There are elementary school pictures of Ten and from the basketball team and it names him Ten. His sister's name is also a nickname. Lisa is also a shortening of Lalisa. Their full names are long! So Ten's his name SM didn't choose it :)

But Ten himself learnt English as a child, he knows Ten is 10 and he loves making plays with his name. he's an artist and he always incorporates 10s and all that in his art. He created a name for his fans: it's 10velys (read as lovely, 10 stands for lo) He does it all the time and uses it creatively. I think he loves his name and he loves to play with it. So in a way you are right that he uses it artistically! :)

You maybe can see Kai's doing like pantomime, Ballet Jazz Contemporary (His speciality) and he always dance like a story teller (Historical dance). As far as I know, Kai means open. Chen said once in a variety show that Lee Soo Man ( SM’s founder ) gave their stage names and he mentioned that Lee Soo Man gave Jongin the stage name Kai so if you will watch EXO ‘s videos, Kai always appears first because his name is associated with ‘Open’. And in “Overdose” MV it is clearly seen that Kai appears in the opening and closing of it. And EXO’s members Baekhyun and Kai have shown their superpowers in their Super M individual teasers so I remembered the ‘open’ thingy associated to Kai. You are allowed to correct me if I’m wrong.

I think Taemin's three colors (green, blue, red) represent different aspects: blue is the past, green is the present but also the dream/nightmare, red is the future/other dimension. NCT is usually black on black or black and white because of doubleness and duality. In Taemin's trailer, you see him in red and green when he's monitoring and invoking the others, and blue when we see the "dead" Taemin's and the memory of the umbrella. And here, his switch to Kai has blue hues for their history together. Kai starts in black and white (remember he teleports and he's usually the link between worlds in EXO theories). Kai's "Door" performance is also a journey. He starts from the past (blue), becomes sharp in the green, and he finishes in the red. He's gone through the dream and come out on the other side (he seems to lose a piece of clothing when he travels, remember his trailer). That's just my idea. (And fans receive their official fandom name from the group itself after the debut, so not yet.)

Actually Kai isn't the only one in a different room. Ten started out in the first room with the window wall behind him. then taemin came over in the same room and started dancing. but he dances in 2 locations. the same one as ten, and another empty dark room (sometimes with the red lights). in this room, kai comes over and then kai starts dancing in the empty room except now all the lights are on and it's bright (and white).
I Kai is the best dancer in kpop if we base the votes came from the kpop artist and kpop dancers choreographers. Taemin in the second spot followed by Ten.

We call this 'SM Flexing.' They are a company known for having the best vocals in Kpop generation after generation. This is them going, 'Hey, we have the best dancers, too. Don't forget it.' Perhaps there is more to it, but that's what I got from this particular video.

Loved the uniqueness of Kai’s performance. It was so different and enthralling. So much body control and finesse there. I was so drawn to his emotions too. When he was struggling with various feelings, I could feel the same struggle. And Yes, Kai is definitely telling a story with his performance. It’s called Door. He has explained the concept in detail in one of his live Instagrams. I think they are probably in three different mental status- Ten keeps spelling and announcing his name with his voice and his body represents the reality, where the true self exists. Taemin actually performed in Two different locations- one is the same as Ten's, the other looks a lot more dreamy. And he keeps mentioning dream. So I would assume that Taemin gets into the second level- dream. Kai gets into the third level-dream in a dream(where everything becomes possible-quote NCT Mentary). The way he opens an invisible door can prove that. The way he dances is more conflicted and with more struggle, maybe it shows that he is on another spiritual level.
Interesting! I didn't think of it that way, but it makes sense. I was thinking that Taemin is controlling them to some extent. This kind of ties in to the individual trailers and how it looks like Taemin is manipulating events for all of the other members. In the performance video, he performs in the middle, bridging the gap between Ten and Kai. He is present in both "locations" - in the big space that Ten is in, and the room that Kai is in (although his version is lit up by red lighting for both areas, which just adds to the ominous feeling). That makes me think that he is the one who "created" those dream areas that Ten and Kai are dancing in. The song he dances to specifically mentions "dreams take over" and "are we dreaming?". His movements while dancing seem to me to echo the movements someone who is controlling a marionette would make, like there are strings that he is manipulating. I don't know. There is definitely an air of Taemin being in control of things or manipulating dreams/reality between this video and the trailers. But he does also look like *he* is the one being possessed by the dreams. So I'm just guessing at this point. 😆

