- December 3, 2022, Bernese Mountain Dog Parade Breckenridge, Colorado. For those in attendance, this is also known as "THE BEST DAY EVER"!!!
The Bernese Mountain Dogs became part of the celebration because of an 8-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog named "Clyde" (RIP).
Clyde had never been socialized in his 8 years. His new guardians tried to come up with creative ways to socialize him. They asked the Breckenridge Resort Chamber if Clyde and a few of his closest Bernese Mountain Dog friends could join the Lighting of Breckenridge parade. Participation and enthusiasm for the Berners have grown ever since. Clyde’s spirit lives on in the excitement of this event.

Bernese Mountain Dogs are the best.
It breaks my heart that Berners have such short lives- one of the sweetest of the “heartbreak”breeds! Eight or nine years is too short a lifespan!
I was lucky to have my Berner close to 11 years. We knew we wouldn't have him long, but we loved him and he loved us every second. He was the best boy! 💙

Here in Central Texas, you will never see a parade of healthy Dogs, Dogs that have been to a Vet or have training enough to be so well behaved as these fine Dogs. My neighbors think I'm "upity" because I take my Great Pyrenees Dog to be groomed, my mutt to have shots and my 2 Cats to be spayed. Still, we should never stop trying to educate people , even if I need to pay for Bravecto for their Dogs to keep my treated yard Flea free.
Thank you so much for this happy video- there is hope for all Dogs (and the scraggly Possum that shares my garage with 2 stray Cats, and the hundreds of beautiful Birds that I feed and water-lol ).

Love it!!! I have a Berner and he is so sweet and loving. My Caviler is sweet as well. They love to rough house. Both dogs play with my cat Jazzman. So cool.

Question, I recently got a Berner puppy- but she's dumb as a rock, I heard their breed was very intelligent. Are they usually not very bright when puppies?
@@Mikoyo349 well how old is your puppy? They are very smart and very affectionate. If you’re training your puppy use treats and be patient with her. I took Murphy 7 months old to training and treats worked. It took Murphy 8 times to learn to give me paw with treats until he finally got it. Good luck.
@@Mikoyo349 hi, your puppy grows at a slower rate than average dogs. Consider it mentally half the age it is. My puppy is 6 months and she gets her leash and my cavies leash. She also told me the butter was burning on the stove. Socialization is key and all kinds of experiences. Congratulations on getting your little treasure.♥️

We do a leonberger parade (that's "my" breed) every year a few weeks before chrismas but we are not that many, usually around 15 dogs.
I have raised Great Pyrenees for years but would LOVE to have a Leonberger, Hard to find here in central Florida.
@@karenthesheepgirl1909 I understand that Leos aare less common in the US than here in Eruope, though they are a rare breed here too. Have you tried the Leonberger Club of America, they list all the US breeders I believe.

Well, first god made the bestest species in the world, the dog. then he made the bestes doggos in the world; the holy trinity of Leonberger, Bernese mountaindogs and Newfoundland/Landseer. 🥰🤣

PLEASE DON'T WALK DOGS IF THE WEATHER IS TOO COLD OR HOT ESPECIALLY IF THEY DON'T ALWAYS HAVE SHOES ON AND SINCE THEIR FUR TYPES DID DO AND WILL VARY
