing buy man! Sooooo many cool records in this haul ya'll. NB
I live in Greenville NC, I don't think you're physical store is that far from where I am! I'll try to pay someone to give me a ride to check y'all out, when I git the time!
I'm always so impressed with your ability to keep very little out of all these collections you buy brotha! I guess that is kind of key though when owning your own record store, ha ha! Awesome score buddy and ps that flip through back ground music was quite delightful lol
Nice video :). Love ur store. I love collecting Latin records (70s Salsa, Latin Jazz, Boogaloo, Descarga, Latin Funk, Latin Rock). Do you or know anyone who has and is selling in the Charlotte or NC area?
you should at the very least give that Les McCann "Invitation to Openess" a spin. kick back, maybe some headphones, late at night no interruptions. killer space jazz funk groover.
You can’t give jazz away in my area. I inherited a collection, mostly OJC, prestige and verve reissues. One local shop took a chance on some Of the popular titles. I haven’t been around to ask if he sold any.
Was wondering if you've gotten into jazz from Japan at all. Been digging guys like Ryo Fukui and Jiro Inagaki lately and would love to dig even deeper.
Anyway you would sell a few and ship? I am interested in the Coleman Hawkins Soul album and the Mingus Wonderland. I have Blues Bash but was wondering if that’s a better copy, mine is vg and is noisy. That would be great but I know you need things for the locals
CTI gets a bad rap for being too polished sounding. Some Jazz snobs like to say they prefer recordings done by Rudy Van Gelder, but guess who did the CTI stuff..

Noble is for the people!!!
GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT! 🤣
Love Mose Allison. Right on.
That Teri Thornton is killer. Never seen that on vinyl before. Huge voice. If she's done more, would be remembered as one of the greats.
I love Bill Evans’ Verve releases. Intermodulation is my personal favorite.

Pretty killer collection, especially that first batch you showed. Nice, dude!
I’ve got a bunch of those OJC and CTI records that sound pretty good.
Miles Davis Get up with it. His best album. Rated X is an avant garde classic
LOVE that album! just pulled my old copy out a couple weeks ago and got blown away all over again!

Good haul man.
If you would be willing to ship that Keith Jarrett stuff on ECM if it doesn't walk out the door after a while I would be very happy to grab them!

That’s nuts. It does really well here!

Do you ever get any rare afro cuban jazz, like Cachao, kakao,The Alegre all Stars, Tico all stars,Art blakey holiday for skins, Subu Martinez

If you moved your record shop to Sweden I would be broke.
You got some nice ones! Too bad you can't keep them all!
I mean, I suppose I could 🤣
You cannot have enough jazz. The rabbit hole is long and very twisty.
Nick Bitten and fun to go down
