How many times do you spray the mr super clear on the Blythe I did 7 and my pastels don’t stick easily 😞 any tips you can give me that can help me solve my problem!☹️
rachelsour97 I just spray it once before applying first layer of pastels. Then when I like a layer of pastels, I spray if I’d want to keep that layer, so I can layer more on top without messing with it. Pastels can easily be removed until they’re sealed with more spray. Also, the higher quality pastels have more pigment concentration so you get more color out of them, so I’m not sure if that issue applies to your case. Try working in thin layers. Spray, do pastels, spray, layer more pastels on top, spray, and keep going u til you’re satisfied with the colors.
Ela Ilene Tell thank you so much !I’ve seen people layer pastels while the Blythe looks wet I’m guessing thats what they do ! Thank you so much I was stressing now I feel confident ! 🥰
rachelsour97 good luck!! It’s fun! Just a word of advice though - make sure the spray is well dried before applying the pastels, otherwise you’ll get a gooey mess
Hi I'm a new subscriber i thank you for showing us some tips on blythe doll make overs, it looks like alot of fun especially doing the eye painting and doing her any way you want. Love it 😀
I know if too much asking it will be nice if you will put the list of all the things you used so we can check on amazon. But thank you very much for your video I'm new into this doll journal thank you
Hello Eli, first thanks for this amazing tutorial. I wanted to know where did you got this beautiful factory doll? Please let me know, maybe you can put a link from the shop. thanks again and stay safe ;-)
I’ve been looking around and have found dolls like this on amazon!! Look up neo Blythe dolls on the website or app. You might have to click on other dolls before finding one like this, but they’re def on there!!
I bought a neo Blythe off eBay, it just takes a few months to get but it came with 12 different hands, and a dress. I’m obsessed with her, though i did order a matte face but got a shiney face doll, I don’t mind.
After you’re done carving and you spray the first layer of MSC , How long do you wait to start painting? Do I have to let it dry or can I paint right away? I am doing my first doll soon. I just want to make sure I do it right 😊
Once you’re done carving and sanding, spray with MSC and wait for it to dry thoroughly. Do Not paint while wet, it’ll make a huge mess. If the air is dry, it’ll dry in a few minutes. If it’s more humid out, it could take much longer, maybe 20 min.
I was watching another youtuber who uses watercolor pencils for his faceups on various dolls. He said he uses watercolor pencils because regular pencils are too waxy. But I see you use prismacolors. I already have a lot of prismacolors & was wondering if they'll be ok to use. It would be my first time doing a custom blythe.
Hi, I also do scrapbook and I want to say - I did use Glossy A. and Diamond Glaze on the papercard as rain drops on flowers and both went yellow on daylight after less than a year...😕
Thanks for the tutorial, was very useful for me. 🌷
Judit Morris thanks for watching, so glad it was useful!

This comment is from 3 months ago but the reason might be because of your weather. The weater and air has to be dry so it could dry properly.
Change your pastel quality and make sure.they are soft pastels and not oil based

Thank you for this video! There's an alternative to the sealing spray?
Not sure! You could try different sealers that are sprays and see if any are as good as this one

Would Jack Richeson Soft Pastels work for the face up?
This isn't a tutorial, its a list of materials.
I have other videos where I show some of the carving process

What's the size of the print??
For the eyes? I purchased it on Etsy so it was sized specifically for Blythe, not 100% sure but I think they share measurements online