Ten: he brings so much power in such sharp moves Taemin: with such an ungodly amount of control over his body, he is able to make such small movements seem ENORMOUS Kai: he is so fluid, and he always brings so much emotion into his dance Put all three together and they create ART.

Okay I tried to find this comment, but didn't see it around, so... Taemin, Kai, and Ten are all a part of an SM unit/group called SM The Performance. (Other members are SHINee Minho, EXO Lay, Super Junior Donghae & Eunhyuk, and TVXQ U-Know.) This group has been around, dancing on special programming, doing stages in SM Town concerts, and making Station mvs, since 2012. Ten is the only non-original member, and he joined in 2017. THAT's why these three have an extra performace video... and you're right, no one is reacting to it, because unless you've been following kpop for a while (and a bit obsessively lol) you wouldn't know about it necessarily (that's fine, too! Love to all the newer kpop fans!!)
PS - a lot of people also don't know that Ten's "Dream in a Dream" was actually his debut in this group, and was promoted as a group song! Of course, since it was on Empathy, it's thought of as his solo (which it is) and an NCT 2018 piece (sort of). SM doesn't make life easy for us, huh? XD

I don’t think people understand that this video is to showcase SM’s best dancers in their entire company. In fact dancers they believe to be the best in the entire industry, and many fans would agree. And they are even making the video out to be a “duel” or a “dance-off” between the three. That’s the reason there won’t be a video of the other four. This is a performance video to showcase their best dancers. I also think that there won’t be much in this that will be tied to the future music video, if there is it’ll probably be very minuscule. A video that will showcase what will be in their future music video would be the Jopping teaser (I think that’s how it’s spelled. But again this is what I believe the purpose of this video is. I could be wrong.

This video was probably to introduce the super M group and it’s members and showcase their talents. All the more reason to do so since super m were to debut in the US where kpop or the kpop idols weren’t as popular.
Also, there's no official fan name uet for SuperM fans. Although in Lysn, there is a channel called 'SuperM Supporters'. They are actually looking for leaders/volunteers who are US residents. Maybe you're interested. :)
How I wish you would enjoy this video and their performance more, instead of overthinking why they did that and this, and why only those three who were featured in performance video. I don’t know if you’re aware, but SM always releases performance videos for some of their artists. Taemin’s Drip Drop and NCT’s Black on Black are two examples of performance videos SM released.

Lori로리 taemin and baekhyun are about the same height. taemin wears insoles at times so that’s probably why. taemins not that tall.

Actually Kai isn't the only one in a different room. Ten started out in the first room with the window wall behind him. then taemin came over in the same room and started dancing. but he dances in 2 locations. the same one as ten, and another empty dark room (sometimes with the red lights). in this room, kai comes over and then kai starts dancing in the empty room except now all the lights are on and it's bright (and white).

Edit and adding comments: Taemin referencing dreams really makes me think about the theory that he is the "puppet master" and they are all under his spell in a dream. This concept makes me so curious.

The meaning of the choreo was explained by the choreographer on his IG, other than that, here in SuperM it's Jongin’s power that is important, rather than the meaning of his name, hence why I was mainly focusing on that.

