Thanks for sharing, I'm just a regular chick trying to get one of these that look like blythe; I think they so cute! But I'm not gonna spend so much on an original. That's way too much.
Thank you for all the information provided in this and all your videos. I am new to the Blythe dolls and will start practicing with an icy doll and getting supplies from you.
I strongly believe you should go with your guts here. There isn't a OOAK artist behind the making of these dolls, so the choice you make is very personal. Not disrespectful. Then, you can make it unique by customizing it and, Blythe or Icy, the doll becomes very special to the owner/artist.
Really helpful, thank you! I am struggling to get some hard resin chips in my Icy custom (one seated after a lot of pressure but wow do my thumbs hurt!). Thought it was just me XD Also, just bought some skull eye chips from you for my Daunting Drusilla the other day. :D
I love your videos! There is a wooden tool to measure eye sockets for dolls. You can put very fine sandpaper on it, to sand away the socket to have the eye fit better. I suggest a practice head to try out first.
Angela is one of the names of the original 1972 Blythe dolls. There were a bunch of different names dolls in the Blythe run, with different hair and different names.
Hey girl I came across you video today after ordering some eye chips from a seller on etsy I honestly didnt know there was a difference in their eye size and I dont think they have any 13.5mm chips 😭 cost me allot is there anything I can do with the 14mm? File them down or something to fit? I'm new to it and dont want to mess it up
Yes if they are glass or plastic you should be able to sand them...if they are soft resin you can trim them. The big issue is just not messing them up by sanding or trimming too much on one side. You may wait and see how they fit when they arrive. It truly is a pretty slight difference and you may be able to get them in. The other options is to enlarge the Icy chip hole. Again though it is sanding and being careful not to enlarge too much on one part. However it would be less work than changing on the chips and risking ruining them. ;)
Hi! I tried doing my own research on this, but are the fake dolls the only tan/brown skin dolls? I don’t see too many official dolls that are already brown/black.
Yes if you want darker skin tones the only options are fakes. There are some tan authentic dolls but it's a pretty light tan. That is one of the big issues with authentics...many feel they do not offer a wide range of representation.
I've been having a hard time finding parts info on Icy dolls. I'm trying to get a scalp for my Icy but I don't know which color skin tone matches Icy. I know Blythe has different skin tones, but I think Icy only comes in 1 color. Would you happen to know which color skin tone best matches Icy's skin?
Hi there! I haven't seen enough Icys to say for sure but I think you are right they are mostly one tone. It's hard though because it is kind of in the middle but if I had to choose I would go with a white/pink Blythe scalp...not the natural. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching.
Could you, please tell me where I can buy Authentic Icy Dolls from? I love them but I know that the fakes & clones often say their doll is an Icy and yet it doesn’t have the Icy Made In China stamp on the back of the head
Hello, I bought my Blythe's doll from "This is Blythe" and the doll came with pierced ears. So is this a fake, as This is Blythe states otherwise, many thanks
Hi there...pierced ears doesn't mean it is a fake. There are some authentic dolls with pierced ears. However if you purchased the doll from This is Blythe then it is a fake. Be weary of them as they are known to be scammers in the Blythe community. They are not respected because they steal artists photos and pretend to be selling the dolls when they are not. I've also heard of people not receiving what they purchased.
Thanks for the video. I bought an Icy to customize. I love your videos they are really helpful.
Awesome! Thanks for watching
Thank you. 🙏 You are very clear in your instruction. And your patience inspires one to try patience as well.

thank you so much for the informative video on the differences between the dolls, simple for beginners which is good.

I ordered an icy from alixpress without the shine in the face she has green hair with a matte face
Is that good or bad
@@BirdLady2782 It depends on what you like

I prefer the icy doll better. I think it’s cuter

So I am not sure where the ICY comes from. Angela dolls are made by Le Petit Tom. They are called Dolly but the name is Angela. Hope this helps.
How do you get icy heads to fit snuggly on a body
Thank you for this
I'm just starting to get my first Blythe but thanks to your vid, I think I may have accidentally bought an icy
Thank you! Great video!

do Icy's knees bend?
No the original bodies that they come on don't bend. ;)

I bought one from " This is blythe", too. $200 more. I think it is a fake....😂
Is icy doll factory doll ? Do AliExpress sell both ? Can you carve AliExpress dolls ?
Love your work
Yes I believe so, she just explained on her video that the plastic is thin on icy dolls and you should be careful not to carve too much off the lips.
Where do you sell your dolls please ? 💖
This is my shop: www.etsy.com/shop/BeBeBlytheCo?ref=seller-platform-mcnav I'll be restocking Icy dolls very soon, they are on their way!
Are the Icy eye mechs the same as blythes?
Icy doll or Britney and Brifney from littlest pet shop ( where Blythe come from also XD ) it my theory tbh!
Angela is for angel .
Going to make her a little black fox
Thank you I always thought that icy dolls are fakes and they do look chubbier
