Honestly, since getting my hands and fingers tattooed to finish my sleeves, I feel slightly less depersonalization. Because I can see the tattoos and know I got them so I must be real. It's kind of weird.

I relate this feeling to LSD/Psilocybin. I used to smoke weed every day, functioning pothead. Never had this type of feeling until one day I was high at work and everything went numb. Everything in front of me was an illusion, a simulation.. I thought i was laced with LSD haha, then i started feeling this sober. I quit smoking weed , nicotine, and drinking for more than 3 months now. I still feel unreal sometimes , its scary. I pray to God , work out , and it helps a lot. Your soul will come back for a while. But the symptoms never go away. I guess its something you live with, like if you are aware of it forever.

@@rachelslumped3302 Ive went to the ER twice thinking i was dying or I was dead, then that hospital bill really hit harder than death I guess haha. Im a manager now so I suppress these feelings immediately by telling myself to just breathe, lock in, and to look after my workers because they need me , or else the company crashes. Creating responsibility, and gaining purpose, and goals back locks you back in. Sleep good while you can. Ever since i only get these symptoms when i get home from work and im trying to sleep, or having a stressful shift. My symptoms are slowly fading away. @Cool-i-guess 5 месяцев назад +1

@@aneeshkumar9704 That's great! And yes, this morning right when I stepped out of my dad's house, into the hallway (it's an apartment), I felt way way way more detached. I've been doing way better, and I felt horrible. When we got outside I felt like I was gonna pass out, and I kept having to close my eyes. I was walking right up near the cars, because for me, at least, having objects closer to my sides, (like sitting next to a wall in a building) helps a lot with dpdr, (ig it makes me feel more real, since there's a real object next to me.) So yeah, it feels really weird. The only part that really gets to me anymore is the feeling of unreality, and the feeling that I'm fake. Don't get me wrong, everything else that comes with dpdr still affects me, but this feeling really gets me. Knowing that other people are dealing with this makes me feel so much better though. And trying to get rid of this is very weird. You have to really minimize how much you think of it, and you have to accept it. It's super weird, and very hard for me at least. It's not like you can just try as hard as you can to get rid of it, you just gotta feel with it. Anyways, today was definitely my worst day in a while, because of the detachment of outside. I hope we can make it through this! Try not to think about it, if you are, then don't judge it, act like it's your bestie, and be like, "Yeah, you are gonna ruin my day today! Good job buddy!" A few days ago in class, I was taking state-wide testing and I was focused onto the test, then I saw some weird visual whatever's over in front of me, and I acted like I was in a live stream. I said, "I'm just doing my test, dp's doing his own thing over there." It helps so much! If you want, we could try and connect over discord, or whatever you have, and maybe talk in dm's or something like that, we could give each other moral support ig, talk therapy, is the only known way to really help dpdr!

      Hppd since autumn 2010..
Lately I have been wondering if it could be a metabolic problem of your brain not getting enough energy.
I experience alot of fatigue, unable to do heavy work like I used to without symptoms getting worse. Sometimes I ger tingeling in hands and feet. If I eat alot of sugar I will get more like migraine feeling, headache and light sensitivity.
I hear ketogenic diets can be beneficial for mental health and slow down an over active brain.
I hear about people treating anxiety, bipolar etc on a carnivore diet.
But I have never heard anyone mentioning do/dr, hppd or visual snow syndrome in that context.
I started to eat almost carnivore since a couple of days. Meat, eggs, butter and pickled veggies and a few blueberries because they are in season and abundant in the forest right now.
I will give it at least a month to see if anything improves.

This is a really good representation. I used to have DPDR, now I'm with medication and it is gone
Even, though...sounds strange, but I want it back, I don't want those pills anymore...
    Does anybody feel the same?

Hey everyone, I'm proud to say that not only does this get better, but it can also eventually go away too. In 2021 I was extremely depressed and having several panic attacks daily, which sent me into almost constant derealization. I ended up checking myself into the ER cause uh... I wanted to unalive myself shall we say. During my recovery (which I did with the help of my family) I made this list of all the videos that helped me since I couldn't find much Info on it. I know it's terrifying and extremely unsettling but you'll heal too. Be kind to yourself and remember that you're not crazy, you're just hurting. Love you guys!!

I just got a mild derealization experience
I dont do any drugs , also i have mild ocd ,i am somehow managing myself
Yesterday something strange happened i thought i do not belong to this world and felt like this world is a dream but went away after 1 hour i was so scared
But now i am ok like previously my anxiety was 18/20 and now like 4.5/20

@@nishchal_yt7750 I totally get that. I have ocd too, pretty severe at times unfortunately. It is nottttt good when you combine dpdr with rumination 😳

@@skye3830it’s my firm belief, that people who get trapped on the cycle of DPDR have existential OCD as a result of their initial experience. This keeps them perpetually trapped in their fear response, due to the fear they have around their own fear response (the DPDR). That’s why it’s absolutely essential to “get used” to the sensations, so they no longer cause you fear, thus allowing your body to recover.

For me I feel lightheaded and a tiny bit dizzy. I feel like I'm not real and I'm 'spectating myself' I am really confused afterwards and I always look at my surroundings. I dont know if this is also because of derealisation but I remember I literally 'shut down' for half a second broke a cup I was holding. I literally blacked out and I'm not sure what it was.

I might be the only one to say this but personally it’s kinda cool, then again I’m now suspecting I’ve had it for well over a decade now that I’m properly looking up on it. The main and only real reason I say It’s kinda cool is because it feels like the reality you’ve known all your life is now different the way you see, feel, smell ect is altered which to me personally it’s really interesting so I’m not really scared of it
