Great job. I can't believe this video got a few dislikes! As a screenwriter myself, John Hughes was always a huge influence. To write films this timeless is pure magic. Thanks for the video.
John Hughes is still a gift that keeps giving- Talent and squared right into the heart and soul of a generation. Thanks to all who participated in this stellar movie- I still weep for the future...
Can't love this enough... 💓 The music especially at the end with those scenes. I was the same age as they were that year. Nostalgia. . great memories 😍
Tell me abt it. I grad from HS in 1987, but it seems like yesterday. Ever since having a stem cell transplant 4 yrs ago for a rare blood disease cld PNH, I always take time for myself, to look around, and do my best not to waste time like I used to. I have mixed feelings abt the 80's era, An outside observer would have said that I was having fun, but I actually was not. Idiot weirdo friends, not finishing coll. in a timely fashion or choosing a career path. But I do have a fondness for some of the 80's music and movies like this. It was a diff time.
True, life in the eighties was, in retrospect, much cooler than we realized at the time. We should have enjoyed the moments more consciously. But that’s how it is in youth. Time seems endless, and tomorrow will take care of itself.
This video needs more views. I love that the movies from my youth are still touching generations beyond mine. I was barely a freshman in college when the movie came out and my girlfriend wanted to go see it. I don't remember being overly impressed with it at the time (I didn't like the Ferris character), but the film has aged well and is a neat time capsule.
Went to Chicago for the first time in 2003 and stayed downtown. I accidentally ran across a few locations and was tickled. So cool to see them in person
+Handle with Kare DAM!! This movie was in 1986, 30 years! ago! Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.
I visited Glenbrook North High School in February, 2010. It was cool to visit at least one unique location from the film. The only thing that had changed since the film were that the railings had been replaced. Very nice video!
Wow, compared to many filming locations, the stuff from Ferris Bueller's Day Off has barely changed. Even more remarkable since it's been almost 30 years.
Some jokes take a while to get. The french restaurant, Chez Quis is a play on words, basically, it's pronounced "Shakeys", as in "Shakey's Pizza". The joke being, other than the pun, is that Shakey's is a family, middle class restaurant, whereas Chez Quis is supposed to be a hoity-toity, expensive restaurant. I didn't figure that one out for about 20 years.
Herve Attia!! This is an Amazing Movie!! Among others That I have seen. You bring the movie to life and keep it from fading, with the reality of their Now! famous scenes and places. Thank You Very Much! And Much Success! Very Funny Too!!
Herve, you did an absolutely perfect job with your video. I like movie so much and it was very interresting to see the movie location again. Thanks a lot!
Grown up in the seventies and eighties I love the John Hughes Filming Locations as well, too bad the Breakfast Club has not many locations other then that same Northbrook High School. Love your videos mr. Attia. Another great video!!
RIP John Hughes....a genius that left us way too soon....

Great job. I can't believe this video got a few dislikes! As a screenwriter myself, John Hughes was always a huge influence. To write films this timeless is pure magic. Thanks for the video.
Beautifully edited -- this brings me memories of my childhood. Thank you.

When Cameron was in Egypt's land, let my Cameron go... You're not dying!
Can't love this enough... 💓 The music especially at the end with those scenes. I was the same age as they were that year. Nostalgia. . great memories 😍

One of the greatest movies ever made, and it always will be. This was beautiful.
Watching this kills me... A piece of history, a point in my life as a little kid in a world were nothing made sense...
Wow. Well done. You really caught the nostalgic quality that made this movie so well loved by kids of the 80's. Thank you, I really enjoyed it.
I can't believe Cameron's home looks EXACTLY the same now as it did then. That's incredible.
38ldp Just over a million I believe. It took a while to sell actually. It was in the news when it sold.
This breaks my heart, seeing Cameron's house. If only someone could've bought that and kept it up.
Somebody did...

Me too. I was born 1987. 2 days after 1986 was done ✔
Why does this put a lump in my throat ? I miss the 80s so much 😞😞😞
I visited Glenbrook North High School in February, 2010. It was cool to visit at least one unique location from the film. The only thing that had changed since the film were that the railings had been replaced. Very nice video!
Between grief and nothing... I'll take grief.
Thanks for introducing me to the great song at the garage!
Bravo! Thanks for the amazing work on meshing the scenes together!
I seriously appreciate the effort that you put into these 'then and now' videos!
I had to pause the video just to say how awesome a job you did I love the morphing of the scenes
At first i thought this was overly nerdy, but then it became elegant and strangely addictive. Nice work!
Very well done. All looks a bit sad now, especially the car showroom.
I wish I could like this video 100 times.
