Chris Panton Yeah sucks doesn't it? So to be safe, can we adb boot twrp and backup that way? I'm not sure if that will backup the stock recovery properly? I've been hesitant to screw around with it since our stock files are still MIA. On xda, there is a post about rooting without compromising the ability to take ota, maybe you can look into that also

After restoring twrp back it fail on fv modem restore part with 225 error and i again restore by skipping that part and that got successful.but when i turn on my device it work for some time and then restart and there is no IMEI Number also so cant use my sim too and all Google apps are removed.And also after installing this rom the device keep restating after few minute and its not showing IMEI number too.So please help

And no you don't have to update EMUI to 8 before flashing a rom. Only a certain ROM requires you are running EMUI 8 Android 8 before flashing his system.img (I think RR was the rom)

I used to always jb my iphones and ipods and it was 100% worth the work but i really don't want to brick this new phone just bc of my lack of knowledge or cause worse damage so some help would be a miracle if you don't mind. JOHN JAE use the TWRP_11.img from invisblek's site. Basically go to his LOS thread, click the link to his site, and delete everything after /blahblahblah. Then find twrp_11 and flash that. TWRP isn't persistent BTW. You'll need to flash after every reboot.

Shyamal Bhatt I saw the videos he did for that phone, trust me it went over my head too. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone not that familiar with doing it and has it as their daily driver. Apparently mistakes sometimes happen even with the most knowledgeable. Luckily it seems like they can be undone. I have several phones now and no longer use the Lenovo Zuk Z2 as my daily driver. I'd actually be willing to try it now, but unfortunately I no longer have internet access. 😥
