We are Eleise and Lawrence & Nyh - A young family from the south of England. Like many people the pandemic gave us a shake up! While watching hours of Mark Weins in Thailand - We had our “Ah ha” Moment. We decided we wanted to travel.
Enjoying working for ourselves, we didn’t want to give up our business and decided it was entirely possible for us to do both. So we set about making it our lifestyle to work in the UK for a month, and then travel for a month - month on, month off…. until our little boy Nyh goes to school! We want to inspire people that you don’t have to up-sticks, sell all your belongings and leave behind family to be able to see the world.
    Our Philosophy. Work, Travel, Repeat.

Mangoes and water melons are imported during certain periods especially during the winter season. They are very expensive around 3 euros or more per mango and around 10 euros for a water melon.

Nothing quite like finding a place that could easily feel like home.

The prayer place at Ganga Talao is the main prayer place for Hinduism in Mauritius. People go there usually on Sundays for prayers but there's always some prayer or festival where people go there for. The main festival is during Maha Shivratree where all Hindus all over the island converge to Ganga Talao to collect the water for their prayers. It's packed full of people and festivities.
The stone structures you see usually around the coastal villages were used long ago for lime production. Limestone (corals and reefs) were burnt with the filaos trees to produce lime for construction and paint. Speaking of stone structures there were some unique looking pyramids in the Rose Belle area. Some were pretty big and interesting.

The dome by the beach is a limekiln. I don't buy watermelon. Not a fan but mango tree in the garden for pickles when green then juicy when ripe

13:20 - it's commonly coined the Mauritian Papyrus tree (probably Melaleuca quinquenervia)

Very nice. The reason why it’s cooler is because of the elevation and distance from the sea. The sea regulates the temperature inland and that’s why the coast stays warmer pretty much all year round.

We no longer catch many fish because of over fishing inside the lagoons. Most of the catches are for the restaurants and hotels.

this look to me that you are at the tamarin falls viewpoint in henrietta, and on the island of mauritius there is no poisonous snakes or spiders. then that the black river gorges viewpoint and after that the alexandra falls viewpoint and those trees are paperbark trees and they a protected species. the two last craters of volcanoes, one is grand bassin ; which is completely filled with water and is a sacred place for the hindus, and the other is trou aux cerfs which is right in the middle of the island in the central plateau. and lastly those ancient stone structures found on the beach are lime kilns,

Do visit ISKCON Temples around the Island. We have a Vedic Farm Temple in Bon Acceuil Village. You could go on a Sunday morning as from 7am or any other day of the week. You can take audience of the Deities at 4.30am, 7am,12.30pm, 16.30pm, 19pm and 21.00pm.
We have another Temple at Phoenix - ISKCON Phoenix - it can be reached easily via the metro - the visiting hours are similar and it has a pure vegetarian restaurant also.
