I just realized it’s not just a texture change, it’s an entirely new door. The original door sinks into the ground, but this one rises into the ceiling!
Coincidentally, that porch with the figure peeking through the window and the red teleporter across from the garage are also the only places on the map I know about that you can use to go to the backrooms without noclipping. They both seem to require a Quake-style rocket jump to get to, so it's not trivial. Maybe the author had some sort of Easter Egg planned for this and bailed on it.
Yeah, there's a few other things they bailed on too. In the daycare portion, there were supposed to be cracks that opened up in the floor of the kitchen. Either that, or they were supposed to be textures for the pot of soup on the stove spilling.
@@aubreyjarvis4759 Considering we have access to the exact same map editor tools as the author, it wouldn't take long to figure out how something works once we know where it is.
@@skraegorn7317 Another thing that I think was scrapped was the fact that you were originally able to go up to the attic again during the house fire section and the overgrown house, as I found these versions of the attic when lookin thru the house in Doom Builder
@@skraegorn7317super late to this but the RUclipsr who said that didn't take that close of a look at it. It was just used to put a blood effect on the floor without having it tiled on the whole thing.
I'm guessing this is just an artifact from copying-pasting other versions of the house rather than rebuilding the entire layout from scratch every time. Another example of this is that the airport actually has a copy of the big brutalist house's garage walled off next to it where the house's garage normally would be, implying that the airport is actually a modified copy of that enlarged version of the house.
this might be more of a mapping issue rather than a bug, since i assume this is due to that door triggering the tag that toggles that door. In doom mapping things are toggled by tags which are useful when you want a button to activate multiple things at once. This is a great showcase of a situation where doors are their own activator. I assume at one point that door was pasted from its previous location, but not removed of its activation. The concrete door, however, is still set to respond to the same tag. Both doors pasted from the same original door, one was removed of its activation, the other was removed of its response/function.
something seems strange about this video for one, it's the first upload in years on this channel two, it shows a secret found by doing some noclipping, either cut content or tampered gameplay very weird
i think they just finally had an idea of something to upload after a while since they discovered something, all their old stuff was just sonic from 12 years ago so i dont see anything suspicious its fun to think the author put around bread crumbs but i don't know why...or even how it would go this far back
I spent at least five hours today looking for brand new things, now i just feel really weird.....this is cool, cheers to those who find new stuff...this is an amazing map.
wake up babe new door just dropped
woo

There is no doubt in my mind there are many easter eggs and hidden secrets still left in this game nobody has found yet
i was so determined to find one in the dark maze, came out empty handed lol
if a year after the release of elden ring people still found new things imagine with this that came out a few months ago
Well the map has been decompiled and analyzed to death already so maybe put some doubt in your mind about new things being found.
Love the profile pic! Dead Rising doesn't get enough recognition nowadays.
not really. most people in the doom community have doom coding knowledge, so just gotta look inside

I've never been so excited about a door

Wow! Amazing how it didnt get discovered already
The dude that found this earlier and didn't post it on youtube is sad rn
Huh. Thought I'd seen everything in this wad. I love brown door👍

Years? You mean over a decade?
Hah I just mostly upload to other channels rather than this old one
12 year gap is pretty impressive
Ur last vid was 12 years ago damn
Time to look for clues in his old videos. The rabbit hole goes deeper still? :o
Veddge-level dormancy

Duende magic once again
Sick!
But what does this mean lol
Cut content?
Nothing.
This guy made a totally unique game with new mechanics within Doom, there's going to be some spaghetti code fuckery happening
@@PinkMonkeyBird or just another act of gaslighting this map has to offer.
door
what the kind of point-and-click adventure game bullshit us this
It's literally the original Doom game with a custom level?
@Tyler Pixel I know, but the linedef trigger for door being in the area that scared the shit outa me is some adventure game stuff
USE BANANA WITH METRONOME
Put gem in mouth
no way
LOL
most people who play it have a doom coding knowledge, so you didn't find anything they didn't
Boooooooring
