Rotating disc electrode (RDE) preparation and testing

This series of videos is tailored for undergraduate students who want a brief overview of how researchers test new electrochemical technologies at the laboratory scale. In this video, researcher Silvia Favero, at Imperial College London, will show how we test novel electrocatalysts using a three-electrode set-up, featuring a rotating disc electrode. Thanks to its ease of use, this set-up is the first stage in the screening of novel electrocatalysts, for a range of electrochemical reactions, including oxygen evolution, oxygen reduction, CO2 reduction and biomass oxidation.
