Don't think this ending should count towards an Any% speedrun? What if I told you that the developers consider this a legitimate ending to the game? If the legend Leonard Boyarsky thinks it's a legit ending, so should you.

Honestly I really enjoy the fact that this doesn't use an insane amount of crazy glitches to speedrun like a lot of other games, I feel like this could be a good game for people who are looking to get into speedrunning, it's fun, it's easy to understand and a great speedrun for beginners and if later down the line someone discovers a new strat, we can still use these types of runs for the glitchless catagory.
I think it's interesting, but the glitch that allows you to get into the chairman's office breaks the narrative quite a bit. You won't see the effects here, but you're not supposed to get in there this early in the game; it triggers some quests that can't reasonably be active in parallel with current quests. For instance, using this glitch, I was able to complete quests for Sophia Akande in Byzantium while she was held prisoner on Tartatus by Phineas. I know you're just talking about speedrunning, but it certainly isn't a minor glitch in terms of the implications. It should be patched.
I mean I only have 20 hours in the game and almost did the speedrun well since it doesnt require any skills really

Great run. This is definitely my favourite game this year. Bypassing Monarch definitely took a lot of time off these speed runs.

@@ikon7132 You need Pickpocket unlocked and Akande's nav key from Udom on Groundbreaker, which he gives after you retrieve his seal from Gladys' safe. In the HHC on Byzantium, do a pickpocket attempt while facing Percival, then run past the minster's door. When Percival confronts you, he'll open that door, allowing access to the chairman's terminal to print an access card for the Ministry of Accuracy. You may have to practice a bit so do a quick save before attempting the pickpocket. This completely bypasses Radio Free Monarch and the subsequent quest to visit the minster in his home.

I tried to do this same run, but when I got to the part about the corrupted signal, it glitched. Ada never gave me a notification, and I never got to talk about the chemicals I stole.

If anyone still tries to get the supernova difficulty trophy, I recommend a new save. I followed this video to the letter, and then put on the Tartarus video in the comments to finish it up. I watched the Tartarus video and followed everything you did and got all the way until the end and because I wasn’t level 50 in engineering (because I needed 70 points to lie, to dock in Tartarus) akonde triggered the killer robot and obviously I had no chance.
I can't even get the part where you steal from gladys's safe to work.
You have to up your lock pick skill, he doesnt show it in the vid but you do if its not working you should have plenty of points to up your skill, just keep upping it by 5 until it only takes 1s for it to open

While it’s neat that all the speed runs end up going through the sun, it’d be even cooler to see how people tackle Tartarus in their strats.
I've done 2 runs that go through Tartarus so far, one is a pacifist challenge run on supernova while the other is an Any% run that sides with Phineas Welles instead of skipping the Hope into the sun.

Nothing special, you just force him to the door, and quickly close the dialog, and for some reason, it forces the door to open.
@@Blackwolf-ud5je I think the game thinks you're clipping into the next room, so the door opens as Percival tries to give chase
When you jump on the table you can pick pocket him, you do it for a second then go backwards towards the door, as soon as he gives chase go to the door and click it to open, if you have done it right when he approaches you the door will open.

How do they get into the office at 9:30? I tried pickpocketing the secretary but found nothing of use
Try pickpocketing him as far as away while your standing on the desk, and as soon as he notices sprint to the keycard door and when he runs by it he will unlock it

Not supernova. Broken leg in lab has healed by yourself. At supernova broken leg healing only when sleep on your ship

Could you do a speed run again on supernova mode and do it to the end not with the sun ending the way it should end the easy way too if poss, and before the start show what perk and point you put in at the start of the game too.

@@TheLildollar ARE U KIDDING. I just... well I started yesterday got to where gladys was and realised I didn't set my attributes out correctly, so they killed me before I got into her safe. Started again today, and kept getting stuck on that stupid power factory thing again. because my sense of direction is so so so bad, and those stupid robots and flying robots kept blocking my way.
And now it was all for nothing, r u kidding. I've not put that much time into it, but I'm emotionally invested.
Worst thing is I'll for sure continue, get frustrated. And probably break my controller in the process.

Aloze the game in supernova its actually easy, Now in the last mission prepare to cry cuz its so hard to beat it. Level up the resistance to energy weapons and the ddt. And level to max the long range weapons good luck
@@TheLildollar What you should do is get a Plasma Rifle (with a electric mod) Time Dialation/full charge shot to the arm it's shooting out of will allow you to to stun it if you use it right, allowing for extra damage, rinse and repeat.

@@morpheusx17 all I did (after trying for like half an hour) was put 2 into stealth so it equaled 2 for the safe and took the drink
All the uncertainty about whether or not you get the supernova trophy or not well I'm about to find out.
Edit: Nope no supernova trophy, sorry but it looks like all of us who want the cheap easy out for this just have to beat the game.
Is this considered a glitchless run?
Personally I would consider it a glitchless run. I consider ai manipulation (what I do with Percival) as an exploit, which to me is not a glitch but rather clever use of in game mechanics. So if you consider an exploit a glitch then you may think this is a glitched run.
@@SharoSpeedruns while I dont think it matters either way, I would consider using the AI path mapping to cause him to open the door would 100% be an exploit. He only opens it thinking you are on the other side. Any case, followed your run and did it in about 20 with a few hiccups. Sadly this doesnt actually count as a completed game, so no achievement will unlock
@@GiftedTucker are you sure this doesn't count as a completed game for achievements? I tried it but had an issue where after stealing the chemicals, sophia didn't contact me on my ship and I couldn't get to the hope
ignore my idiocy. I forgot to grab the jar of chemicals after I transfer it on byzantium.
@@mikes7045 Yeah if you are hoping to get your Super Nova achievement from this you sadly wont, you will have to finish the rest of the normal campaign. Depending on how you specced your character you can beat it passively and wont have to play for more than 2-3 hours. I beat it with Charm and Temperment being 7 I think, then 80 Lie and 80 Hack.
How the fuck do you go from phineas lab to hope? I followed this guide to the tee but after phineas I have no option for hope? Fuck this game

Can't believe how dumb this game is.... I am at phineas lab and i am out of water and hydrophobic. there is no water source on the ship and phineas lab. I cant fast travel while hydrophobic. all saves are at phineas lab. I am totally stuck at phineas lab.

What the fuck? That thing you steal at 1030 does rucking nothing. I get shot every time. This play through is bullshit. I've been following this to the letter for fucking hours and every time I get to the elevator I am shot. I can't even sneak through and the disguise doesn't even register.