Loved the uniqueness of Kai’s performance. It was so different and enthralling. So much body control and
finesse there. I was so drawn to his emotions too. When he was struggling with various feelings, I could feel the same struggle. And Yes, Kai is definitely telling a story with his performance. It’s called Door. He has explained the concept in detail in one of his live Instagrams. I think they are probably in three different mental status- Ten keeps spelling and announcing his name with his voice and his body represents the reality, where the true self exists. Taemin actually performed in Two different locations- one is the same as Ten's, the other looks a lot more dreamy. And he keeps mentioning dream. So I would assume that Taemin gets into the second level- dream. Kai gets into the third level-dream in a dream(where everything becomes possible-quote NCT Mentary). The way he opens an invisible door can prove that. The way he dances is more conflicted and with more struggle, maybe it shows that he is on another spiritual level.
Interesting! I didn't think of it that way, but it makes sense.
I was thinking that Taemin is controlling them to some extent. This kind of ties in to the individual trailers and how it looks like Taemin is manipulating events for all of the other members. In the performance video, he performs in the middle, bridging the gap between Ten and Kai. He is present in both "locations" - in the big space that Ten is in, and the room that Kai is in (although his version is lit up by red lighting for both areas, which just adds to the ominous feeling). That makes me think that he is the one who "created" those dream areas that Ten and Kai are dancing in. The song he dances to specifically mentions "dreams take over" and "are we dreaming?". His movements while dancing seem to me to echo the movements someone who is controlling a marionette would make, like there are strings that he is manipulating.
I don't know. There is definitely an air of Taemin being in control of things or manipulating dreams/reality between this video and the trailers. But he does also look like *he* is the one being possessed by the dreams. So I'm just guessing at this point. 😆

Okay I tried to find this comment, but didn't see it around, so... Taemin, Kai, and Ten are all a part of an SM unit/group called SM The Performance. (Other members are SHINee Minho, EXO Lay, Super Junior Donghae & Eunhyuk, and TVXQ U-Know.) This group has been around, dancing on special programming, doing stages in SM Town concerts, and making Station mvs, since 2012. Ten is the only non-original member, and he joined in 2017.
THAT's why these three have an extra performace video... and you're right, no one is reacting to it, because unless you've been following kpop for a while (and a bit obsessively lol) you wouldn't know about it necessarily (that's fine, too! Love to all the newer kpop fans!!)
PS - a lot of people also don't know that Ten's "Dream in a Dream" was actually his debut in this group, and was promoted as a group song! Of course, since it was on Empathy, it's thought of as his solo (which it is) and an NCT 2018 piece (sort of). SM doesn't make life easy for us, huh? XD

Unsure if it's been said yet or not... but they're considered the best dancers from their respective groups. Taemin and Kai are regarded as top dancers in the industry in general. So that's why it's these three.
So is Ten :(( He was considered one of the best ever since 2016 when he did hit the stage. He was immediately ranked as one of the best in kpop. He is still ranked there.

I don’t think people understand that this video is to showcase SM’s best dancers in their entire company. In fact dancers they believe to be the best in the entire industry, and many fans would agree. And they are even making the video out to be a “duel” or a “dance-off” between the three. That’s the reason there won’t be a video of the other four. This is a performance video to showcase their best dancers. I also think that there won’t be much in this that will be tied to the future music video, if there is it’ll probably be very minuscule. A video that will showcase what will be in their future music video would be the Jopping teaser (I think that’s how it’s spelled. But again this is what I believe the purpose of this video is. I could be wrong.

This video was probably to introduce the super M group and it’s members and showcase their talents. All the more reason to do so since super m were to debut in the US where kpop or the kpop idols weren’t as popular.

How I wish you would enjoy this video and their performance more, instead of overthinking why they did that and this, and why only those three who were featured in performance video. I don’t know if you’re aware, but SM always releases performance videos for some of their artists. Taemin’s Drip Drop and NCT’s Black on Black are two examples of performance videos SM released.

I think there are not much teasers or vids where they are all together because the fans are almost all just specific fans of their original groups and have some tension with each other. Except the multis.
